  • pretty cool thanks for the tip :)

  • whats the masive black thing with yellow switch on im in uk tell where to get it from and wat it calld ty

  • It's a 9V Train Speed Regulator, set #4548.

  • were do get the adapter capel

  • You can get it at LEGO Shop@Home. It's reference 8886. There's also a longer version, available to some countries, with reference 8871.

  • Great!

    Good Idea.

A simple wrong polarity save kind.

  • Dear Mr. brickpile it's obvious that we won't use this idea in trains. But now I know how to build an 1:13 scale pneumatic-electric excavator with new PF engines and steered with Control Center 2.

    Thx TB! :)

  • Can you try same with new PF switch please?

  • When I get the opportunity I will, even though my gut tells me it's not going to work...

When I try, I'll add the results to the TBs article.

  • Thanks!

  • I tried with the switch, and it didn't work. I've updated the article to add this info.

  • Thanks anyway!

  • Yeah but the battery box and extra cables are bulky, and having a PF version of the train controller would be cool....

  • Tempting to hack open a train controller and battery box, and put the electronics from the latter into the former.

  • Actually, if you shorted out the correct pins on the PF connector, you'd get the same result. That's what the battery box does, but without modifying any LEGO parts.

  • Nice find! Very usefull for exhibitions and such.
