Had i made it, i would have made it slightly different. I would have shot the initial part in B&W. Colors don't mean much for blind people. Blind people see the world in "presence or absence" of things. Hence B&W.
In the last scene, as the flower appears, it would change to color, revealing the beautiful colors of the flower and the lady's dress, signifying the arrival of love and the torrent of emotions it brings.

those were my first thoughts too but it was too time consuming as everything would have had to be colored manually..also we wanted to make something in color, considering the first film we made was on a 16mm camera using actual film so it was black and white anyway. I guess next time onwards we will be experimenting more.
good thought and its good that you are focusing on symbolism but remember that the best kind of symbolism is the kind that is either put in a film by mistake or perfectly hidden from the audiences cauntious and only hits there subcauntious. The black and white would work for the entire film but the change to colour is to obvious.
