OK your gonna go to a hobbie store and you gonna buy decent tires, a good motor, and a frame and speed control and all the stuff to build a new crawler. oh and the thing you bought from wall mart well it would make a nice thing for your new crawler to run over :D
You'll need to tear down the front axle assembly to solidify the front differential. You could use pretty much anything to do so...super glue,Elmers, epoxy or whatever... I like Hot glue, it's quick and painless...non the less pretty permanent too. It'll strip the gears before it breaks the glue.
The rear is already locked up so your covered there. You have to tear down the front and manually add glue or something to lock that diff. It isn't overly difficult - just make sure you have the proper sized Phillips head screwdriver when disassembling the front differential. - You should visit rcboard"dot"com for more specific details some pics etc.
as of right now it has a rim & tire conversion. I modified the suspension with some turnbuckles to get the articulation...since it flexes so much now I had to lift the body an inch so the tires wouldn't rub. I also took the front differential apart and hot glued it so it's now a locker, swapped out all the electronics for hobby grade stuff including the steering servo....it was a fun build, watching the crawling characteristics change with every mod.
i just bought my first crawler for 20 buys its a toys r us brand and it smashes iv had losi buggies and nitro trucks when i was a youngster but i love this i can goof around from my couch you cant beat that = even if your a rc geek nitro blows ive still got my nitro truck and its a pain in the ass
total failure. bl is way faster, dont contradict me. i have a revo 2.5r covertet to bl on 12 cells with a neu 1515 or feigao 6xl. both do over 55mph bu i prefer neu for more torque
stock gearing & motors....as of now that's about it. You should check out the web site, you'll find a bunch more info on my jeep and a few others too!
in this vid I had found some 9.6v NICd's with tamiya connectors w/chargers @ a local toy store for .85 ea. I bought a few of them. I wired two of them in parallel (soldered 2 sets of tamiya connectors off the stock board) to extend my run times.
- that worked very well as the power increased dramatically over the stock battery.
I've since chucked that stock stuff and have gone full hobby grade..a work currently in progress. I'll post more when it's finished.
I love this video, we demonstrated the power of the crawler.
He has a good facility a climb on the walls. On the rock, it will be quite strong and his speed crawling seems perfect. And I also noted that its high speed was respectable. This crawler promises us a lot. THANK for the video MERBURN
I can say that is not a New Bright. They always have the name New Bright on the top of the front window and yours dosent

dont waste your money on electric. invest in a nitro rc truck or car. way faster and more climbing power.
Airsoftmaster123 4 years ago
you wont be rock climbing with a nitro. But thanks for the tip....;-)

i guess your right dude. i have a New Bright rc FJ cruiser. Check out some of my vids about it. There like yours.
