Comparing Buckethead and MAB together is like comparing up and down. While both are heavy into music theory their styles are completely different. Buckethaeds style is a lot looser than MAB's. Personally I love watching both of them do what they do, but I'ld rather watch and listen to Buckethead. To me his music flows freer.

Not dissing buckethead, I just dont see how people think he is the greatest. None of what he does is even that amazing or hard. Dont get me wrong, he is a great guitarist and some of his stuff actually sounds pretty good. I personally dont see him as the greatest.

i do actually play. Been playing for about 12 years. Like I said, he isnt bad.. just not the greatest like everyone says in my opinion. Im more into stuff like vai, satch, or even petrucci. Something like this is the kind stuff i like. Watch it all the way through. Sound is kind of crap so you might have to turn it up.

@enoch723 Steve Vai does play well, but he sounds like all the other fret-wankers out there, M.Angelo, Petrucci etc. They all just run through speed exercises and show off, it's bollocks. Vai is LITERALLY wanking his guitar off @0.33. Buckethead is avant garde for a reason. I could listen to all Buckets albums back to back forever. Try listerning to M.A.Batio for 5 seconds. He might be the fastest in the world, but his music is so shit it's undesribable.

@William1st What's wrong with MAB? I listen to buckethead and him as well and I like MAB. He's a great guitarist with amaizing technique who inspires me. And his music isn't that bad. He honestly has some good music. Don't just listen to No Boundaries and say that's all michael angelo batio is. That's just like listening to Jordan and saying That's all bucketehad can do.

@William1st He isn't as melodic as buckethead but MAB makes some nice music. It just depends if you find the shredding appealing or not. every MAB track has shredding involved because that's his forte really so if that kind of playing isn't for u then nobody can force you to like him. Just like how some people claim that buckethead plays mechanically and without emotion due to the shredding. But if you're willing to look at all aspects of his playing then you'll probably find something you like.

@LehmannDaHero BH has heaps of shred, I love it! But he also has all the lovely stuff that goes with it. It plays off each other so it works. If all you've got is shred, it's too 1 dimensional and subsequently gets tedious very fast. I guess all I've heard from MAB is the deadly shred, and don't get me wrong, I'd fight for him to be voted fastest player ever, but I've not come across the lovely stuff yet. Just not yet.

@7xXx666xXx7 no actually, that's part of the song. It begins with a pattern around the 7th & 10th fret on the low E string,and the 9th & 10th fret on the A string. It is repeated twice the first time, followed by a different pattern, lower down the neck, and then the first pattern is repeated only opening with the 6th fret instead of the 7th the first time.
