TRUE COUNTRY music is and has been dying since the early 80s, in fact that is what George Jones was talking about in his1985 hit song ""Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes "" Look up the original video by George here on YT & listen very closely to the words & lyrics and you can hear what the song is saying about it.. 99.999% of Today's country music songs has way to much Rock style tempo & beats mixed in it to be called true country music
when i hear this, i hear the struggle in his voice. West texas, the plane crash, nashville in the 60s,the outlaw movement, the highwaymen and finally his death. It boggles my mind sometimes!
amen jamey johnson and randy houser, etc r bringn back this era of country music and that pop shit! like hank III says i tha pop country faggoty shit on the radio
wow, what a great song. i forgot about this one................hey waylon fans, check out early waylon singing "chokin kind" on a t.v. show.....what a soulful performance. it's a killer..........
"Has ended"? Has? It was over on Wednesday, February 13th, 2002. At the exact moment Waylon took his left breath, it was over. Country music started dying at that point, and whenever we said goodbye to Johnny Cash, the officially buried "country" music with him! There's no "has" it already had...as far back as 2003.
It aint dead yet. theres a lot of underground country going on, Nashville just wont play it on the radio. Theres gonna be an uprising just wait and see, and new generation of outlaws....look up jamey johnson, hes the man
I've looked up him, and withouth Johnny or Waylon, it is DEAD. There is no one like them and will never be like them, end of story, country is DEAD and it will always be DEAD.
I repeat....without them, It IS DEAD. Okay....maybe, just MAYBE it is slowly dying on life support, but it's only still here because of KRIS KRISTOFFERSON, BOBBY BARE, GEORGE JONES, and BILLY JOE SHAVER.
I agree with you about country music being dead, but that's only in Nashville. You should check out some artists in TX like Eleven Hundred Springs and Carter Falco. These guys are doing their best to keep the traditional outlaw sound going and they're doing a damn good job!
it was weird i was watching a documentary on him the other day and i knew he was dead but when they said about his death i started to get tears in my eyes, his music is just so moving and touching, r.i.p the world sure does miss you
this years country music awards called the lame ass miley cyrus a country music superstar??!? WAYLON JENNINGS is the real country music superstar and there never be another like him
how right you are, these so called "stars"of today, could really learn alot from listening to Waylon, or Vern Gosdin, and so many more from yesterday.
Thank you so much for posting, been looking for this ever since i lost it a year ago, put waylon jenings in the title so more fans can find it!! RIP Hoss, my hero, the legend
Been all over you tube tonight but still come back to real country

At least we can say "country music was good for us".
today's youngsters have no idea how "short changed" they are by the music industry.
I love willie and kris , but without john and waylon all we got is the old records.
