Most people play video games like this to feel like they can do it, not that they actually can. Most people who play stuff like GH, RB, DDR, and this, arnt going to say that can really do it, they are going to say that the were able to get 100%

It's the same Guitar Hero argument again. Yes you could spend 5-6 times as much money, practice for hours and hours to learn a new skill, dedicate a majority of your time to it - Or you can buy a game and have fun.

well I'm not going to spend a bunch of time and get into it, but the special edition at $199 is getting into the price range of a used direct drive, but either way, that is my point.

The cost of this game is way cheaper than starting an expensive hobby if you just want to have some fun and be introduced to something new. And the game will probably inspire some to get some real turntables as guitar hero did to the guitar.

I recently started this (amazing) hobby, about 4 months ago.

I spent about...1100, and that's with used tables, and I skimped on my mixer. I went all digital with it, so luckily I don't have to buy vinyl. And that's not including my Mackie monitors either, but I already had those.

Point being, shit's expensive. If you don't have the cash, but you have the desire, get DJ Hero.

Just curious, which turntables did you get and how much were they?

I picked up a pair of Technics DZ1200 Digital tables at about 350 a piece used. One was 375 the other was 300. I ended up with a Numark M3 mixer, which isn't terrible, but I've got my eyes on a Pioneer 400, and a pair of Pioneer 800 tables.

I like the DZs (and will keep them, even if I get the 800s) because of the large surface, it makes for excellent scratching.

my full set up was short of 4k then theres my studio equp on top of that for production!
