Merk: We need a compilation of Bird's inbound passes. As you know, unless he was need for a last-second shot, he usually handled the team's inbounding duties. I always thought he was the smartest inbound passer in NBA history.

The famous steal and pass to DJ, for instance, is essentially a split-second inbound pass.

@forchamps Yeah, as valuable as Bird was as a shooter, he was always, always the inbounder for Boston. He was also the greatest at moving without the ball, so after inbounding it was easy for him to get it back.

There might have been a few (very few) players who could pass like Bird, but I guarantee nobody could pass any better! Speaking particularly of the long pass, I don't think anyone compares to Bird. Great video!
