  • About 8 years ago I bought a 200 year old writen copy of the picatrix in latin and have never even tryd to translate it lol got it and lost intrest.. it wound up in a storage unit and this is the first im hearing of it causeing weird things being around it cuz the week i got it and was around it i had visions that came true told my moms bf he was gonna have an anurism and an hour later he did.. I knew where there was a crap load of coper went there and it was there took it and made 4k sellin it.

  • greetings sir, will you be kind and send me the 3rd and 4th book of the Picatrix?

because i only have found the 1st and 2nd book translated from you and thank you

  • We brought out books I & II as an interim translation, but the Complete Picatrix is now available on Amazon. We are not bringing out a separate publication of books III & IV. Also I am not giving away free copies since it took us 2 years to translate.

  • @renaissanceastrology well ok than mate ill just read the german fully translated Picatrix, which is on the warburg institute web-site

    take care

  • They are also versions available in Spanish, French, Latin and Arabic, so if you can read those languages you don't need an English translation.

  • Another benefit of the material you've posted is teaching people how to pronounce things. A lot of us have "book learning."

  • There are a few translations of Picatrix in English now. Does anyone recommend any particular translation, or advise against any particular edition ?

  • There are only two translations of Picatrix in English, the Ouroboros translation from Arabic in hardcover in 2 volumes and the Greer/Warnock translation of the Latin Picatrix in 1 volume. Since I am one of the translators of the Latin Picatrix I am somewhat biased, however, the Ouroboros Picatrix has been widely criticized for being difficult to understand at best and frequently unintelligible which removes any advantage it may have as a translation from Arabic.

  • @renaissanceastrology

There is no shame in favoring your own work. Arabic often translates badly into English. Do you regard Picatrix as being the usual Hermetic green language dissembling like Jabir Ibn Hayyan or is it a more open text ? Obviously I haven't read Picatrix, but I know it by reputation.

  • Traditional astrology, unlike its sister Hermetic art alchemy, is generally presented in a very straightforward manner in traditional sources. Once you have mastered traditional (not modern!) astrology and have an understanding of Hermetic & Neoplatonic philosophy, then our translation of Picatrix is relatively clear. This is not such an easy task on your own, however. My Astrological Magic Course is essentially, a complete introduction to the astrology, magic and philosophy of Picatrix.

  • well, if the Catholic church didn't like this, then it must be good!

  • your a very smart man, keep up the great vids!

  • Far Out!

  • Yes i like to know that too which music you are playing during the video!!

  • This is music by Nigel Jackson, the artist who created many of the original talisman images as well. It is not commercially available.

  • Thank you so much! I've been looking for information on this for years.

Can you please tell me where I can get the great music you play during the video?

  • It's intriguing to note that you posted this on my (alter ego's) birthday this year - I'll take that as a hint of it's potential significance. Merci beaucoup!

  • Thnaks. Interesting stuff. Do you know about the Manitoba Legislature? One big talisman.

    Take care.

  • I have spoken with Frank Albo, who asked me whether traditional (pre-1700) electional astrology, which is used for talismans, had been used in selecting the time for building the Manitoba Legislature. I took a look at the chart, which actually would not have been a good time astrologically. Since it had died out and the techniques lost traditional electional astrology was not used for any buildings after about 1700, to my knowledge.

    thanks and regards,

  • The North Node, also known as the Caput Draconis or Dragon's Head is one of the two points where the Moon's orbit intersects the ecliptic. It is benefic while the South Node, or Cauda Draconis, the Dragon's Tail is malefic.

As far as the question you refer to, I am not sure what you are talking about.
