@skoockum Not a lot, but maybe 5 or 6 when I do. I've been up that way many times, on the motorcycle and by car, and I see bicycles about half of the time.
Dont feel bad I felt the same way.Just was there riding with my dad. We did that mountain twice last week and was a little nervus myself..But it was a AWESOME RIDE.
@DJCipster4BREAKS LOL - I had to re-watched that bit, and I did see you look over the edge, and then swing from the right to the left side of the lane - hahahaaa
I've watched a fair number of motovlogs now and I have to say that this split screen you've used is probably the best I've seen. The helmet cam gave a completely different perspective than the tank mounted cam, I found myself watching sections a second time to make sure I got both views. Really liked your info blurbs, short and sweet but helpful. I like videos from someone at my own riding level, keep ones like this coming!
@Baggahammers Thanks so much, that's a really nice thing to say, and I really appreciate the positive feedback. I've said it before, that I stole the split screen idea from Downshift83, but it is something I want to keep playing with.
Sorry to hear you're at my riding level (hahahaa) but no worries, we'll both improve :-)
@Fuzion180 LOL - that really did seem to be my catchphrase that day - but it was also the first time i used that camera on a vlog, so still getting used to turning it on while riding and being able to tell when it's on and recording.
@havedogwillscooter I'd actually like to see some of that footage, ya know, to look at how I was taking corners. Almost analyze it to see what I can do better, ya know.
Just a simple thing to keep in the back of your mind....the quicker you turn your head, the quicker the bike will turn. If you dont believe me, try it some time. When you sense yourself going wide like that, snap that head around as fast as possible and you will get back on line.
I was not aware you were having problems. Kinda scary. I have driven this stretch
over 67 times. I know every curve and the road conditions. I think I was slow the first few times. The best way to get good in the curves is to take it at a speed you are comfortable with. The more you do it the better you will get.
@cashstore1 not really problems, just got too focused on Cip's fine ar$e (LOL) and tense because of the bumpy roads, and a self-imposed pressure to 'keep up'
@emptym01 Yeah, I agree the feeling one has to keep up. I was like that the first time I went to the Dragon. I learned to push it, but within my capabilities. I have often thought about a person doing something horribly wrong on a spirited ride. I don't want to be there when that happens. Your skill will come with practice.
gorgeous country.. do you see many bicycles between Prescott and Jerome?

@Wilks89 Yup, it's all stuff I know in my head, but it's not 'second nature' for me yet, so like many have said.. practice practice practice :)

This is one of the reasons I tell people to ride their own ride. Really easy to focus on the guy in front of you and not the road itself.
Kodiak31415 1 year ago
@Kodiak31415 Yup
I thought (wrongly) that because of the slower traffic that I could keep up.
The way I figure... that was my one free pass, so... a good lesson learned
