wow, i rode this in the 70's as a kid (lied about my age so i could go alone) i distinctly remember my older cousin in a cart in front of me going too slow so i rammed him with my cart till he was screaming "CUT IT OUT", and laughing so hard because he was afraid to go any faster.. Thanks for the video!
I see they have a lot of slow signs, something they didn't really have in 2001.With the alpine coasters, you can ride them in the winter time too as the slides are covered with snow.
I rode this twice ten years ago when on vacation.I actually stopped a few hundred feet from the start. The area was flat so I had to push myself. The second time down,I made sure I didn't brake any before the flat part and did fine.I miss this ride and want to go back but rather go to Deep Creek Resort in Md.and ride the alpine coaster.
they should make a slide for beginners and a slide for experts..somethin like that so we dont have to put up the with people who have no clue wat their doin
wow...i just went there about 2 days ago..there was a huge wasps nest and my cousin got stung 8 times because the people in front of us were goin to freakin slow
I know exactly what you mean (shame about the bees though)
I had a mother and child who excessively broke on the first corner (blue tray) and just sat there! braking moment! I had to push for ages to get past the flat bit whilst they decided to get off and walk back! it doesn't take too long to speed up but it is really annoying when someone in front is mega slow! We had to delete the first recording as there was someone shouting keep back whilst going 0 mph in front!
I did wonder what might happen if you didn't slow down - although i was struggling to stay on most of the time ! (a bit too top heavy i think). The first drop is the best though!
@kungfumonkeyslayer nothing happens. look at my video response to "alpine slide - full throttle" my friend and i went full speed last summer and didn't touch the brakes once. you just need to hold very firmly onto the steering stick and lean with the corners
@kungfumonkeyslayer and as far as people going too slow, just tell the slide operator you want to wait a minute to get a clean run in. they let us do it, and i'm glad they did. it's either a thrill seeking ride or a gay little cruise through the wilderness lol

@gqpadillac as I recall it depends on whether you choose the yellow or blue carts - the blue are slow, yellow fast :) although that was a year ago..
the blue have plastic rails, whereas the yellow have wheels.
