hipsters are basically the 21st century Generation X:16-30 years old, "libertarian", dresses pseudo-punk, witty tee shirts, smokes Djarum cigarettes, maybe is gay, listens to a lot of snobby indie music while reading Dave Eggers and drinking fair trade coffee. The hate 'mainstream' anything, but they dont realize that they love the same 'non-mainstream' as every other hipster.

For the record, I dont consider GBV to be hipster at all. But the lo-fi sound sometimes makes their ears prick up.

well the reality is that all people do emulate certain lifestyles based on their interests, "birds of a feather..." and sure, they are easy to poke fun at. if everybody's style were truly unique, we wouldn't have anybody to share our interests in. so being able to categorize people isnt necessarily a bad thing. its the fine line between making generalizations and making stereotypes that can be an issue. anyways i digress. the point is, i love this song almost as much as "Yours to Keep"!
