  • Granted, that the content of this vid is waaaaay before my time, lol, I thought it was still cool stuff to see for collectors and afficionados...but I was just curious about the song selection. I LOVE the song, but I didnt see how the two fit w/ each other? *shrugs...oh well....regardless...it was a cool video! :)

  • Damnation! This really brings back a lot of memories! I remember nearly all of those magazines, albums, and model kits. Had most of 'em!

  • I still have that "Famous Monsters Speaks" album from way back when and remember most of the words. "Who is there? Who comes to the crypt of Count Dracula? Who disturbs the sleep of the Vampire?"

What ever happened to Forry Ackermann? I believe he's still alive but he's gotta be way up there in years! My daughter met him during the 1990's at a FM convention in LA, along with a bunch of other cool people like Al Lewis.

  • @LesbianVampireLover I always wanted that album as a kid, and I recently found it on CD. Way cool. I'm sorry to say that Forry Ackerman passed away not long ago. When news got out that he was ailing, the fan community really stepped-up and showed him how much he meant to so many of us. Thanks for writing. I'm going to check out your channel now.

  • 3:36 The Aurora kits in either the long box or the square box. THESE were the real ticket. I had loads of these when I was a kid (early 70's) and the repros from Polar Lights theyhave now are just as nice, and really take you back to the day.

They even have that special smell when you opened them..the plastic, the cardboard box, and the ink on the instruction sheet..they merged to create an arome like no other in the annals of monster kit history!

    Aurora-the KING of plastics!

  • Shawnster65: That smell! You are so right. Opening those boxes was like a ritual. First you studied the box art forever, then you shook the kit slightly to hear that distinct "plastic" sound, imagining what the pieces would look like. Then you opened the box and the first thing you did was take-in that scent. Monster-kid bliss.

  • Thanks! And thanks for the sub. I subscribed to you as well.

  • I remember most of these things and even had a few of the toys. Good times!

  • Good times indeed. Thanks!

  • this is the best!!!!! Love it!!!! I am a huge monster/horror fan!! great job you did!!!

  • Thanks, HJ. Always great to meet a fellow "monster kid." I hope to have another video up soon. I'll check out your page as well.

  • Beautiful! I finally got around to checking it out. Nice work man!

  • Thanks! That means a lot to me coming from the Cap'n. Your "45s" series is like my favorite thing on Youtube.

  • EXCELLENT GORILLAMONKEY!! WOW! I am speechless. There were toys that I had in that video that I would have NEVER remembered if not for this. The Green Ghost game, Kooky Spookys, World Famous Super Monster action figures. I had all of that stuff. What is mind blowing is at 3:11, the group of figures (7 of them) I JUST FOUND one of those (one in the VERY back-3rd from the left, green with fins for ears lol) at my moms house about 3 months ago!! Thanks for the memories! Wow...

  • Wow, what a coincidence! That figure you found is one of the Colorforms Space Men, also known as Colorforms Aliens. They're worth a lot to collectors. I had the entire set and lost every one of 'em! I'm jealous. Thanks for the kind words, dude.

  • I thought I knew a lot about vintage movies. I'm surprised to find how little I know about the old creature films

  • The good news is that means there's a lot of cool stuff out there for you to discover. Have fun!

  • The Good Old Days! Cool video Master Konuma.

  • I hear you, mrc. Thanks. You and I are probably the only two people left who know who Master Konuma is.

  • wow!that brought back many fond memories.great job on your first video.seeing this makes me wish i was a kid again...carefree and happy.looking forward to your next.

  • Thanks, Commander! You're exactly the kind of person I had in mind when I made it.
