I speak English rather than American English. Why do Americans refer to the diminutive math rather than maths which we use for mathematics . My spell check has underlined in red math as incorrect. Do Americans understand the use of maths in a sentence? or will it jar as much as 'math' to our English ear. However, we do understand when math is used as to it's meaning. Please feel free to correct any misspellings or grammar in this message.
