As much as I loved the whole metal gear saga, a huge part of me just wishes that they ended the story there with snake and meryl riding off into the sunset towards an unknown yet optimistic future. Lets face it, if you've played all four games then you'll know that snake never really gets a break after shadow moses, it would be nice to know that he found 'a new path' with meryl in alaska

Excuse me, but what the actual fuck? Snake discovered after fighting Liquid that Meryl died and this scene was with Otacon - which made the game beautiful and sad and this is why they talked about living for somebody even if they were dead - "Death is not defeat" - this happy ending is not as strong as the original, and I'm really surprised to see it.

its clever how she finds the bandana in the snowmobile and you see her wearing it in MGS4. The effort goes into metal gear is unbelievable, all the time i end up noticing little things that Kojima references in the games. Kojima simply is a legend

The reason Meryl isnt in the second metal gear solid is because Snake creates philanthropy and tries to expose metal gear and then Raiden goes to Big Shell to stop the terrorism act with Snake there ...... I wish i'd played MGS1 first in the series, but when I played the MGS demo I was 8 and only had gotten into video games, MGS was too complex and difficult for me then and I never gave it a chance, biggest mistake ever.

I completed MGS1 today after I think 4 days of getting it, the ending was actually quite cringeworthy for me after playiong MGS4, the whole love connection between Snake and Meryl just seemed wrong.

But still a very good game
