Repealing DADT doesn't give any special rights for gay servicemen, it finally gives them equal footing with everyone else. The rest of the civilized world have openly gay servicemen, and there's no issue problems with them.

Repealing DADT doesn't give any special rights for gay servicemen, it finally gives them equal footing with everyone else. The rest of the civilized world have openly gay servicemen, and there's no issue problems with them.

Not that I'm saying they *should* do, but it will happen naturally. Things are still in flux. Equality is the operative word, not one-upmanship between the genders or the sexualities. It's not about love and sex, it's about hatred. Hatred of gays is why we need this legislation to protect them (us) while we serve.
