  • Any politician that comes out and says something this stupid needs to be voted out.

If you don't understand how improving the healthcare industry would ultimately help our economy then you're a fucking idiot.

  • Teddy Roosevelt, our last great Republican President, & Harry Truman pushed for health care proposals, but the insurance companies keep delaying so they can rape us some more.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

  • This is only one reason we are having: March for Change we Still believe in - Jan 15, 2010 in Washington DC. We voted overwhelmingly for Health Care and other issues that are being stalled. Come out and have your voice heard again. Facebook page: Countdown to Jan 15th. JOIN US!!!

  • Stop trying to give away someone else's labor and education to make yourself feel good about not being an actual contributor to the human race.

When GW asked for people to do charitable work it was laughed at by the media. But now that Chairnan Obama has asked for it, even NBC has taken up the cause. And you brainwashed slugs don't even miss a beat in condeming Bush while praising Obama. You just flip some switch in your mind. RESET! DIIIING!

  • Lugar shut up and NO we wont put it aside. Screw You and all the Republcians

  • This sounds like a good idea, as long as congress agrees to cancel their government insurance in the meantime.

  • LOL Let's kill some more people before we think about saving any..

  • 0:20 "...the essentials, War and Money."

Sounds like a GOP oath to me

  • Maybe business' have issues paying for healthcare... maybe its time to take away that burden. Maybe we should stop profiting off of sick people!

    SINGLE PAYER!

  • Maybe you should stop trying to give away someone else's labor and education to make yourself feel good about not being an actual contributor to the human race.

  • what?

  • get dangerous meat clowns out of politics

  • Lugar, ..

    .. i have dreams too ..

.. dreams of autoerotic personal pleasure..

.. and I have them just about every night ..

.. so wake up and get a clue!

.. We don't want to know about your dream last night .. You know .. the one where you were giving yourself a bukkakke sunrise ..

  • instead, let's delay lugar's health care for a year, especially if he needs chemotherapy

  • Exactly! What a bunch of hypocrites.

  • I came twice to pictures of women dressed as fairies

  • No health care for Citizens - no health care for Congress or Senate. We wait - you wait - we all wait.

  • They dont give a fuck

    1. they can afford to buy insurance on their own.

    2. No sane insurance company would reject Member of Congress due to preexisting conditions.

    3. They would get sweet deals - Friends of Angelo kind of thing.

    :-(

  • Many members have actually spoken about how companies have rejected them or members of their immediate family.

  • More Wars = More PROFITS for the DEFENSE contractors of America.

More Pollution = More PROFITS for the OIL, COAL & CHEMICAL corporations of America.

More Sick = More PROFITS for the Insurance and Pharmaceutical Companies of America.

No Healthcare Reform = More Campaign money to the LEGISLATORS who oppose health care reform. More Profits for Legislators and Lobbyists.

America is owned by the Corporations.

America is for, of and by Corporations. America is a Corpa-cracy

  • No Health care Reform = More Profits for Insurance, Pharmaceutical company lobbyists and their cronies in congress.

  • The truth is insurance reform will mean MORE profits for insurance companies, because the pool of insureds will grow when we are required to obtain insurance.

The MAIN reason insurance companies are fighting the current reform proposal is because of the govt mandate requiring that insurers cover pre-existing conditions; this is the best way the govt has to force competition because otherwise, insurers would just dump the sickest people into the public system.

  • Ben and Jerry's is a corporation. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is a corportion. Green Party USA, the Libertarian Party, the Teamsters Union, SEIU, MADD, SADD and GLADD are ALL corporations. Even AMERICA is a corporation: what part of "we the people" don't you get?

"Corporations" aren't the root of all problems, in fact the opposite is true: never doubt that a small, thoughtful group of individuals can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

  • We won't deny that there is currently a relatively small group of corporations wielding a disproportionate amount of influence on our govt, but this is a problem of campaign finance, and political access, not of "corporate personhood."

  • cut Lugar's salary and health care

  • War is important than healthcare.

Translation : Killing people abroad and at home simultaneously.

No Health care reform kills millions of uninsured Americans.

  • Then, Lugar in 2010:

"I think we need to focus on the essentials. We should put health-care off until 2011."

    Repeat.

Why don't we just lower DoD spending (currently 21% of all federal spending/$613Billion a year)? If you ended the wars, and brought the troops home from other countries, like Germany and Japan, you could easily pay for health-care for all. Stupid Repubs.

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • Lugar is an old fool.

  • Lugar: Delay Health Care Debate Till Next Year - Since when did the GOP care about providing affordable health care? The medicare part D and A was a gift to the free market corporations that contributed to further decline in medicare.

  • GOP essentials: War and money!

    that is well summed up

  • Why would anyone take Republican advice on any issue?

  • Why doesn't Senator Luger suspend his healthcare insurance until the issue of war is resolved and the healthcare debate can resume?

What a shameful ploy. One would think or at least hope the United States Congress can multi task.

  • The idea that the United States Senate can't deal with multiple important issues is ludicrous. There is a reason why there are so many goddamn committees. Delaying health care would just prove that the United States Senate is not equipped with dealing with contemporary issues, as it has time and time again.

  • Antiquated, outdated bit of 18th century legislative engineering.

In sleepier, agrarian, horsedrawn carriage days, maybe it made sense to have a chamber designed to keep almost any kind of boat-rocking political change from happening (as long as you weren't a sharecropper or a slave).

But it's a terrible, even disastrous fit for this day and age. It's plain as day.

  • Yes, I agree completely. Anyone working in any job has to multi-task. The Congress is no different.

Actually, they have passed a number of less sweeping bills during this year's health care debate. So obviously they are able to do some work.

Senator Lugar's suggestion is a transparent attempt to derail the momentum of health insurance reform.

  • sol3dg3:

    I agree.

It's pathetic that the GOPers have been ignoring or delaying any significant Health Care Reform for 50 years or more.

They obviously believe that the Health of other Countries are more important than the Health of Americans.

The Neo GOP is the Party of "NO." They are blocking at least 100 bills in Congress... all just to make Obama look ineffectual.

  • The Republicans are trying everything to keep Health Care Reform from taking place.

I say HELL NO to any delay - keep it moving until it becomes law.
