This demo opened my mind and made me see the truth.. well maybe not, but it made me think "I wanna do something similar too, this is just too cool" I had the mod recorded on c-casette, used to listen it all the time. Jester was my biggest idol.
PQP galera, um dos mais impressionantes computadores que eu tive em toda minha vida. Esta música me faz lembrar toda minha adolescência. CARACA acho que nunca mais veremos um computador tão maneiro quanto foi os AMIGA. Aprendi LightWave nele e uso até hoje este soft, OUTSTANDING!!!!!
still art, scrollytext, color blending, code-only 2d/3d animation/texturing...elysium had all the staples and then some. not to mention my favorite track of all time, jester's mod.elysium. demos don't get any better in my book, past or present.
ps. i can't believe he made that mod and didn't even have his own machine...that's freaking nuts
Well, not so plain xD Mine has the 256kb expansion in it... I meant no accelerators, nor extra memory beyond 512kb. I don't think it would work with only 256, but who knows xD...
Well, if you have the curiosity for that, you may try running games and demos with only 256kB.
Some software will run, other ones will behave well and display a (usually half-assed) message saying that you need at least 512kB of memory. Other software will simply assume you don't have less than 512kB and will crash.
Some software assume you have 512kB of CHIP memory as the bare-minimum standard (granted, 99,99% of all Amigas, even A1000s, had at least that) and will crash, some in weird ways.
The are also some games/demos which need 1MB and expect the additional memory to be mapped at the specific address of the A500 512kB expansion. At least once a software insulted me saying I did not have enough memory, while the A1000 had 2MB of additional fast ram.
A1000s are quite a curiosity in the Amiga world, many (most?) not supporting the (almost useless) EHB mode, kickstart stored in a special RAM, unstandard connectors and so on.
Finally this demo is brought up to the surface. One of my favourites demos. Very fast routines and great music! 144 vector bobs in 3d ,morphning included and ofcourse runing in realtime on an amiga 500. I am impressed!.
Jester was the best genius in amiga music !

Absolutely amazing demo for its time. It's got pretty much every demo cliche you can think of...except spinning donuts :)
I've been listening to this tune off and on for years, it's always been a favourite in my collection.
