  • how much for summat like tht as im startin my build soon n dunno what to buy 1st

  • @Aaron2009baby This cockpit owes me around $10,000 plus for the entire setup and other associated costs.

  • overhead is it a sticker

  • @Aaron2009baby Yes mate, the overhead is a digital printout of the overhead with the switches and buttons built into the printout.

  • Hi guys, I'm getting a few emails about how I built the sim, please have a look at the other videos , I explain it all there on what I have done so far. Some HD vids coming :)

  • I replied to one of your videos about how you wired the gauges.... can't find it now but I found your other video which shows that they're monitors.. Thanks...

  • DIY Nobel prize level. Compliments.

  • New short video in the video response area of the control column. Some new footage soon of in flight visuals.

  • Lots of people are asking to see more of how the sim was built. Just follow the other videos guys and i explain everything about the build so far.

    Cheers

  • 180 degree wrap around visuals using 3 BENQ M118ST projectors at 1280x800 native is almost complete. I have now networked 2 computers together. 1 old pentium 4 3.2ghz running fs9 and the leveld767 plus hardware, the coreI5 will be dedicated to outside visuals only. I will update pics and videos etc once its complete. A full scale 767 yoke almost here and also have a fully functioning 767 flight management computer to hook up aswell. Stay tuned ! If you need building plans etc drop me an email.

  • If you message me with your email I will sent you the complete building guide for this sim.

  • Using the jigsaw for the mip was quite easy, all you need is patience and a reasonably steady hand. I made sure the blade was new and I had no trouble at all. The 19inch monitors are 4:3 1280x1024. The captains monitor will be replaced with a better brand as its contrast is a litlle washed out but works great.

  • The Saitek Yoke is temporary, the beautifull 767 yoke from ACE YOKES will be going in to replace that as soon as the funds are available.

  • i can't believe you will use the saitek joke for that beauty you are making is the worst really try th CH at least I dont mean to bother just is very pro what you are doing

  • Hey Drewster! Great videos!. Wondering if you might be so kind as to send your 767 MIP Panel layout plans, overhead pjpgand any 767 specific cfgs. I decided not to go with the 737.It seems that the front MIP panels on the 767 utilize all the monitor and not just 2/3rds like in the 737. & The hang over of the 737 monitor is not good. Are you using 4:3 or 5:4 19 inch monitors(1280x1024) all the way around or what aspect ratio and size do you recommend? Thanks Mate! dj12345678 at charter dot net

  • Beautiful!! How in the world did you make such great cuts on the MIP using just a jigsaw???? Looks amazingly well cut.

  • Where'd you get your panel MIP's bezels and frames? I'm on a limited budget so I cant afford the poldragonet panels and I don't think I can cut MDF holes out good enough. Would you recommend maybe taking main panel sized MDF along with some autocad drawings and see if a machinist can cut it out properly?

When you do your upgrade on the visual projection screen, what do you think you will be using? 3 projection - maybe use warpalizer? Or too expensive?

  • When you do your upgrade on the visual projection scheme, what do you think you will be using? 3 projection - maybe use warpalizer?

  • You've helped me more with your videos than any other source I've seen so far (DaveMcKee1 was very good also). I really appreciate these videos and your taking the time to make them. It seemed so overwhelming until I saw that you made everything come together. I can actually see mine coming together and "do-able" because of your videos. Thanks Bro!

  • What's web site you take the parts of cockpit?

  • Hi Spider, I explain in more detail in the other videos on my site. What I did was use FSPanel Studio to create the Captains and Eicas screens. Once I had the panels displayed on the 19 inch monitors, I placed baking paper over the top and traced exactly where the intruments were on the screen.

  • hey nice sim.. can u help me with building my instrument panal? how did u cut them out and how did u line them up with the monitors and are u runnin all in portrait mode? thanks

  • what softwere do you use on the moniters and the front window

  • Hey guys, updating new videos tonight on how the sim was built and how it works with some inflight footage aswell.

  • Hi guys, I'll update the video's soon with some inflight shots and also a video on how it all works and what I did exactly to get it all working. I started the build with the shell yes. For interfacing the buttons and switches I use a great program called FSUIPC and a BUO386X joystick card from Leo Bodnar. These 2 things allow you to easily interface switches and buttons with flightsim etc. More on that soon.

  • How did you made the overhead buttons work in FS? I always wanted to build that but I can only set the key assignements of Flight Simulator.

  • what did you start build? did you start with the "shell" or did you like start with the panel? going to make a similar cockpit but an Avro Rj 100 cockpit so could use some advice to make a cockpit like yours but in Avro shape :)

  • Hey Guys thanks for the responses. I'd just like to say that Airvice8 does make a valid point about the gap between the overhead and the glare. It is a little bigger than the real aircraft by a few inches. However having said that I will help rectify that by adding a couple of window panels to the top of the exisiting windows to narrow the gap. You will see exactly what I mean shortly and it works well. More videos soon.

  • so lucky :( i was jealous when i watched this to be honest, by the way, just for future references where did you get all of these panel instruments and especially the yoke.

  • Hi can you make an updated video of what you have done so far thanks

  • nice potential but you have made a very common infact the most common basic structural mistake that i so often see in home sims. the gap between the top of glare and overhead is far to wide. if you look at the real thing you will see how narrow this gap really is. on the real thing you can almost span the gap with you hand ie thumb touching glare and little finger touching overhead i know i have done it. getting this right will improve the look and feel of your sim no end i asure you.

  • @airvice8 Wrong. His gap is fine. and even if it was wrong, it wouldn't matter due to structural constraints and also projection potentials. If he ends up using a projector, that gap will have to be wide anyway.

  • @Homerard have a look and compare some real photos its clear as daylight im on these flight decks every day so i have a pretty good idea of how they look and feel. and if as you say he makes it extra wide for projection reasons then it will not be true to life and that is my point. so many home builds have huge front windows like a car they look terrible

  • I love the look of your "cockpit" lol
