I was wondering if you were paddling in the Monterey area? Last June I rode the AIDS Life Cycle Ride from SFran to L.A. and remember crossing a bridge on day 2 of the ride from Santa Cruz to King City and saw a group of seals on a dock just below the bridge. It was an inlet off a large bay. Cant remember which route, but believe it was Rt. 101.
Just out of interest, are those sea otters a separate species from the fresh water kind? Here in the UK we only have one species of otter that sometimes lives in freshwater and sometimes lives in saltwater - but they are both the same species.
Carry a .454 Casull and it won't matter........
