Dang, HgOuTitar... ok here's what I do. Pound on it with my fist about a hundred times. Then dunk it in boiling water for 10 minutes. Take it out, spray with acid. Get your shotgun, empty a box or two of .12ga buckshot into it. Shout degrading insults until it starts to cry. Have it photographed in public wearing only ladies undergarments. Put photos on internet. Spread embarrassing rumors to other gloves about it's tiny laces.
hey guys, i need a new glove and its between the rawlings heart of the hide and the a2000. any suggestions?? also tell me other good gloves in the $180-$220 ranges. tthanks
I am a person who dunks it in water..let it soak in the water for a few minutes, and when you take it out put a ball in the pocket and then put either clamps or rubber bands around it. Once that is done let it sit for a couple of days. Once you take off the clamps it will feel very stiff, but a great pocket is formed as a result of the water. Then be kind of rough with the glove and loosen it up the the how you like it and your set!
no oil!! sure it will break in faster but it will become flimsy a whole lot quicker.. then you will need to buy a new one. people at the store dont tell you that. and any pro player will tell you that they dont use oils.
to all the people who are asking about baby oil. never do that. baby oil makes it really heavy. i mean, it works. but unless u want your glove to weigh 5 pounds, i wouldnt recommend using that. just buy the baseball glove oils out there for like 5 bucks
@sharpshoter630 yeah i have a easton natural elite the cathers glove does not have to full shut only so that it can hold the ball i broke it in, in a day just play and pound it
i need a new glove and i'm debating on the Rawlings pro preferred bergundy and tan one or the Evan Longoria A2000. they are both 11 3/4. Reply to this because i need some other perspectives on this. I also play SS/3B if that makes any difference and i'm 15
Thank u guys very much helped a lot. Ppl try this trick work out for me good. Put shaving cream in the desired spots and microwave it for 45 secs. to 1 min. works great.
I try to work it in to the thumb and the pinky fingers meet up. This way when you go for a ground ball (if your mi infeild like me) you will have more room and a bigger pocket to catch the ball. Also if you wanna work it in nice just use the damb glove! I use a easton professional 11. 3/4 and i like it!
i like to my glove with foam stuff (dont know what its called) then i hit it with a hammer and put a baseball inside it and wrao it up with a rubber ban inside a bag and put it under my bed for 2 or 3 weeks.
my cousin just bought a Rawlings 12 3/4 HOH gold glove series and it was like $235 new, baught it black and went and got red laces put in it, trust me you wont see it around. took us a long time to break it in tough as glove
i would go with a Nokona they are pricey but they wont let you down, when i play 2nd i use a Nokona amg1200 12in, and if they play me and 1st i use a Nokona 12.5 bloodline, real nice gloves, but if you want one that arent that expensive and are playing infield i like the Wilson A2000 1796-B 11.75in
@rwoodbaseball46 i had had a lot of gloves, the best way is just to play catch with it, also you can use saving cream(make sure its foam) Best way just play catch.
just bought a Rawling Heart of the hide outfielders mit and it feels amazing. Working on oiling and wrapping thenim going into just straight up working it out.
Just got the nokona proline 12 inch glove for 189.99 So sick can't wait til i get it Brocken in. It does seem like it might a little to break in but very good looking glove and worth the money.
@JJHof159 there is many gold glove models that cost way more than a hundred dollars dip shit. mine is just 200 like i said. i think i no what kind of glove i got dumbass. so check ur facts.
@blowmykehawkyo dont take this the wrong way but who the hell spends $ on a glove that you'll probably only use for one season. Im not saying walmart gloves are good but go to Dickssporinggoods or sports authority
Obviously you dont know real baseball players. . .we have spring season, usually one or two summer seasons, and a fall season as well. . i remember when I was in full swing, I only got a 2 week break off from ball before going into winter training. . .
@blowmykehawkyo first of all go fuck urself. secondly i wasnt even speaking to u so mind ur own fuckin business. n i never said anything about ur glove. n there are no Rawlings Gold Glove models worth $200 so u can eat me. now u can take ur shit Mizuno glove n shove it directly up ur ass.
@SonnyFB42 i mean no disrespect, but technically the Rawlings Heart of The Hide gloves are part of the "gold glove series" it has a patch right on the glove. My glove says it and i have a heart of the hide 34" catchers mitt
i got a glovesmith 2151L, its a really durable. 100% hard leather inside and out. I only paid 89.99 for it. like casey55 said dont spend 200 dollars on a a2k..all a2k is a name made famous by players like david wright..
I have an easton stealth tourney baseball glove and it fucken kicks ass, it has a great pocket, its easy to close but its still firm. Igot it for 50 bucks, dont spend 200 dollars on an a2k when you can get a glve like this. it is bamf, one again it is the easton stealth tourney
Im trying to decide if i should get an a2k or not because i dont want a floppy piece of shit thats already broken in when i get it. Is the a2k really soft and broken in when you first get it?? Somebody help
no the a2k's are very firm and stay that way for a very long time the fingers dont usualy bend back or get floppy its a very good glove i hope that helps
Any suggestions on a glove for 3rd base and pitcher that is under $100 and will break in quickly with an easy to shape pocket? I liked the gold glove GGNP5B when I tried it on, but thought a glove such as the sandlot was much too flexible. Thanks for any help!
Yeah, the pocket doesn't have much padding on my Pro Preferred HoH Gold Glove. Big pocket though for infield and really nice leather. Just bought and as infielder im only braking in the pocket and getting it big, no oil anything I just want it to stay kind of hard, 60% broken in, for quick release
Any suggestions..for an ambidextrous Glove? We just received our custom glove from Japan (mizuno) it looks exactly like Pat vendittes glove. We are using mink oil....very helpful on where to place oil. Also we are forming under the mattress.....thanks Danny
i recommend mizuno. a great glove for the price and i broke it in in about 6 hours easy. you might have to really work at it though. and also get some wilson premium glove oil. helps out a lot and is only about 2 bucks. great infeild glove.
yeah. not completely. but it is one that you can actually use right out of the store. but id still recommend putting oil on, and naturaly break it in a little. other than that, yes.
I bought my brother a rawlings trapeze glove almost 2 years ago. First of all I recomend the heart of the hide over the softer leathers they offer. the pro Prefered tend to be to soft. The mitt is great, He plays 3rd and loves it. Its actually an outfield glove. But the stiffness and the overall tight cow hide is ideal for infield. I also recomend nakona grease or mitt conditioner. Its great. I spent 200$ on the glove he loves it and is worth every penny.
nokonas are good outfiels mitts, but if u play infield u want either a rawlings, nike,or wilson, these brands do make outfield mittts but the brands mostly make infield gloves
just oil your when you get it and before every season.. i have they rawling heart of the hide and its sick.. in my old gloves i would just get them relaced ever 2 years or so..
Nokona's are good gloves but extremely heavy.....My 2cents would be to get a SSK glove. They are made in Taiwan and are the pro models over in Japan, Korea, etc. I just bought one for $125 and LOVE IT!
all gloves need to be oiled. the oil keeps the leather moist, if the leather dries out it will crack and break. oil in moderation a couple times a year
ha last year i lost my old glove and went to the store and bought a diamond ready like an hour before a game and it was fine haha the leather is super soft but bad quality

i use the trapeze method for my infielders glove with a batting glove with my heart of the hide...most comfortable glove ever

best gloves to get r definitely Nokona's, better than pro preferred and a2k
Tomfoolery700 2 years ago
Nokona's are good gloves but extremely heavy.....My 2cents would be to get a SSK glove. They are made in Taiwan and are the pro models over in Japan, Korea, etc. I just bought one for $125 and LOVE IT!

MmWjAm218 2 years ago
i have never oiled my catchers mitt
all you should do with any type of glove is use it
maddenfreak19 2 years ago
all gloves need to be oiled. the oil keeps the leather moist, if the leather dries out it will crack and break. oil in moderation a couple times a year
