If someone gives crap to any1 about liking the music that one likes, that is just plain douchy. I do not think that you should take that sort of thing seriously, go ahead and listen either types of music if that is what you enjoy. Personally I usually feel more passionate resonances from other subgenres of metal, but death metal is usually just the musical equivalent of a horror/slasher/exploitation film, which I just cannot get enough of. Rap to me is just a "phase" for kids
I play in a Croatian Death metal band called Mardraum and I like to listen to Rock And Roll (ZZ top, Led Zeppelin bla bla) and Clasical music (bach, beethoven bla bla). Ofc Death, black and tresh metal is the music I like the most. But limiting yourslef on one thing dosent prove your a true metalhead just your lack of imagination. In the end its not important what others say you are but what you are and what you want to be.
Listen to whatever you want to listen to. By doing that, you are proving that you're a true metalhead. It proves that you listen to metal because you want to, and that you're not trying to prove anything to anybody. Metalheads should only take their own opinions into account when it comes to what they like. Posers listen to particular things to fit in, and avoid criticism of their tastes.
