Kid Icarus is possibly the first game that's designed to punish Speedrunning.

I read you could on a FAQ, but only in the japanese version. It seems they had that as the worst, all the other endings were one better then they are in the american release and our best ending (the kiss) wasn't in it.

Luckily, I have an actual Famicom and a Famicom Disk System along with the game disk...the hard part is doing poorly enough to get that ending :)

This is the ending you normally get after the first run-though with the game, much like Metroid. You don't get the 'good ending' until the second go around.

Basiclly, you've shown me what I've already seen many times over. It's not a 'bad ending' it's just the 'ending.'

Interesting, I didn't know there was that ending. I remember the first time I beat the game, Pit was given a helmet and spear. So it seems there must be 4 endings to this game.

Ending 1: Pit gets a hat and puts on a lame face towards Palutena.

Ending 2: Pit gets a helmet and a spear.

Ending 3: Pit grows up to become a man.

Ending 4: Pit grows up to become a man, gets a kiss from Palutena and has a all the escapade happening in the background.
