Not hard coupling at all. VERY soft. Someone teach the conductor how to give hand signals also.

why is are there american couplings on a german train?

hard coupling? when i couple cars at the yard I work at, no matter how much warning I give, they usually hit at 5-6 MPH, (Fully loaded coal cars)

They didn't hit hard at all. That was smooth, but that was the longest I have seen a crew take to couple a car.....

Yea, I agree...But you must agree the conductor sure had a look on his face! I thought they never would have got it coupled either...
