  • SHES SO FREAKING CUTE!

  • AHHH he's coming to my college for a concert so i looked him up to see who he was :) i didn't realize i'd already heard him....he's fantastic

  • best version I've ever heard.

  • God, this makes me melt... :3 LOVE IT!<3

  • DAMN........as smooth and silky and warm and tender as a beer commercial !

  • Yes, I knew that but did not mention it. I always associate Rozanno with singing that song himself and it is wrong... Beautiful voice..

  • Listen to Rozanno Brazzi version...

  • @hisbiscusrose999 : "Listen to Rozanno Brazzi...." He wasn't singing in the movie. The voice was Giorgio Tozzi, one of the best operatic bassos ever.

  • i miss you evelyn

  • DEDICATE THIS MY FIRST WOMAN AND MY SON ABEL

  • I am 12 years old and i have to sing this song in my school play

  • @steelydan39 Wow, most adults, including me, could not do a good job of singing Some Enchanted Evening. I wish you well.

  • @ChicagoSouthDan Thank you, the rehearsals are going very well

  • i really dont like that conductor

  • @kingd095 I would guess that most people coming to this video, including me, do not know enough about conducting to evaluate the conductor. I am just curious. What is he doing wrong?

  • Unbelievable talent, matched with a majestic song.

  • My dad got me this for Christmas a couple of years ago. I love it.

  • Amazing, but this (mostly) staged reading of South Pacific may be as good as it's ever been. With Reba and Mr. Mitchell being two of the reasons why.

  • Stop watching Dancing with NOBODIES and go to the theater.

  • Gorgeous, just gorgeous!!!!

  • Wow!!! Brian Stokes Mitchell proves once again that he has one of the GREAT Broadway voices. Reba is dazzling and an incredible Nellie Forbush!

  • Now please explain why "reality' tv is so popular when we can have THIS !!!!????

  • I guess people who like traditional Broadway showtunes tend to be older people, in their late 50s, like me. Therefore, something like this does not get a lot of youtube views because youtube is used primarily by younger people.. However, it still bothers me that this wonderful rendition of Some Enchanted Evening gets only about 5,500 views and something else that is mediocre to lousy (in my opinion) gets over a million views. Oh well.

  • @ChicagoSouthDan I'm not 50, and I believe that Classic Broadway is better than any reality television. :)

  • Brian Stokes Mitchell is a great performer - with a powerful and resonant beautiful voice. He sings "Some Enchanted Evening" so perfectly it is amazaing. When I was a very young boy, I saw Ezio Pinza sing this song in the original production on Broadway. There is no contest. Brian Stokes Mitchell here, at Carnegie Hall, delivers a truly superior and memorable performance! Reba is lovely and endearing in this production as well. It is all just wonderful!!!

  • Yeah, I'm looking for his 'This Nearly Was Mine' also. His was my favourite version but I cant find it now :( Anyone know where I can find it?

  • "sigh" That was wonderful

  • Brian Stokes Mitchell and Reba McEntire are so wonderful in this concert. His voice just makes you swoon. Reba is a very talented actress, but I'm sure it didn't take much acting to be swept away by his voice. I love that big sigh she does at the end of his song. Yep - that sums it up!

  • Brian Stokes Mitchell has an AMAZING voice!

  • God, his voice is faint-worthy.

  • When a man and a woman sing a duet on stage, the woman usually blows the man away. This is an exception. Reba was stunned. Mitchell has the best American male voice of our time.

The composer was Richard Rogers, a great man simply because he could compose a melody like this.

  • @alnot01 I have heard that in the original production, Mary Martin was concerned that the male lead (I think Enzio Puzo) had such a powerful voice that he would drown her out in the duet parts of this song. Therefore, Rodgers and Hammerstein rewrote the song with the singers singing separately a lot more, with far fewer duets. So if that story is true, Brian Stokes Mitchell would not be the first man to blow the lady away

  • @ChicagoSouthDan Actually, I was thinking more of the earlier version of this song, in which it goes back and forth with them singing separately until they sing together briefly at the end. I had heard that orginally, there were a number of duets between the two of them.

  • Oh, what a gorgeous voice!!! Would you happen to have his "This Nearly Was Mine" as well? I feel like he would do it justice. :D

  • He did do it justice. It was magnificent. It was on YouTube for a while and then disappeared. Every song from this production is on YouTube except THIS NEARLY WAS MINE, and I haven't been able to find it ANYWHERE.

  • @witchygrrl

I heard his version of This Nearly Was Mine, it's my absolute favourite version, but seems to have vanished from Youtube. Would like to find it myself...

  • @JanikaRiddell I have not seen it on youtube, but a friend of mine purchased the video of the entire performance for $20. I have seen just the CD advertised online for $12. You may also be able to purchase just that song as an mp3 download.

  • @witchygrrl It is now posted. It is the second one down on the right, and he does a wonderful job with it.

  • @ChicagoSouthDan That literally made my morning, THANKS SO MUCH for letting me know! :D

  • @witchygrrl cendrillon325 posted it. just go to their channel and find it from there if u havent already.

  • What a great production this was! Brian Stokes Mitchell was fantastic as was Reba as Nellie Forbush.
