We had stuff like these at Gateway in St. Louis,MO years ago for the nights of fire.As you said being down in the pit when they pop the engines to inch up to the starting line was awesome! I remember one night,they were a little close to the catwalk,and melted all the banners,as well as part of the catwalk.Good times!
450 is really really fast. Too bad they take so long to get up to speed. If we could get that figured out I bet we could get them to be faster then Top fuel dragsters. 5.00 seconds though is the fastest I've seen any jet truck go. That's a respectable time.
Which of the trucks was faster? I saw on another video that Super Shockwave accelerated better than Shockwave. Weren't there complaints for making noise after midnight?
@Aspro4, in this video the white truck in the near lane was faster. As for complaints, I'm sure there's complaints every year but I don't work for Castrol Raceway so I don't know for sure. We live on the other side of town and we can hear the nitro cars quite clearly from our house so I would think those who live closer would hear it a whole lot louder. However, the track is right by Edmonton International Airport so people who live close should expect noise.
I met Les at pax river Nas and watched Shockwave outrun a jet down the runway...everytime they blasted those jet engines it made the ground vibrate...nice guy...impressive ride

ive seen the bigger one before in muncie indiana, if you watch as they tire the afterburners with the throttle higher the aluminum body of the car hauler next to the track moves a little lol
@nashvilleraidersfan, thanks. I only went on Saturday but went with some friends and my son. Great day of racing. As for my cam, I use a Sony HDR-HDC3. My original footage is in 1080i but I dropped the resolution a bit to make it a smaller file to upload and I think it still looks pretty clear anyway.

Great vid dude. I didn';t video any of saturday because I was with friends and wanted to enjoy the show. Recorded most of sunday tho.
