i found an easy way of completing this though.. under the kinda "bridge" of tree or something you can run around in circles around the tree. since the tree sap eventually "recharges" you can just run around that tree and shoot til he eventually dies. :P just if someone is as short tempered as me this really helped.

Man, I spent three straight days of playing this one part, trying to kill that bastard. Memorized levels, learning where the sap was, as I ran away from him with the camera facing him. And you do it in like 2 minutes -.- I think my difficulty was a LITTLE harder though ;)

you know how i beat this bastard? since i was playing on hard , this mofo would always kill me especially when i was so close to beating him. so after like the 6th try im like fuck it. there's a tree near the fire pit that has blue resin on it. so i played ring around the rosie with him , running around the tree making sure he's not too close, and then when he'd get near the resin i'd shoot it, then run around until resins grows again, then shoot it etc. etc. until killed him after long battle.
