  • homer is the smart one in this clip

just proves you don't have to be a genuis to be right

  • LOL

  • Google "Rajendra Pachauri tata steel". 600 million in taxpayer money for simply laying hundreds off and moving to india where the rules don't apply. Way to save the planet!

It is strange how those who fall for obvious propaganda tell others that they are 'misinformed'. You anti human tree huggers will all die from smug.

  • It's not science when you cite newspapers, blogs or homer. it's not science, when you talk about things you don't understand. it's not science, when something what you don't understand ist automatically wrong. And it's science, when complex systems behave akward outside of their balance. everything else is written down, read books, study things and criticize climate models in a scientific way, not with Simpson videos. And what me makes most thoughtful: Homer mostly was the dump one, get it.

  • I was gonna answer but after looking at some some of this guy's comments I'm pretty sure he's a troll so let's not bother

  • I love how this show establishes Homer as an idiot for over 20 years now.

Oh he says something I agree with so now Lisa's the idiot because she doesn't agree with our viewpoint!!!

  • YAY PROPAGANDA for our kids! almost makes me wanna believe the lies. ....

  • jcncnc seems to be as smart as Homer Simpson.

  • to people who are taking this clip way to serous. grow up and just laugh i thought this was funny no matter how i see this global warming. also did any one else notes he was drinking out of Ned's mug lol

  • Because Homer Simpson is totally where one should take his or her scientific knowledge.

  • The guy who posted this video is an extremely dumb version of classic catholic idiot. Global warming is not theory. If you don't believe in science, don't send your kids to school. I guess you're using computer if you're reading this. Scientists came up with computers and internet so you can basically throw it through the window right now and go back to "good", retarded medieval times. Witch hunting is illegal though, so you can't really create own paradise for dumbfucks.

  • @MrSelfHater Couple of things. One, global warming is a misnomer, and should be referred to as climate change. Two, climate change is technically theory (like gravity, or electromagnetism). Look up the definition of theory if you don't believe me. And three, you don't "believe" in science. In order for science to work, you provide evidence for or against a hypothesis (or theory): no belief involved. And four, ad hominem is a wonderful thing, don't you think?

  • It's not science when scientists r getting rich by providing a pre-determined outcome. It's not sci when they won't SHARE the data w/ other scientists. It's not science when they send emails asking each other how they're going to HIDE the decline of the last 10 years. And it's not science when contrary evidence proves them right no matter what.If it gets warm it's global warming. If it gets cold it's global warming. If it rains it's global warming. If there's a blizzard it's global warming. PLEASE!

  • What do you expect. There are people who don't belief in Darwinism and there are people who don't belief in global warming, It's the same thing. Every single scientific institute tells them that these two theories are correct, but they prefer to belief otherwise. So let them. (And before you even start to argue - yes, I said every institute. It's a fact. Go on, try to find one - anywhere in the world - that has any doubts.)

  • I might believe in global warming if politicians didn't make so much money off "preventing it"

  • Even Homer gets it

  • @sarahreireiviolet Really, really, ahuh, alright

  • what is this episode called

  • this is actually making fun of idiots who deny global warming. I find it fascinating how people are in denial even though there are recorded data as evidence of global warming.

  • @dannyrbertson16. I'm friends with a lot of people I don't agree with. I would say that because he's friends withGore that he has actually seen it up close and knows what a scam it is.

  • No, you don't get it jcncnc. Homer is the dumb one, Lisa is the smart one, just like EVERY OTHER EPISODE OF THE SIMPSONS! They are making fun of YOU.

  • @jcncnc Homer is always the dumb one. And since Matt Groening is friends with Al Gore, I think it's safe to say he and the Simpsons writers accept the reality of climate change.

  • @jcncnc You know Matt Groening is a hardcore liberal right?

  • @dannyrobertson16 Lisa is not real.

  • 0:20 - now that was really absolute truth.......war is peace, cold is hot...

  • this is how i feel about christianity and the people who choose to belive it

  • NERRRRRRRRD!!!

  • You know, I find it kind of funny. Whether or not global warming is real ( won't argue it either way) don't you think it'd be really stupid of you NOT to be prepared, or find ways to prevent it? That's kinda like the people who smoke and think they can't get lung cancer. "You just made that up to make me stop smoking." lol.

  • @endersblade No it's not stupid NOT to be prepared. Because the only preparation they're proposing is a massive transfer of wealth to third world countries. And MASSIVE increases in the prices of electricity and gasoline. Since the "cure" would impoverish billions of people and do more damage than warming itself - no it's definitely not smart to be "prepared"! This is nothing more than a Marxist grab for power and money.

  • @jcncnc "MARXISM!!!"

THE EVIL SOCIALISTS ARE GONNA GET US!!!

  • @jcncnc Thank you for articulating that. It seems that alarmists don't consider that the cure may be far worse than the disease. They think "deniers" hate the environment and are uneducated. The truth is, most of us are highly educated and care deeply about the Earth. We are also smart enough to say, "Hey, something is amiss with this idea, let's gather some more evidence before embarking on a plan that could so disrupt the economy as to kill billions and even cause war."

  • @jcncnc I'll never understand the "just in case argument." By that logic, one should never drive a car, fly in a plane, eat at a restaurant, or leave home. The "just in case argument' means everyone should be every religion "just in case" they one they really like is wrong. "Just in case" is not an argument for anything, it is the precept of a deluded mind that so misunderstands science, probability, and risk as to be fundamentally dangerous to the rest of us.

  • @jcncnc marxist grab for power and money... let me guess. redneck yank? lol...

  • @jcncnc

    Holy SHIT you're an idiot.

  • @jcncnc how exactly is this marxist? we all know that politics and business go hand in hand so the the major oil tycoons and other special intrests grease the palms of the politians to keep the money flowing their way..secondly, global warming for a fact is true, however, the facts were not set straight, global warming is true, just not as extreme as they had presented..I am on the side of the ecologists however feeling that global warming isnt really the need to change (being envionmental)..we

  • @jcncnc just need to relax about the global warming scare and just try to help out to make the world a bit less of a catastrophy for the next generations (also u may want to know that volcano eruptions cause more pollution to the air with the release of carbons and nitrogen into the atmosphere than man ever has, also the fact that china is the major pollutatnt of the world {not saying america is perfect} you need to look outside the focus of one idea to better understand the sum..

  • @jcncnc wow, you're really really narrow minded. It's scary that there are people like you.

  • @jcncnc I think you need to learn a thing or two about geophysics before you make a fool of yourself.

You're just the usual global warming denier with no expertise in any relevant field acting like a clown.

  • @jcncnc 1. Hide the decline refers to northern tree ring growth in upper latitude trees which do not correlate well with temperature- thus they get rid of faulty data (which if they incorporated would make global warming look even MORE dramatic).

2.the data is all shared: it's subject to peer review. You are obviously unfamiliar with the scientific method.

    3. specific weather events are NOT contrary evidence.

weather =/= climate, and increased intensity of weather events has been a

  • @jcncnc predicted outcome of climate change since the 60s.

Seriously. As someone who actually is scientifically literate, your mindset is embarrassing and leaves me hopeless for a species with so much power being at least partly controlled by mindless idiots like you, who read something from a non-scientific source saying global warming is not real and then automatically assume you are expert enough to confirm it. Oh look. Glenn beck in favourites.

    Explains a lot.

  • @endersblade I'll never understand the "just in case argument." By that logic, one should never drive a car, fly in a plane, eat at a restaurant, or leave home. The "just in case argument' means everyone should be every religion "just in case" they one they really like is wrong. "Just in case" is not an argument for anything, it is the precept of a deluded mind that so misunderstands science, probability, and risk as to be fundamentally dangerous to the rest of us.

  • You know your side is retarded when they unironically agree with Homer Simpson.

  • Whenever global warming sceptics speak I get a headache, same goes for reading some of these comments..

  • ladidadida i'm lisa simpson ladidadida

  • its called climate change, ignoramus's.

  • IT IS CURRENTLY COLD OUTSIDE SO MUCH FOR GLOBAL WARMING

That this fucking argument even exists proves that civilization is fucked.

  • Wiki scientific opinion on climate change - the last scientific organization to tune into global warming was the American Association of Petroleum Geologists IN 2007. If you don't know anything about science stop using pseudo science in your arguments.

  • @cambell1308 how the fuck did you find out that the planets are warming up? there aren't weather stations on the other planets, and some like Neptune haven't been visited for decades.

  • @whiteshark1212 Hi and thanks for the "F" word, means I'm talking to a thinker hey? Umm ever heard of telescopes? Did you know that other planets have ice and icecaps at there poles? These icecaps have been reducing in size for many years now, kinda like ours. So what I am saying is that if Earth's ice caps melting is an argument for "man made" global warming well then explain melting icecaps on other planets.

  • @cambell1308 i can't believe people actually use this as an argument.

  • @cambell1308 I wrote an argument that countered this, then I realised i was being an idiot for doing that so i'll just link this website:

skepticalscience (dot ) com (slash) global-warming-on-mars-basic (dot) htm

    stupid anti-linking website rule.

  • @whiteshark1212 Yeah I've read that before actually but I had another read. Unfortunately though I think he is wrong because as of October 6 2011 the atmosphere of Mars is officially saturated with water. check out this website sciencedaily (dot) com (slash) releases (slash) 2011 (slash) 10 (slash) 111006113408 (dot) htm

  • @whiteshark1212 Nice site, it makes the following statement: "The broadest counter argument depends on a simple premise: we know so little about Mars that it's impossible to say what trends in climate the planet is experiencing, or why changes occur." The very same could be said about Earth's climate. In fact, that is exactly what many of us are pointing out. Jumping to conclusions and enacting costly, dangerous policy on limited understand are stupid moves made by stupid people.

  • @MewCat100 '... we know so little about Mars that it's impossible to say what trends in climate the planet is experiencing, or why changes occur." The very same could be said about Earth's climate'

Right. Are you seriously defending that our models of earth's climate are as good as Mars? Please don't insult our intelligence.

  • @pbezunartea Don't build stawmen, it makes you look desperate. All I am saying is that the models we use to predict global climate change on Earth have been shown to be wrong on several occasions. The science isn't advanced enough to incorporate all necessary factors, so the models continue to miscalculate. You should try a little analytical reasoning in the future rather than resorting to logical fallacies. You might just learn something if you do that rather than protecting your biases.

  • @MewCat100 "Don't build stawmen" (sic) I was quoting you. How does that qualify as a strawman?

".. the models we use to predict global climate .. have been shown to be wrong on several occasions. The science isn't advanced enough to incorporate all necessary factors, so the models continue to miscalculate."

That's too general. Evidence? From the IPCC 2007 report: "One example is that the global temperature trend over the past century can be modelled with high skill when both human and " cont

  • @MewCat100 "... when both human and natural factors that influence climate are included. Models also reproduce other observed changes ..."

Your statement differs from the IPCC conclusion, what evidence do you have to support it? Which models are inaccurate? How inaccurate?

  • @pbezunartea Go look it up. I'm tired of doing the leg work for you alarmists and IPCC ass kissers. I have provided this information about a dozen times this week alone. Look it up and you will find that models have failed numerous times to predict temperature change, always OVERESTIMATING. Stop quoting the IPCC by the way. It isn't peer-reviewed and so doesn't count as science.

  • @whiteshark1212 The same way we know what the temperature on the surface of the sun is -- by studying coming light from them at all wavelengths. Hell, you can go out and buy infrared cameras commercially now, it's the same principle.

  • @whiteshark1212 Oh, and also if the ice caps are shrinking on other planets, that's a pretty good indicator that they are warming. Idiot.

  • Whenever it snows where I live, I think "Nooo! Stop snowing! You're making Al Gore look like an idiot!"

  • I'm getting Family Guy vibes from this crap...

  • I was misinformed by the name of this video, Homer clearly isn't suffering from global warming.

  • i really miss when the simpsons were funny

  • Homer gets very close to a real interesting line of junk being pushed these days. Basically, it goes, "So if it gets colder, it's a sign of global warming. If it gets warmer, it's a sign of global warming." It makes no sense.

  • @FiendsInRedSatin1 From my understanding I believe it is the reasoning that Global Warming causes extreme weather in general like the recent rash of hurricanes, droughts, record freezing that lasts unseasonably long, etc.

  • @TwilightSage89 I know that's what they're saying, but think about the boiled down version of it. If it gets colder, it's global warming. If it gets warmer, it's global warming. The argument is set up to the point that the person making it cannot lose.

  • This is Season 21 Episode 8: "O Brother, Where Bart Thou?"

  • lmao hahha this is how i feel when i talk about stuff like this....now i know you cant fix stupid so sit back and laugh at ignorance

  • what episode is this

  • really? really? uh huh. very. lol

  • Comment removed

  • You do know that this is actually a parody of global warming sceptics?

  • @kazath Sarah Palin & Glenn Beck are global warming sceptics though. I don't think sanity or intelligence matters to their viewpoint. The whole running joke of The Simpsons is how dangerously retarded Homer is. Doesn't matter. He agrees with that they think & people love him; that's all that counts. They really are clutching at straws at this stage, aren't they?

  • There's a ton of people here that really don't seem to get that Homer is the dumb guy, not the one you're supposed to be all smug about having on your side.

  • @DrAmazing An you apparently don't understand sarcasm. The point the video is making is that if Homer can get it, it must pretty darn simple. Thus, those who don't get it must be stupid, deluded, or disingenuous.

  • @MewCat100

Homer's entire argument is "I don't understand what climate change is or how it works, so I'm going to dance around like an idiot" It's hardly a compelling point in favor of deniers.

  • @DrAmazing I see you have failed to understand the flow of logic. No matter. Data and not cartoons are what we "deniers" rely upon. You should try it something, you can learn a lot.

  • @DrAmazing americans are? yepyep...

  • This is EXACTLY what I said to my brother and what he said to me ..my brother is a real life homer simpson -_-

  • which episode?

  • really? really?!

  • Not to mention the most recent FOX News- and Dick Cheney-bashing episode. I hardly see that of evidence of a rightward bent among the writers' sensibilities.

  • @GetRealPolitik The fact that Homer, the moron that he is, understands how ludicrous the belief that humans caused global warming, shows how completely wrong the libs are in every way.

Global warming has happened for billions of years, so why does everyone get so worked up about it?

And FYI - Clearly Fox Network is right-wing, they host right-wing shows, Simpsons and Family Guy are 2 of them, on occasion they bash right wingers and the network in order to not lose fan base with libs.

  • @r3d4uerb4ch; Um, I cannot tell if you are being sarcastic with me. If so, ha ha.

If not, I want to tell you that I am in agreement with you, except for the parts about Simpsons and Family Guy being right-wing. The shows are not by nature right-wing; the leanings of their respective creators are not secret. Also, Fox Network and Fox News are two separate entities. There may be some truth in your last sentence, but the more likely reason Fox keeps the shows is for viewership, not for politics.

  • @r3d4uerb4ch

    1) It's a cartoon.

    2) If Homer catches on to it, it's probably a dumb idea, obvious to anyone who ever watched the Simpsons.

    3) Matt Groening is a liberal.

    4) The Simpsons themselves are Democrats.

    5) Fox News does not equal 20th Century Fox.

    6) Point 2 and 3 lead to the fact that this clip is making fun of your stance and you seem to be to stupid to notice that.

    6) But then again, you seem to too stupid to notice a lot, don't you. Leave the science to the scientists.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH

Ah yes, Science and the Scientists: overwhelmingly proving that humans, and every activity that we do on this planet in an entire year, account for a mere 0.28% (that's Zero POINT 28 PERCENT) of the total "greenhouse gases," the root cause of "global warming."

Not to mention that Science has proven that, for the last 600 years, we have been working our way out of a mini ice age. Temperature fluctuates; get over it and spend your time on something useful.

    Oh and nice grammar.

  • @r3d4uerb4ch

There are 5,5 billion people on this world who's mother tongue isn't English. You may want to grab a map that stretches beyond your borders before whining about grammar on YouTube. Also, if you are going to comment on someone else's grammar, make sure you don't do stupid shit like capitalizing the word "science" in the middle of a sentence.

  • @r3d4uerb4ch

It's more than 0,28% and it's a positive feedback. Science isn't about impressive numbers. If your cytokine production is of by 0,28%, you've can have a serious auto-immune disease.

They have proven that? Let me post you some links to actual peer-reviews.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH So it's more than 0.28% just because you said so, not because I have done the research. 0.28% of the billions of tons of CO2 produced naturally every year by the evaporation of water does not explain why the earth has changed temperature throughout history.

I'm not saying the earth isn't warming, I'm saying we have more important things to worry about.

Oh and I capitalized Science and Scientists as a writing technique for words which are in your earlier remarks.

  • @r3d4uerb4ch

No, not because I say so, because it's in the peer-reviews that I linked you too, remember. I don't see any data from your side of the argument here.

  • Can I put it this way, libs? This is as much evidence of poor, lazy writing on behalf of the Simpsons team. Do you remember when Sideshow Bob ran for mayor as a Republican? Do you remember his ranting speech at the end? THAT was funny.

This is so lazy -- having a straw man (Homer) stand in for us global-warming sceptics and then prance around like an idiot while all-knowing Lisa resignedly shakes her head -- that it fails at even making me laugh and makes me want to identify with Homer. Get it?

  • what episode is this from?

  • Thank you Matt Groening. Too bad Gore already got the freaking nobel Peace price for his nonsense. The world's temperature changes sporadically through the decades, there is an extremely insignificant amount that we can do to change that.

  • @r3d4uerb4ch The fact that you don't even get that the Simpsons are MAKING FUN of the deniers by using Homer to represent them only re-enforces how clueless you are.

  • @XpressForumsClick The fact that 2010 was significantly colder than the early 2000's and that records of earth's temperature have proven that the planet undergoes radical changes in temperatures throughout the years re-enforces how little information you have gathered before spewing your beliefs that humans have something to do with all this. Spend your time worrying about something that we might actually be able to control, rather than some crackpot theories about why the earth changes temp.

  • @r3d4uerb4ch Okay Homer.

  • It's a joke it's a cartoon global warming exists and there's nothin you can do we didn't cause it we only sped it up and no it's not BS whoever denies global warming is an idiot it's there it always was and always will be even when humans are gone it will still exist because of natural CO2 and methane so don't deny it

  • That's the beauty of half -ass baked theories with zero foundation in fact and only exist to line politician and environmental groups pockets... Since they are pure BS you can constantly change them to account for EVERYTHING... and sadly the little clueless lemmings will believe them.

  • Al Gore has never heard of winter until he discovered it flying over the islands of Indonesia in his G6.

  • The funny thing is that there are actually people on YT who are dumber than HS.

  • @dutchbb1979 Not only that, but they think Homer is right and don't get they are being MOCKED! Just read this thread.

  • Did anyone else notice he has Ned's coffee mug?

  • I though it was called climate change

  • Also, i believe this clip supports us "deniers" because it does exactly what jon stewart and stephen colbert do, they make the ridiculous sounds ridiculous. I think jon stewart summed it up best when he said :O its dark in here! That proves global darkening. But of course from global warming we know that global darkening can make the world lighter too...

  • so pretty much global warming causes seasonal weather patterns, yeah...

  • really....reallly....la de da la de da.

  • It's dangerous though because Lisa supposedly is the smart one in the family. So in a subtle way they're pushing this idea of extreme wheather

  • MY BROTHER JUST SAID THIS "WHY IS IT CALLED GLOBAL 'WARMING'

    ...hes an idiot.

  • LMao at the Ned cup

  • This is a scientific topic, so if any of your arguments contains the words "Al Gore" (no matter if you are a denielist or supporter), shut up your opinion is worthless.

  • LOL, this is hilarous. This whole segment is to show how moronic global warming deniers are. Where anyone familar with the simpsons knows that Homer goes around saying idoitic and moronic things to Lisa who knows better and chooses to ignore him, and this is just another example. LOL that some are trying to use something that is making of them to support your arguement, but that of course is the kind of intelligent level I would expect from global warming deniers

  • @senatorvreenak33; Not really. We all get that it's supposed to be making fun of us deniers, but it miserably fails at that. It's really far more funny from our side, in that Homer is actually making sense, but Lisa is the one we're "supposed" to identify with. It's called irony, I believe.

  • @GetRealPolitik nice attempt at twisting, but no if you take something that is making fun of you to help support your argument that's called stupidity not irony. And Homer's argument here is blatantly unscientifically accurate and yes moronic, which is the whole point of this segment. So by taking a statement that is blatantly inaccurate (ie moronic) and that in fact is showcased to demonstrate how inaccurate the whole entire side is, and saying "this proves us right" hurts your case.

  • @senatorvreenak33; I didn't say it proved me right. Me laughing at this clip is not that "it proves my case even though it's making fun of my case", it's "it's trying to make fun of my case, but isn't being very funny and not convincing at all".

Why would you think that I'm using a Homer Simpson quote to prove my argument? That wouldn't make any sense. My side is right whether or not the writers of the show decided to make Homer Simpson sound like a moron.

  • @GetRealPolitik No, as always, Homer represents the un-informed simpleton, conflating disparate issues.

And, as usual, Lisa represents the informed, intelligent citizen, quietly shaking her head at the ignorance displayed by the Homer's around her. The fact that you identify with the idiot should tell you something, at the very least about how Groening views you.

  • @XpressForumsClick; I know what he's SUPPOSED to represent. I also know that Groening leans left, as well as his teams of writers who actually wrote the joke. My point is that it doesn't work. It wasn't funny, and it didn't make me feel dumb. On the other hand, I suppose it's not written for me; it's written for people who identify with Lisa.

Why are we arguing over a not-very-funny gag from a cartoon show again?

  • @GetRealPolitik because you seem to think it somehow validates your ignorance.

  • @XpressForumsClick: I don't feel validated.

    That was easy.

  • @GetRealPolitik Groening leans left? Have you ever watched any Simpsons episode ever? Why on earth would you think that the writers for the Simpsons are liberals? And it's clearly written to point out that if Homer Simpson can understand how insane it is to talk like we're destroying the world then why can't anyone else?

  • @r3d4uerb4ch; I've read and seen plenty of Groening's work. Also, I know from intuition + handy dandy Wikipedia that he identifies as liberal and contributes to Democrats. Nothing on him, that's just the facts.

I mentioned the megalomaniac rant by Bob at the end of the episode, running as GOP mayor, of which Burns is a member. Lisa, the environmentalist, smart liberal is nearly always right. I get the show is as much cultural as it is political, but you'd be blind not to see which way it leans.

  • @senatorvreenak33

thank you i was just about to lose it with all those stupid posts around here!

  • You gotta love a theory that has to falsify it's data to prove itself. Ever wonder what caused the other mini-ice ages and global warmings before we were even around?

  • Global warming is not caused by humans

  • AREN'T YOU THE QUEEN OF CRAZY LAND!?!?!? Catch up boobs! Even Homer gets it

  • If people would spend more time studying science and learning what global warming (perhaps better called "climate change" for the simpletons) really means, maybe the United States wouldn't be the leading pollution source on the planet. It's embarrassing being from a country that is known internationally as the least intelligent and most dangerous on the planet. Thanks, guys.

  • of course, global warming is just a bad joke, which should keep us from consuming more and more...

  • Homer throws up the baphomet sign at 0:18

Just to let you know he still works for you know who

  • Wow. Did you really not realize that the show is making fun of Homer for not understanding the concept of global warming?

  • I just dunno what to do about people that a) are older than me (and hence won't listen to what I like to educate them about) and b) think they can judge the state of global warming from their home windows.

  • I think the daily show put it best "ITS DARK HERE! that PROVES global darkening!"

  • Ha wow, you guys obviously don't understand which side of the debate this scene is making fun of. Homer Simpson is *mimicking* people who think global warming is false.

  • hahaha

  • LOL, global warming is the only theory I know of that no matter what happens it "proves" it to be true. It's too hot, that's global warming, it's too cold, that's global warming....too bad the theory and the scientists that support it have fallen flat on their faces. Even an idiot like Homer can understand the how simple the flaws are in the theory.

  • isn't it funny how average people know more about science than scientists...

I don't believe in gravity either,I KNOW it doesn't exsist because it is just a theory, you should jump off a cliff and prove that one wrong too!

  • @Lazerjo2000 Gravity isn't a theory, LOL!!!! Do you know the definition of a theory? I think it's funny how average people will believe whatever a scientist tells them without thinking for themselves. Sorry to say but you have already gone over that cliff in your mind, lol! Didn't realize scientists were Gods of some sort. Do you know the background of Einstein? He was one of those average people that you would have scoffed at in that time.

  • @Lazerjo2000 And since you brought up gravity, lets look at your assumption that gravity is a theory in relation to my original post. If at times objects didn't fall but ascended or even hung in mid air and scientists had to falsify their results to prove gravity exsits then yeah, you would be correct in saying that I would have doubts about it's authenticity. I love people like you who tend to foget that scientists at one point thought we were the center of the universe.

  • @gman2673 you obviously did not notice the sarcasm in my post and yes gravity is a theory, "Modern physics describes gravitation using the general theory of relativity, in which gravitation is a consequence of the curvature of spacetime which governs the motion of inertial objects"

  • @Lazerjo2000 and you obviously didn't notice the wording of the quote that you used either. Modern physics may describe gravitation USING the general theory of relativity, but it is in fact a law. Newton's law of gravity ring a bell? Just because you use a theory of something to describe something else, doesn't make the latter a theory. It simply means we don't know why it works and in turn need to use another realted theory to explain it. Good job in googling though :)

  • @gman2673 what part of we dont know why it works makes it not a theory?

  • @Lazerjo2000 A scientific theory is a conceptual structure used to explain existing facts and predict new ones. Einstein's theories explained Newton's laws, they didn't cause them to be theories. "Scientific laws are considered established and universally applicable (to certain class of things or phenomenon under appropriate conditions) but not necessarily definitive."

  • @gman2673 gravity was never one of newtons laws

  • @Lazerjo2000 Okie dokie

Newton's law of universal gravitation states that every massive particle in the universe attracts every other massive particle with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

  • @Lazerjo2000 This is a general physical law derived from empirical observations by what Newton called induction.[1] It is a part of classical mechanics and was formulated in Newton's work Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica ("the Principia"), first published on 5 July 1687.

  • @gman2673 and?

  • @Lazerjo2000 And what?

  • @Lazerjo2000 and...."yes gman your points are so valid and flawless that I have nothing more to say. Thank you for taking the time to enlighten me with such knowledge, you are truly a man of grace and integrity." No problem Lazerjo, anytime :)

  • @gman2673 pause

  • You nitwits with your heads up Al Gore's you know what are the real idiots. But wear it proudly, fools.
