At least you fans got a race instead of nothing. Either Michelin could've ran that tire and safety would've been thrown out the window or they could run the Bridgestone teams.
@chilliformulaone you can't blame the Grand Prix or the track, the real blame here was the Michelin tyres that weren't good enough for turn 13. If Bridgestone had failed as well, i would agree with the blame on the USGP, but the blame is 70% on Michelin, and 30% on Mosley and Todt
does anybody know where i can find the itv live coverage of this, i worked away this weekend and never saw an english version, watched it in french (muted ofcourse) even though its a boring race i just want to see the build up or 1st few laps to hear brundle etc talk. hope someone can help, looked for years and never found anything
This GP just showed what F1 was back then. Seven teams wanted the shicane, nine teams aggreed, but Ferrari didn't. Even when the stake was the reputation of F1.
@12398batista other cars were running michelin tyres and those tyres were not good enough to last the whole race. cos of the regulations at that time, teams could not change tyres during the race. so if the other cars had ran they would have gone out of tyres and end up crashing
I did find the start (see 0.09) interesting, from a race point of view, to see the tactics and race lines the drivers used - they were much different to normal because of the weird half-empty grid. The race was a procession though, a shame as Indianapolis was normally such a good circuit.
Formula 1 cars and the whole sport are based on sheer engineering, every minute detail is based on precise engineering, the F1 cars are very distinct from NASCAR....the streamline appearence of the car speaks thousand words...the colour of the NASCAR cars are turn off looks like the kids toys...Fuck NASCAR & its lovers...F1 forever, MICHAEL SCHUMACHER,SENNA,KIMI,LEWIS,ALONSO.......hail F1.
vaya mierda de carrera

@EddieVF Todt had nothing to do with it. Paul Stoddart said in an interview that Jean Todt never turned up to the meeting.

Trulli must of been the most put out because he got pole position and if he would of won would of got toyota a lot more points and attention
MattMK45 1 year ago
@MattMK45 Thats a big if. He never would have won. There would have just been another Trulli train and he woulda got mugged in the stops.
muddwell 1 year ago
@MattMK45 If that happened, it would have been Toyota's first and only victory in F1 aswell.

This has to be the shortest f1 highlight clip ever. Cars go out warm up most cars come back in 6 race they do a bunch of hotlaps YOU GET THE PICTURE.

That was the only time I watched the start of the race and turn off the TV before it finished. What a waste of my time.
