i forget where i read it, but in some star wars book it says just where yoda kept that ship after landing, i think parts of it were used to make the foundations of his house seen in episode v

I love this as a deleted scene. It's realy terriffic. I Just think the movie is already so full , and I much rather see the Qui-gon scene reincorparated. Which I feel is much more important. I just think this particular scene let's the cat outa the bag when it comes to people that watch the Star Wars for the firt time. Where Yoda is , is better as a mystery until we get to the Empire Strikes Back. At least my opinion , anyway.

I really love this scene... I guess we have Rick McCallum to blame. Even though we know where Yoda ends up, couldn't the same debate be made as to knowing where Luke and Leia ended up?

i think it was taken out so that in the future, a story of yodas exile could be expanded for example maybe he went to other planets first, fought a few battle ect at least this way the story is open for expantion

Cause the movie was already so full , and it really wasn't 100% nessisary. Just my opinion , where Yoda ends up is better left as a mystery until Luke finds him. Not that this isn't a great scene to watch , and I love that they finishd it somewhat and put it in the DVD.

@erdly it was deleted because rest of the ending scenes was showing what happend to the members of Skywalker family, so Yoda didn't fit. but yeah, I love this scene too :)

its such a shame that they didn't put this in. they showed luke being brought to tatooine, leia to alderaan...then all we heard from yoda is that hes going into exile. i think they could have managed the extra 36 seconds to WOW the audience and bring the movies into full circle.

This was such a great little scene -- one of the few for me that seemed to bring back the atmosphere of the original movies. Shame to cut it but wonderful that we got to see it. Thanks for posting it!

On the subject of the Vader-apparition, it was an incarnation of Luke's own fears of succumbing to the Dark Side and becoming like Darth Vader himself, which is why his own face was underneath the mask. The cave was indeed the site of a Dark Jedi's death where he supposedly was slain by another Jedi of Yoda's unnamed species.
