hey dude...sadly iam too young to own a mustang, but we will c what the time will bring... =)
i heard, that the mustang just a small 40litres fuel reservoir... true or false ?
and if its true...how far can u go with it.. ? with such a load of horsepower i cant believe u can get pretty far with it, right? especially , if u drive like the mustang style =D
@KnightRiderChrissi the fuel tank holds 16gal(60.6L) and on the highway you could probably go around 400 miles(643K...i think). It does pretty well on the highway, but not so good in the city with a lot of stop and go driving.
@55stangdude what, for real ? 643km... wow... but i think it depends on your kind of driving how long u can drive at the highway...i know, that i wouldnt drive just 70 80 miles or something... ;)
But in the city, how long can u drive with it... ? I have the scary impression, that u can watch the fuel reservoir getting more and more empty...^^ pls tell me iam wrong xD
@ReverseWhiplash i dont believe there is a "break-in" period like on the older cars...some people drive the hell outta them right off the lot.I like to take it easy for the first 2000-3000 miles, but thats just me.Right now,6000 miles...time for my 2nd oil change this weekend...
Ahh ok thanks! Just be careful with those dealerships! They always try and get you to come in and pay them to change the oil like every 4 months or so.
no offense cause we all know the mustang looks fierce but you should order the no drill hood scoop for the hood i know a guy that did it for his grey one and it looks incredible
I have a question above that too. Is the gas mileage as good as they put it? I have a mustang and that thing chugs really bad... like a 50 mile drive burns through a quarter of a tank...
I got a best of 26mpg on a drive thru the state of Texas on the way to the coast...in town, around 15-16mpg.I believe thats what Ford says also.Should do even better once its broken in.
i was so tempted to buy this car when i couldnt find this fusion hybrid i wanted, but sadly and fortunatly i found my baby charcoal grey fusion with navi and gas/electric hybrid engine. im sure i would have loved the mustagng just as much
Also, if the car has been sitting a while the tires may have flat spotted. This will work itself out once you warm the tires up on the highway. If the vibration continues, you may start to hear some tire noise which is a classic sign of an alignment issue. If you want your tires to last longer than 10k miles I recommend some adjustable caster/camber plates. I ate through my tires in less than 10k miles and never once burned rubber :) Drives like a dream not that I fixed the problem.
When I bought my 06' GT the first thing I noticed was vibration in the steering wheel. Ford could not fix it so I took it to a Mustang Performance specialist "Fastlane Motorsports" and they discovered the alignment was off. Apparently, Ford does not align these cars from the Factory because there is no adjustment for caster, toe, and camber. I installed a set of Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber plates and re-aligned it. This corrected the vibration issue. This is a must for long tire life.

How many miles does it take to "brake in" the Mustang?
I've had mine since August 27th, 2009...and I only have 2170 miles on it. (yes I'm babying her. lol)
