yo pienso que todos los parlantes deben ir en el suelo, y los surround deben ir al fondo de la habitación pero eso depende de cada persona porque para musica en realidad no se nota mucho el rol de los surround
Los parlantes frontales dependiendo de su altura tienen que estar a la altura de la cabeza del escucha igual que los parlantes surround, y para musica tienen un gran efecto siempre y cuando utilices una fuente de alta calidad como un cd de audio original o copia del original o formatos no compresos de audio o compresos pero de alta calidad como Dolby Digital por ejemplo.
Por eso digo que depende de la persona, se que es mejor que los parlantes queden a la altura de la cabeza, pero esto depende de qué parlantes estamos hablando. Por eso digo que yo los prefiero en el suelyo por que como retumban mucho y en mi caso no uso cds de alta calidad.

I guess it could be 910 watts RMS if you pushed those 5 speakers RIGHT to the limit. There are four speakers and a subwoofer to share the power, but still pushing 182 watts average into each one is going to be on the bottoming out end of the scale

And that thing probably only puts out 70wpc on a good day. I run a restored vintage Pioneer reciever which puts out 350w...and that weighs 60lbs. That shitty plastic Sony thing is massively over-rated.

i have a 1980's Technics Hi-fi amp that im running to my '95 Polk speakers and my mid-90's mitsubishi subwoofer. it says it is 8 ohms stable, i ran a 4 ohm speaker through it and took it like a champ. says its rated for 60rms a channel (120 total).
PMPO is the fake bullshit watts that companies post on their products just to get people to buy them. RMS is the continuous power output which is what matters.
Yeah, Sony is notorious for falsely rating their products. Sound & Vision magazine did some lab tests on a Sony STR-DG910 A/V Receiver and the results were pretty dismal. It was rated a 100 watts per channel and it only pushed 30 watts at clipping in 5.1 mode. 30 watts? Sony audio equipment is a complete joke.
And 10000 watts PMPO is just absurd. If that system hit 10000 watts even for a millisecond, it would just melt into the pile of crap that it is.
That sound system is definetly not even close to 910 watts of contious power. They just measure on channel, with a lot of disstortion, and multiplies with the number of channels, total bullshit, in other words.

You think 140 db is little???? P.S.: values considering free air speakers, not considering dB gains with the box in specifics band of frequencis

It's the sony reciever amp to the Muteki HTDDW1600. I don't have it I just looked it up from tacocheeseman's comment. I just have an acoustic solution's 60 watt amp, and when I turn it up to full in my bedroom on any music with lots of HF (rock, hardcore), it's uncomfortable for more than a song (my speakers are quite sensitive). That receiver is probably a lot more powerful than mine, and the bass will be better if using a subwoofer. Just look it up on the internet and find out I don't know.

Sony - biggest liars in power output stickers. They say it does have 910W power...with which norm? RMS? It's impossible. This audio system is not stronger than 150W total, typical nowadays plastic crap - sorry, but that's true.
It does sound loud, but when you consider 910 watts as a high powered PA system, it's actually fairly weak. I'm not denying it's a good stereo, but you may be right about it putting out less power than that. I know the CD player may be quiet compared to the clipping level of the amp, and also that you can't gauge by the camera how loud it is. And also that PA speakers are usually more efficient
910 watts into some nice speakers would do wonders. I have a pair of Yamaha 12" loudspeakers, pushing 200w RMS into 8 ohms each, and it can handle a gym full of 600+ students at a basketball game, music and vocals. Imagine how around 900-1000w into a pair of loudspeakers would do. That's what I'm planning on doing when I get to buy some nice active JBL's.
It's supposedly 10000 watts 'PMPO' a crappy wattage which I don't know what it means. It's probably the peak power x 4 i.e. the peak+ve to peak-ve voltage squared/impedance. When you consider that 10,000 watts is a concert line array system, and that guy was able to listen calmly on full blast in a tiny room for half the video, I beg to differ. You would see the lights dimming slightly on the peaks!! 910 watts RMS but it didn't sound much louder than my A/S cheap 60 watt amp except in the bass.
hey... you can obtain pmpo power getting the rms power x 8~12. The rms and the pmpo power that I'm saying are at the front of the player and at the manual. I can't listen this song for 3 minutes at 50% vol. When I finished this video, my hearing was bit damaged! And the lights of my house dimming on the peaks, it's really cool! you should see the genezi playing in your front, N73 have a good camera, but seeing live is much better. thxs...

vc nao ia se arrepender! eu coloquei um sub de 12" 200w RMS (barato) Da H Buster linha COMBAT numa saida (120w) do meu aparelho de som de 240w RMS (2x120w)... u bixo chego ate derrubar o prato de uma prateleira q estava em outra parte da casa... as portas tremem no ritmo dele.. imagina c vc colocasse um street bass de 15 nesse sony, ia derrubar a casa!!!!!! xD

Los parlantes frontales dependiendo de su altura tienen que estar a la altura de la cabeza del escucha igual que los parlantes surround, y para musica tienen un gran efecto siempre y cuando utilices una fuente de alta calidad como un cd de audio original o copia del original o formatos no compresos de audio o compresos pero de alta calidad como Dolby Digital por ejemplo.

Por eso digo que depende de la persona, se que es mejor que los parlantes queden a la altura de la cabeza, pero esto depende de qué parlantes estamos hablando. Por eso digo que yo los prefiero en el suelyo por que como retumban mucho y en mi caso no uso cds de alta calidad.

I guess it could be 910 watts RMS if you pushed those 5 speakers RIGHT to the limit. There are four speakers and a subwoofer to share the power, but still pushing 182 watts average into each one is going to be on the bottoming out end of the scale

PMPO is just a made up number that is calculated from the amp that is 100% efficient (which is virtually impossible) and is ran for a ten-thousandth of a second...
btw, a standard grounded outlet in a house is rated at 20 amps. thats only about 2000w you can run through it before blowing the fuse lmfao...

Yeah, he seems to forget that a speaker won't obey a logarithm - there's one hell of a lot of other stuff involved apart from a simple log. No space to explain fully here.
And that thing probably only puts out 70wpc on a good day. I run a restored vintage Pioneer reciever which puts out 350w...and that weighs 60lbs. That shitty plastic Sony thing is massively over-rated.
Sony did make some good stuff back in the day. Their power amps were rather impressive. Now it's all gone to crap...

i have a 1980's Technics Hi-fi amp that im running to my '95 Polk speakers and my mid-90's mitsubishi subwoofer. it says it is 8 ohms stable, i ran a 4 ohm speaker through it and took it like a champ. says its rated for 60rms a channel (120 total).
and the thing also weighs about 25-30lbs as well

FTC is the most correct way to measure watts. It's measured from 20Hz to 20KHz, and with the distortion rated too.

Yeah, Sony is notorious for falsely rating their products. Sound & Vision magazine did some lab tests on a Sony STR-DG910 A/V Receiver and the results were pretty dismal. It was rated a 100 watts per channel and it only pushed 30 watts at clipping in 5.1 mode. 30 watts? Sony audio equipment is a complete joke.
And 10000 watts PMPO is just absurd. If that system hit 10000 watts even for a millisecond, it would just melt into the pile of crap that it is.

What do you think about using the STRK1600 receiver with the Cerwin Vega home cinema speaker package? (Those speakers are good and cost $1000 and 95dB 1W/1m but I want to know whether you think the sound combination would be good)

It's the sony reciever amp to the Muteki HTDDW1600. I don't have it I just looked it up from tacocheeseman's comment. I just have an acoustic solution's 60 watt amp, and when I turn it up to full in my bedroom on any music with lots of HF (rock, hardcore), it's uncomfortable for more than a song (my speakers are quite sensitive). That receiver is probably a lot more powerful than mine, and the bass will be better if using a subwoofer. Just look it up on the internet and find out I don't know.

It does sound loud, but when you consider 910 watts as a high powered PA system, it's actually fairly weak. I'm not denying it's a good stereo, but you may be right about it putting out less power than that. I know the CD player may be quiet compared to the clipping level of the amp, and also that you can't gauge by the camera how loud it is. And also that PA speakers are usually more efficient

910 watts into some nice speakers would do wonders. I have a pair of Yamaha 12" loudspeakers, pushing 200w RMS into 8 ohms each, and it can handle a gym full of 600+ students at a basketball game, music and vocals. Imagine how around 900-1000w into a pair of loudspeakers would do. That's what I'm planning on doing when I get to buy some nice active JBL's.

It's supposedly 10000 watts 'PMPO' a crappy wattage which I don't know what it means. It's probably the peak power x 4 i.e. the peak+ve to peak-ve voltage squared/impedance. When you consider that 10,000 watts is a concert line array system, and that guy was able to listen calmly on full blast in a tiny room for half the video, I beg to differ. You would see the lights dimming slightly on the peaks!! 910 watts RMS but it didn't sound much louder than my A/S cheap 60 watt amp except in the bass.

hey... you can obtain pmpo power getting the rms power x 8~12. The rms and the pmpo power that I'm saying are at the front of the player and at the manual. I can't listen this song for 3 minutes at 50% vol. When I finished this video, my hearing was bit damaged! And the lights of my house dimming on the peaks, it's really cool! you should see the genezi playing in your front, N73 have a good camera, but seeing live is much better. thxs...
