  • Guess there are only 8k plus out of 300 million that get it! That is REALLY sad! How can blues loving folks not know how good Thackery is?!

  • I grew up with Jimmy Thackery as part of the Nighthawks in DC in the mid 70's of which he spent 14 years playing with. I remember them in 76 when I was very youing. An amazing player.

  • @janedoe1024 Me too... I lived in Rockville - did New years with them one year at the Bayou in Gtown. Is Mark Wenner still alive and well?

  • @prayfortruejustice

OH Yeah he's still in there, still jammin'...!! Just for old memories sake, I remember seeing the Nighthawks at the old Cellar Door in GTown back about the late 70's like '78 '79 and '80. Pretty young then, I was.(Does anyone remember the old Cellar Door?)Try their website. Also don't miss Santa Jam at State Theatre--Mark Wenner - Falls Church, VA 12/23/2010 (My home town). Peace out my friend. Rock on.

  • yeah thats some quality playing,,,,,without the video it is the band of gypsys,,,and with it still has jimmy lol,,,

  • Saw Derek Trucks and Joe Bonamassa do this--then 2 weeks later saw Jimmy do the same song...Both were equally brilliant!!!

  • This man has the "gift". See him it is spine chilling. Best player on the planet currently.

  • saw this guy in Wisconsin this last summer-AMAZING! one of the the best I've ever seen.I asked him about this song and HE said it was written by Buddy Miles.

  • This is the Hendrix song called "Who Knows" from the Band of Gypsys days.
