Pretty Odd was awesome, but in a way i think the lack of popularity with this young veins record was that they went to far with the old fashioned recording processes on every track and the lack of variety. they should have compromised by modernising it to a degree like they did with the pretty odd record.
Panic is still my favorite...I just listen to their songs with Ryan and Jon. I really love Ryan, but I wish his style was still blouses and eyeliner. But whatever, if this is his new thing I can't hate him for it.

The thing that gets me is that the young veins have been around for how long? and they still havent taken off, dont get me wrong i like their sound, but i liked it when i heard it from the Beatles FIRST. You can tell how Ryan and Brendan were different. TYV sound very much like 'Pretty. Odd', where as PATD have gone back to sounding like 'A fever..' since Ryan left. I'm kind of glad for the split, cause you can hear each of their passions come through, but I hope they will find a middle-ground and do some stuff together :)

Yeah it's pretty simple and obvious why P!ATD broke up or with Ross & Walker leaving the band.
I think with Pretty. Odd. they were evolving and getting WAY better in my opinion.
And then approaching the third album Urie wanted to go back to that "Big Band, Theatricallity, Make-up" type deal. And then Ross and Walker were happy with the direction they were going - then the musical differences came.
And think The Young Veins are great. And I get it - 60's rule also so ya cant go wrong.
Listen to that beat, the organ and the guitar solo. It's a lot closer to the American garage bands who were inspired by The Beatles, rather than The Beatles themselves. Like something that could be on Nuggets, rather than Please Please Me, With the Beatles or A Hard Day's Night.

The instrumentals and song content sound just like something that would be on Please Please Me or A Hard Day's Night. Not to mention the video looks just like your average Beatles performance. i am not gonna lie when i first saw this( first time listening to ryan and jons new band) i thought they were mixing me up with the beetles like an old time of it since it was in black and white and they were all in tuxs and everything. holy cow ryan and jon. thats incredible !

I like Panic better. I am glad it went back to how it was. The only thing I don't like is that Ryan left, but I like the music better now that he has left.

Yeah it's pretty simple and obvious why P!ATD broke up or with Ross & Walker leaving the band.
I think with Pretty. Odd. they were evolving and getting WAY better in my opinion.
And then approaching the third album Urie wanted to go back to that "Big Band, Theatricallity, Make-up" type deal. And then Ross and Walker were happy with the direction they were going - then the musical differences came.
And think The Young Veins are great. And I get it - 60's rule also so ya cant go wrong.

Listen to that beat, the organ and the guitar solo. It's a lot closer to the American garage bands who were inspired by The Beatles, rather than The Beatles themselves. Like something that could be on Nuggets, rather than Please Please Me, With the Beatles or A Hard Day's Night.

@mandyyatthedisco they're not "taking inspiration" from the beatles. Everyone takes inspiration from the Beatles. TYV are flat out copying them. The instrumentals and song content sound just like something that would be on Please Please Me or A Hard Day's Night. Not to mention the video looks just like your average Beatles performance. Their outfits, their hair, the way they hold their instruments, hell..it's even in black and white. I love Ryan Ross, but this is fucking ridiculous.

I like this new band. But I will always have a soft spot for Panic. Brendan is still amazing. And so is Ryan. And the entire band is amazing too. So don't write off an entire band just because you're pissed off that the original band isn't all together anymore.
