clapton was so much better then he is just too lazy to progress plays same riffs over and over. love him then not too fond of him now. Listen to a true guitar god Jeff Beck just keeps going forward
i first watched this concert in me friend's house, he had the most amazing surround sound system installed. we just sat mesmerized through it. walking down the street that day, everything - real life - felt so quiet, and grey, and dead, in comparison.
watching it again on youtube feels like... i dunno, sipping coffee while remembering that one magical time taking lsd? lol
Some people are trying to say that FREE was better than CREAM!!!! Oh my GORD...it's like comparing the Jimmy Henrix Experience to Creedance Clearwater Revival!!!!!!
@Thoth52 Bruce & Baker didn't get along well even before Cream. Too bad.
"Equipment during these years had also got better; new Marshall amplifier stacks cranked out more power, & Bruce pushed the volume levels higher, creating tension for Baker who would have trouble competing with roaring stacks. Clapton spoke of a concert during which he stopped playing & neither Baker nor Bruce noticed. Clapton has also commented that Cream's later gigs mainly consisted of its members showing off."
This is my favorite version of this song. It's so heavy and intense at the climax. It's also the last song they played together. Thats what heavy about it. I believe they played one of their best shows at the Albert Hall that night, minus maybe Jack's vocals. But you could tell they were all feelin it.
