  • It is a W because on 1 cilinderbank, the cilinders are not in a straight line, but in a pattern of: 1st up, 2nd under, 3rd up, 4th under, etc. Look for Veyron W16 and you'll see. it is to make the engine more compact.

  • @bartjooh no no no its w because they put to V8 engines together and 2 Vs make a W VV=W

  • Talk about precise timing...two pistons for each crank lobe?

  • why are they called Ws when they are all Vs?

  • @superbungabunga well, to be honest, it is a V but on each side there is 2 different rows of cylinders 4 rows total 4x4=16, so it is not an v or w it would be like this: \\// but all conected to the same place And there is no letter like that, but it is closest to a w.

  • @superbungabunga Or, they're 2 v8s with different angle so you get 4 cylinder banks connected to the same crankshaft. And why tey chose W I don't know, but 2vs makes a w ;)

  • @Jimpank90 I'll have to shoot a guess and say they wanted a smaller V/W engine...

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaau! good video!
