  • De grootste huismus van Nederland.

  • Nice!

  • jha duhh KLM natuurlijk from nederlands

  • They must be 1000 feet apart...

  • Not a few hundred feet. Regulated diverse altitude was most truly follow by the two flight crew on both airplanes.

This is normal air traffic and probably took place close to a waypoint where two airways cross each other. Its even more cool when you see it att night. Flying the east coast of USA for an example att night you will see alot of lights meet you in a amazing speed,,,naturly ,o)

  • KLM Asia?

  • Happens all the time.

  • KLM to me probably the most attractive aircrafts in the sky.

  • Não gostei dessa empresa a comida horrivel passei fome!!!!

  • why does it appear to be flying so slow if its going in the opposed direction?

  • @rationalpsychedelia nevermind :D

  • Comment removed

  • fantastic, I'd like to see sth like that in real, maybe i'll see while my next flight, I wish !! ;)

  • Dressing up like a fighter pilot and hanging around in bars comment earlier, seven years ago we were at a patio bar the same weekend the Toronto air show was on. This 6' 5" dude in a navy flight suit sat next to us on a Saturday night. Said he was a pilot from the airshow and he flew the F-16. Three questions about flight dynamics he couldn't answer and he proved he was a fake.

  • @Grouchy58 Something similar happened to me the other week....guy tried telling me he was a pilot, and he couldn't tell me which planes he was checked out on, other than "ye know, the medium sized ones"!!! If he had of expressed his interest in flying, without the BS I might have offered him to join me next time I flew.

  • @Grouchy58 Isn't he to tall to be a F16 pilot? I thought I read 5'11'' was a max higth for that bird.

  • @Grouchy58 That's funny. Did you ask him what aircraft he flew before he became an F-16 pilot since the US Navy only has about 4 or 5 F-16's and they use(d) them for aggressor training only?

  • @thedeitsch On the opposite extreme... Tom Cruise is a midget... and he was at Top Gun... and he fake screwed Whats-her-face...

  • @Grouchy58 The Top Gun pilot was not familiar with your cartoon graphics-filled flight sim computer game.

6foot5... isn't that too tall to be a fighter pilot?

  • lol, KLM drive by.. the passengers smash the windows and pull guns out XD

  • Like to dress like a jet pilot and hang out at the airport BAR ....

  • vertial separation should be 2000 feet in same direction travel

  • Is that KLM Asia?

  • hehe i have a picture of this plane ..took from my balcony.. :D

  • No contrails?

  • @323tiim contrails form several hundred feet behind an airplane...after the 747 passed under us, we rode the contrails for hours like railroad tracks...as our KLM 747 got over Ottawa, and made a slight left turn to land in Toronto, this 747 continued west, possibly to Chicago.

  • @Grouchy58 ok

  • @Grouchy58 GREAT!! wow!! post more if you can !!

  • Wow! That is something. Vertical Separation should be 1,000 feet in this case.

  • wowwwwwwwwwww

  • Beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • Absolutely Amazing!!!!!

  • if chuck norris was on ur plane that other one would have been pulled in with his gravitational pull

  • Hurry! You might be able to hitch a ride back!

  • definitely more than a "few hundred feet" lol

  • @IceMurder its actually gonna be exactly one thousand feet :D

  • so like why does "your?" video have a "copyright- Chapel Hill Media" printed over it ?

  • Wow really cool!

  • That is awesome!

  • verry good

  • I can't wait to go to Paris this summer! (:

i hope i get to see this :)

  • that should have been closer

  • koninklijke luchtvaart maatschappij

  • i wonder if some dude on that plane was recording a vid

  • That was a LOT farther than a few hundred feet! That would only be a couple of wing spans of the other aircraft. Legal seperation is 2000 feet vertical... it was at least that much! 2000 feet is less that half a mile and just looks close when the airplane is that big.

  • @FlightTimeRadioShow dude, did you not read the other 443 posts that all say the same thing???? LOL!

  • @Grouchy58 Man.... I can't read! Who told you that I could.... I was just overwhelmed by the excitement and total horror of seeing one airplane from another!

  • @FlightTimeRadioShow right place, right time....134 flights in 50 years, 225,000 kms, and I still get a window seat, and still prefer watching the clouds and scenery instead of the movies...

  • @Grouchy58 I agree 100%. If I fly airlines, I WILL have a window...Day or night.....

  • @FlightTimeRadioShow People miss experiences not looking out the window, like seeing greenland...thats why when I fly back from Schiphol, I always get the right side of the plane, because the ones on the left cant see greenland as we fly over the tip...it's hit and miss, sometimes it flies 200 kms to the south, but when it does hit it, the scenery is awesome....and sometimes, both sides get the view

have some good pics of that on webshots...

  • @Grouchy58 I'd like to see them.... Where on webshots?

  • @FlightTimeRadioShow Actually on the North Atlantic tracks abovr 29,000 ft or more precisely FL290 the reduced vertical separation minima (RVSM) rules in operation only require 1000 ft vertical separation between traffic. Add in to this the +/- 1 or 2 hundred feet tolerance in the altitude reporting equipment and you can see two aircraft can be within say 700ft and still be legally separated.

  • not a few hundred feet... aircraft must be separated by at least 1000 feet.

  • its not too close, only 1k feet of vertical seperation is required so.. thats like 300m

  • @Lighjt same direction 2000'

  • That's beautiful!

  • Both planes are approaching the same airport, but different run ways, both getting the instructions of air traffic controllers. That is normal.

  • klm asia is still flying

  • Beautiful 747!!

  • amazing which airline u were flying

  • thats too colse

  • Wow! That must to be great to see that!

  • no way thats 5 miles has to be closer.

  • Seperation for air traffic must be 1000ft vertically and 5 miles behind. They can fly next to each other.

  • I wonder how much separation there is between the two planes. I do know that airspace is divided up. Either all travel east to west is done on either even or odd thousands and trave west to east would be the opposite.

  • It is 1000 feet below them. Thats the minimum for spreading planes apart they cannot be closer.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if it was more like 2,000 feet. 1,000 would be in the path of oncoming traffic, wouldn't it?

  • not necessarily, they often put opposing traffic on slightly different (horizontal) routes on busy airways

  • What camera did u use? Has a very nice focus and quality.

  • Panasonic PV-GS150...it's a 2 year old 3 CCD minDV...obsolete today

  • Yeah maybe but it seems very good to me still.

  • I'll be flying in one of those soon

  • The airline is Mytravel, used to be Airtours International and now thomas Cook

  • That's well over a few hundred feet. Great footage though. I wonder how many of them looked up.

  • I guess all of them who were sitting at the right side :)

  • great!!

  • nice pics

  • The air is like a highway, separation of 1000 feet is always the case.

That is way more than a few hundred feet. Seems like almost 2000 feet apart to me.

  • Awesome air-to-air! Good spot!

  • impressive video!

  • you need to have your eyeballs calibrated. That was a heck of alot more than a few hundred feet. More like over a 1/4 mile. No problem.

  • lol make a klm comercial with it LOL

  • shit that could have been me on my way back from russia / amsterdam / lithuania where were you?

  • The KLM quickly slides out of view to avoid embaressment :O

  • wow

  • sweet

  • WIthin a fwe hundred feet belov us?

    At least 1000ft ;-)

  • No, at LEAST 7 million miles.

  • FeroX is right this is very commen and the funny thing is that the people in the low flying planes almost never see the one above but the people in the above almost always see the down plane. so people that fly much can have been in this situation many times without knowing it.

  • This is common guys, 1000 ft. horizontal seperation or 10 km. vertical...

Common proceedure, but looks like the TCAS system onboard/ATC's corrects the bearing of the two planes (The KLM turns right, and the airplane you were onboard banks to the left afterwards) -Just to make sure about the seperation.

    Mat.

  • At least 2000ft vertical seperation when flying in the same direction in RVSM airspace. 60NM horizontal when flying over the north atlantic. TCAS only corrects in the vertical plane.

  • TCAS only alerts you if a collision is imminent, and even so it only suggests vertical changes.

  • @FeroX113 no TCAS involved here.

  • Not fake

  • NOT FAKE

  • NOT FAKE U MOTHAFUCKING BITCH

  • Prolly a cargo

  • Not Cargo. You see it is KLM 747, if it was KLM Cargo, there would be CARGO typed with big on the fwd of the fuselage

  • it is a boeing 747-406m klm ASIA .. look at the tail.. if you look close you can see;) i think it was coming from JFK, San fransico or LAX

  • Yeah, I see, I believe you are right - but definately not cargo ;)

  • probably a klm flight comming from LAX heading to amsterdam. i saw in one of my last flights from prague to rome a plane with the same distance like in this video only not down but on the right site! looked scary.

  • That was fucking close!

  • Not to be confused with the 10'000 metres club though.

  • It was more like a mile away not a few hundred feet

  • Planes must be 1,000Ft vertically separated.

  • Yeah I think I'd consider that quite far away, but then I am a qualified pilot so perception from experience is very different.

  • any chance someone at the other plane uploaded a vid of your plane??

  • no sun roofs on passenger planes

  • that is soo kool sexy aircraft !!

  • this is the new "drive by"

soon, they will start with fly by shooting ...

  • lmao! "Where's my money???"

  • more like

this is somalian air pirate flight 2348, over. where is my money over?

  • If u want my money come and get them "pirates". Over :P

  • Eh, Roger Wilco. Hacking your bank account and firing mounted stingers. Bye-bye, then! Over and out.

  • LMFAO

  • thats exactly how it was within 5min of taking off from the schipol airport we saw another KLM boeing 777 coming and preparing to land. it was sooo cool. i was like they probably can see us in our flashy boeing 747.

    awesome! great vid!

    love the royal dutch!

  • The Royal Dutch!

  • Not hundreds. Try thousands.

  • A few hundred feet ? who you trying to kid ? Minimum seperation is 1000 feet otherwise evasive action would be required.

  • 1,000 feet IS only 300 metres, my friend. And 300 metres is only 3/4 length of a regulation running track.

  • do you not think that is far enough?

  • few hundred feet....hahaha...

  • nat tracks:) dayperiod eastbound tracks! 2000ft sep vertical

  • Look how fast the 747 overtakes the author's aircraft!

    On average a B767 does mach .80 an A330-A340 does Mach .82, 777 .83...

The 747 goes all the way up to M.86!

All this is very routine, also in the cockpit, the pilots have this thing called TCAS, Traffic Collision Avoidance System, it works with the transponder system of the radio and signals each aircraft in your vicinity, it will even warn when you come too close and send an evasive guide signal in case you come too close!

  • overtakes?

there is no overtaking.2 different routes, they are just crossing.the 747 is heading a few degrees right.airliners never fly full speed.they follow an cost index of the airline and keep the fuel costs as low as possible.

  • it looks like its gonna soo damn slow, even though its more like 540mph

  • This look very scary to me!

  • once the plane I was flying was crossed by another plane (it was a AA plane) that our plane shook a little after the plane passed under us. Everyone didn't mention a word we were all just staring at each other like saying 'did that just happened?' I wish I have had a camera to tape that...it was scary!

  • It was so close, great view:):):)

  • It should at least be a 1000 ft below. That's RVSM (reduced vertical seperation minima) airspace.

1000' is not much, as you can see in the vid. Great sight!!

  • 1000ft and or 3 miles laterally. 2000ft above FL410, and 4000 between supersonic flights at any level.

  • in this case they where 2000ft apart, if you travel in both directions RVSM it has to be all the even FL's on the way to the US, odd's to europe, on the atlantic crossing you need to stay on your FL as well till you come under radar coverage again.

  • It also depends on your oceanic clearance. I would be suprised if the controller gave an even level to Europe, but who knows...

  • this is a strange vidio.

every time ive seen a plan pass by the one im on at around this distance, theyve passed within a second or so and seem to be traveling at MUCH faster speeds than what this one is.

  • SERIOUSLY! I think I was flying that 744 at that moment..:-O

I'm a First officer on a KLM Boeing 747-400.. and I fly for KLM Asia From AMS to LAX..

hehe. great to see myself flying :-D

(btw. my profile says I'm 15, that's incorrect but I don't know how to change it..

  • I think youtube uses the age provided in the mail account you used when you created your profile page. Nice flying by the way!

  • haha well id believe you if that was a 744. There is no winglets and it is the -236 SUD version, even though it looks like a -300.

  • yeah it has winglets! look at the left wing. you can clearly see the winglets. believe me or not..

  • This is a 747-400.

It does have winglets and furthermore, it's a KLM-ASIA plane. They only fly the 747-400.

  • Now thats somethin' to see!

  • Very nice video. Congratulations! :-) To se 747 in flight is very nice.

  • it's not its a klm asia;)

  • Wow, great to see this :D

  • woooooooow

  • nice

  • KLM royal Dutch Airlines, no contrails because it's flying pretty low, as you can see the sea, so the air is not cold enough

  • holy crap..that`s close...btw..what means klm?

  • It's the best airline in the world, origin The Netherlands!!

  • Dutch: Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij English: Royal Dutch Airlines

  • Nice KLM Asia :D

  • nice vid,thnxx

  • That's lovely, thanks 4 sharing :-)

  • ten is the air to high / celsius farhenheit

  • fantastic

  • why no contrails?

  • too low

  • Some of these videos where people claim the aircraft is flying too close to their aeroplane, are you sure they're not zooming it in?

  • you will kill me,but 747 looks better in the ground than in the air

  • Ahaha I love how you say

"KLM 747 pass within a few hundred feet of us"

Are you kidding me ? thats atleast 1,000 under you.

  • nice to see one of our blue birds crossing the globe

  • lol ur dutch, me too, GO KLM!

  • While ir appeared that the two aircraft were close to each other (we rarely get to see it), they were further apart than you might think... It can be deceiving, due to the size of the 747, the lack of background reference, etc.. There was never any issue with regard to safety here.

  • That was a great clip...

  • I wish I could get footage like that, especially of a 747! Those are my favorites

  • am i right in saying klm have the world record for the most deaths in one accident and did it kill something like 585 people

  • It was KLM and PanAm, but what does it matter?

  • i dont know i was just bored and had a useless fact that was something kind of to do with this vid

  • In a single accident. 2 747s collide. KLM and PanAm. So it was 2 planes, not 1
