  • great tribute to the greatest emcee of alltimes ,they did him justice but nothing compares to the original

  • rage is a hip hop band i love it

  • Anybody know the track played at the very end? Anybody know where that concert was at 3:15?

  • You know a band is good when their covers are thirty times better than the originals.

  • @ROFlyoshi Piss off

  • @Phl3xable Woah, did I hit a nerve there?

  • @ROFlyoshi This is good, but the original by Rakim is a classic. Very skillfully made and thought up, you can see that by the lyrics and delivery.

  • @Phl3xable Oh I agree the lyric writing was amazing, I heard the original and I thought it was rather good. I just think RATM did a ggod job pulling it all togehter.

  • @ROFlyoshi yeah right lol

  • Thumbs up if you start jumping at 3:58

  • Holy shit this song is bad ass.

I heard a few rage at the machine songs, I liked them but didn't think nothing of it.

But this song is definitely going on my ipod.

  • I'm sure they have their reasons but why are they burning an American flag?

  • his shirt says fuck in ford font lol

if that isnt saying fuck america then i dont know what says.....? dont know where i wwas goin with that fuck yeeeeahhh

  • 3:02 wow....

  • @YERBOLOKO Fun Fact, Muse add it to the end of there songs alot. They were inspired alot by rage.

    /watch?v=kZGN0lADg10

  • Rakim Against The Machine!

  • @Secret111SquirreL tard one out of four of them was from Harvard.

  • Yowwww.... I was a fiendd

  • @Secret111SquirreL surely it doesnt matter where these guys come from, the music sounds awesome and their message in their previous albums is universal, you dont have to be a latino on the rough side of LA, a harvard graduate or a school kid in the UK like me to understand what they are trying to say.

  • @Secret111SquirreL Pardon?

  • 4:15 what music video is that from?

  • 12 people don't feel the E-F-F-E-C-T of this song

  • I love rap music, and this version crushes Rakim's original

  • @tonyisserious not even close to the R

  • @kareemali Rakim is shit.

  • @tonyisserious

I like rage but I can tell u don’t know anything about music.Rakim is one of the greates and most respected writers and poets of the 20th century if he wasn’t Rage would not have stole his song in its entirety

  • @kareemali I don't like rage at all, but I can tell you don't know anything about rap, or DJs.

Rakim only became famous when he got with the DJ he is with now.

The only reason any of his songs have any popularity is because of his DJ.

    Rakim is terrible.

I mean, lil wayne has the exact same style. Making rhymes like "money" with "funny".

Again, if you knew anything about rap music, you'd know that Rakim is disposable when it comes to the rap industry, he did nothing.

  • If any other band would try to do this, they would destroy the song( in a bad way, that is) but they handled it well. But no more heavy metal bands trying to cover the greatest hip hop lyricist of all time please.

  • At 16, Rage blew me away. At 23, it blows me away on a completely different level. That, in my opinion, demonstrates the power and timelessness of this music.

  • @dlong6184 know the backround to the lyrics now is it? ;-)

  • @dlong6184 you said it brother

  • they're amazing...they can take a song that's not even theirs and make it the greatest song eva

  • this is so nice!!! i thought it was going to smell bad. haha good

  • why did you start the song then stop it then start it again?

  • @ThePowerOfRomance thats how the song goes

  • @ThePowerOfRomance

    looooool so dumb hahhahahahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaaahahahhahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

  • holy shit 3:58 i just can't control myself

  • cant wait till their next album, heard its gonna be finished this summer

  • Rage against the machine, so badass their amps catch on fire

  • with quotations from the Truman, Nixon and Reagan, keep on listening to Hillary Clinton, Albright, Rice for whom independent Russia will always be a system of evil, but the dying and suffering Russia - best friend (as in the nineties).

RATM supports USSR against the insidious enemy USA with his media assault .

  • One of my favorite bands covering my favorite emcee of all time! gotta love it.

  • All you people wondering why they covererd rakim must not realize they had a whole cd full of covers and covered everyone from the stones to cypress hill

  • @812nate LOL Renagades was the shit :D

  • Well both styles are heavy in the beat area, but Rakim's just sounds more like he was telling a real story about himself (rather it was or just made up I don't know) but Rage did their thing and Rakim did his...just first.

  • i listened to the original by Rakim and realized rage didnt make this song

  • UK political hip hop

    search BROKEN DIALECT

or THEY CENSORED US TV (SEVERAL ARTISTS)

  • i love how this metal band or whatever is covering an old school hip hop rap

  • rage stomps all..

hydroponic sound system feat. grand supreem is still a better cover than this though.

  • y u even comparing two different things? plus this is a cover anyway so ur dumb

  • wicked classic tune sung by the true school!!!

  • Eminem got nothin' on this!

  • @bassmastah13 you can't compare them

  • @bassmastah13 Why are you comparing Rage against the machine to Eminem?

  • @MrGetalife23 cuz eminem did a cover ofthis as well

  • i kick a hole in the speaker pull the plug, and than i jet! well back to tha lab, so than i add all the rhmes i had one after another one, than i make another one!!!

  • Rage stepped up , never sold out! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

  • Rage + Eric B. & Rakim = best ever

  • snoop dog verse?

  • BIG props to eric b and rakim for the mad lyrics, BUT rage against the machine has more E-FF-E-C-T, with the song.

  • This has just wrecked a great song, people who enjoy this shitty arse cover made for deros can eat a fucking dick. Seriously how can people enjoy this bullshit.

  • @bryanhazza not liking this is all part of your tastes in music , but if you dislike it THAT much, it shows how stupid you are for looking it up and watching it

  • @SenoreObama i don't think you seem to understand i was merely expressing my personal opinion. Seeing as you are a little dick fondling hipster i will tell you this, i didnt look this up, if you had a few more brain cells you might be able to have respect for good music and knowing when its being butchered. Also did it ever occur to you that i stumbled across this video whilst looking up the original version, and just curiously decided to see if music these days has gotten better, the answers no

  • @bryanhazza alright then, go back to listen to your 'golden age music' you closed minded fuck. obviously if you 'had a few more brain cells' you would realise this is hard rock, not rap/hip hop like the original.

you dont see RATM listeners who dislike the original by rakim going there and posting shit. give some respect to other forms of music you dumbass. obviously not all music is going to be the same style as rap and hip hop or whatever your into

  • @SenoreObama if any of your faggot posse of shit eating metal fans bagged the original there would be no point seeing this gay cunt band is too shit to create their own lyrics, also abbreviating rage against the machine to RATM is by far the gayest thing ive seen all day

  • @bryanhazza what do you honestly think your going to gain by arguing on this video? you completely ignored my argument and started chucking random cuss at me. Also rage can create their own lyrics... theyve had three critically acclaimed albums before their cover album.

And you, for that matter, call them everything you want, but theyve made a shitload more money than you can ever hope for. get a life, make more fame than RATM then come back and critiscise them

  • R A T F Machine - Mind Blowing Music....

  • Holy fuck this song is amazing

  • If you like this (which im guessing is a yes for everyone) check out the original by Eric B & Rakim

  • It's ridiculous how good this cover is

  • GREAT ERic B and Rakim cover, Long live RAGE and Eric B. & Rakim!

  • Yep, the smooth operator is definitely operating correctly on this one.

  • E-FF-ECT

  • This is just pure E-F-F-E-C-T. I thought Eric B and Rakim's was good as it got, but to hear this. damn I was jumping out of my seat.

I love RATM because they can go hard in both hip hop and funk metal. respect

  • I still think Eric B. & Rakim sang this better.

  • E.F.F.E.C.T!!!!!!

  • Nice tribute to Rakim

  • i dunno why de la rocha didnt want this album released it rocks

  • i love when the bass kicks in! it has such an amazing tune in this song!!!

  • heard this song last night at wembley stadium before the Muse Gig... sounds so sick anyway... but played at full volume in wembley was just awesome!!!!!!!

  • @GulfstreamG550

    was an awesome gig!!!!

  • De La Roca is a sick man. Damn come back kid.

  • Well, that was interesting. I'll take Rakim's version 8 days a week.

  • @unclematt3 its cos your black

  • @OmgAParkourFlip dude im black. i prefer rage to rakim anyday. i also prefer them to any mainsteeam shit they play on the radio these days. when I hear it thats exactly what i feel. rage. people are so fucking stupid and brainwashed these days it almost makes me wanna vomit:(

  • Wow. RATM does this so much better than muse. No offence to muse, just sayin

  • Zack is always in my workout mix!

  • blows the original

  • EFFECT!

  • best metal rap song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bassmastah13 this is a cover dumbass

  • Coming from someone who doesn't normally like rap, whether it's mixed with rock or not, this is fucking epic.

  • one hardcore ass band

  • Checked this out because Muse uses this riff as a jam....I can safely say they have damn good taste.

  • @nobberz62 lol me too :p

  • @nobberz62

hell yeah dude. theres nothing like that riff after new born live

  • ratm for life

    they truly are the e-f-f-e-c-t

  • E-FF-ect \m/

  • eric b and rakim microphone fiend old school shit rage did a kickass job

  • It's not a matter of who's version is betta? it's fuckin original and all blazin in it;s own right!!!

  • These mutha fucka's are crazy original. A whole new genre . one of a kind fo sure. if this shit don't get u pumped your fuckin flatlinin...

  • The original version easily takes this, that one has a smooth, cool delivery, but I don't blame this one for being wrong in any way, gotta respect RATM for covering some great hip hop classics and not fucking them up like many others have. This song is good and one of my favorites from their covers but I've always liked the original songs more (probably cuz Im a hip hop fan and heard the original versions first).

  • @fleshnbone187 agreed

  • Zach de la Rocha should definitely get some cred as one of the best rappers of the modern generation....or at least of the 90s

  • In Soviet Russia, Machine Rage Against the Man

  • @turboz1k official propaganda of fistagon, thank u idiot

  • @turboz1k omgwtflolbbqsauce!!! X3

  • @Meowmixer1101

    Rakim's is better.

  • Fantastic! My favourite RATM track.

  • Muse played the bridge better. :>

  • @CollateralMuse fuk yes they did haha more awesum distortion

  • sweet

  • nah renegade king rakims versions sucks!!! and it sboring

  • @Meowmixer1101 BORING!, the only reason YOU, think its boring and not good is cuz you have no rhythm what so ever, and cant dance to the song. Being a bboy the song is amazing, being a fan of golden age hip-hop the song is amazing. Id rather not compare them. Cover - Original who gives a fucking shit. fucking shit hip-hop haters. Learn real hip-hop and fucking dont even count all the new rappers you here today as HIP-HOP. theyre all a bunch of unintelligent shit rhymers

  • bad ass

  • E FF ECT!

  • Way better than the original. This is one of the few cases where that actually HAPPENS.

  • nope, This is not as fresh as Rakim's

  • Eric B. And Rakim all day every day!!

  • I Love Rage..but it's hard to re-make Rakim's song...Even with Tom Morello..it's a good version..but Mic Fiend is a Hip-Hop classic..made by a 2 prodigies..Eric B and Rakim..and Hard 2 re-do

  • E FF E C T

  • @holdmiester muse havent got nothing on rage even though they are a great band rage just blows them away

  • @pmckeown40 completely different bands, incomparable.

  • because one kicks a bit and one kicks it ALOT

  • agreed. but morello and bellamy are both great guitarists. thank fucking god!

  • eee. ef ef. ee ceeee teeeeeeee

  • i always wondered where matt bellamy got microphone fiend from haha this song! or the orig. but probably this

  • @MyMelon13

The original is "Microphone Fiend" by Eric B. and Rakim.

  • Me too. I thought it was Matt Bellamy's riff at first. Tom Morello is a genius.

  • Shit I never even noticed that. Either way its a sick riff.

  • what's the song playing at the end?

  • es del evil empire me parece que es year of tah boomerang

  • Amazing song!!!! Good for RATM making this better!!!! <3

  • @brollyhero99

  • rage is outta every ones class nothing will ever match up to them NO matter what

  • agreed. 100%

  • @Rested1000 No one will ever match them in this sound, but other artists have developed a sound as unique as rage. definite unique sound though.. premium.

  • @Rested1000 aint no doubt !

  • i totally love this songg!

  • these guys should be in some hall of fame.

  • @darrensan why they do this?! Its Rakim's song!

  • @ThatIncredibleJordan so what ?it`s just a cover....a good one.

  • @ernestocheguevara14 thats fine, but rakim was rapping about himself and its really weird that a band does a song that someone else wrote about himself.

  • @darrensan Fuck yes

  • @darrensan no doubt they'll be inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame in 2017 since bands have to wait 25 years to be inducted.

  • @darrensan actually, they were given a special "hall of fame" award by Kerrang! in 2008

  • im not a fan of rock music for real, but i have mad respect for this!
