  • had chance to see these guys at ozzfest years back and totally missed them...very regretable moment...was such a kick ass band

  • Just letting you know this was on Songs for the Restless not Evolve, Evolve was their debut in 2001, they were awesome at Ozzfest in 03, too bad they stopped

  • @Gandeeman85 i was there and i got the shirt with all the bands on it. i was 5 :3

  • ...they where much more powerfull on "Evolve"...nevertheless it's a shame they quit...

  • @MrDietrichChristian Yeah! I'm Julia. c: I have you on Facebook. XD

  • I saw these guys at Ozzfest and was so impressed with them that I bought the cd. I forgot about them for a few years and found that cd collecting dust in my basement, started listening to it again and I love every track on the album. It sucks to hear that they broke up.

  • This Is The G0:00D Shiiiet!

  • good band good lyrics good singer

  • its on the songs of the restless evolve was the first one

  • that sucks, i really liked them.

  • @deathmetalusa no actualy they lost there record deal and ended uo breakin up i new them very closely

  • its vito

  • @CoverInsanity apparently the singer was being too particular about the musical directions the others wanted to take

well thats wat i heard atleast

  • @CoverInsanity inner turmoil

  • met these guys at 9:30 club in DC they opened for Megadeath , they were cool to chill with the singer is like 5'2

  • @Tiredofcrap he's not 5'2...he's about 5'9... I know Gil quite well, we had him out for an audition, and things didn't work out between personalities.....Talented guy though, great voice...he's just very particular about how he likes to do things which led to it not working out between us.

  • met these guys at 9:30 club in DC they opened for Megadeath , they were cool to chill with

  • its not from the album evolve its from the album songs for the restless

  • Good stuff

  • I love how i new every meber of this band cas my sister went out wit the drumer bt man they lost the record deal how they were so gud

  • when you are looking for a mudvayne playlist and this appears is kinda dissapointing.

    metal for gays

  • @negrobazz Lulz. Get your thing right, this ain't just metal. Nu Metal or Alternative Metal. But for the biggest part this is Post-Grunge.

    Metal.. :')

    Silly boy.

  • @TheRitalinJunkies Im amazed by your music wisdom.... suck my post grunge cock

  • @negrobazz Liked the joke. Lol.

But.. Watashi wa gyūnyū o shiyō shite kappu ni tawagoto.

  • @TheRitalinJunkies Well its just like you were talking to a tree cause you know I dont speak that language so you cause no harm , I dont get it but if it works for you go for it (...geez... whatafreak)

  • one of my favorites songs of all times.

  • This song reminds me of daredevil no wonder they have it on the movie album

  • holy shit miguel cotto sings now?

    jk

  • The change from Evolve to Songs for the Restless was radical

    Both are good albums though

  • this song is a memory box and a constant remainder of what art is

  • @Deviantel how old are you? 16?

  • @AntraxMiope Nope, I'm 22

  • @Deviantel Still, I think you should revise art concept.

  • @AntraxMiope No reason to, there are different forms of art. Simple Lies isn't Mozart, if you really want to be that blantantly narrowminded and compare it to a totally different track, but it holds something to it that makes it a very emotional, inspired creation, that fit me in a moment of my life, and thus is strongly connected to it. It's a very well composed song for the genre, and has a feeling to it. I think Gil Bitton has a taste for art, and you can feel it in this song.

  • @Deviantel I agree about the first bit. I wasn't really making a narrowminded comparison. Still, I don't think it as art just by "touching" someone. I held a lot of "emotional" ties with songs from this time (specially nu metal). Eventually they lost their meaning and what's left is an unnoriginal void tune and this I think describes almost every song in the genre. Ultimately, it is easy to understand the point of all this was to sell albums, with disregard to actual talent.

  • @Deviantel What I mean is it was super easy for a teenager to "feel" something about this song or the whole genre due to social tendencies at the time. So the "feeling" wasn't something that emerged from a connection to a song or genre, but from our social environment itself. I find it hard to consider it "art" because the "feel" of it was more like a placebo to the listeners. Sorry about the spam and pardon my broken english.

  • @AntraxMiope You do have a point, and sadly, that is true for many artists, but I sincerely don't think you can make such a generalisation. Many of these artists did these songs for themselves, no matter how much the "nu metal" genre can be taken as the genre of "growing up". Especially less known bands like Endo. I don't really think that every single nu metal band out there only made raw material for sale, that's really not true. :)

  • @Deviantel Even if at a time they did take it seriously, at some point the market made the big "call" to all bands. Some of them are still making albums even worse than before. I try to play close attention to their lyrics, and... it's just a cryptic message regarding general keywords as "fear", "despair", "loneliness", etc.... Well, some of them at least

  • @AntraxMiope What are you talking about? Most teenagers love there lives. Most people i knew when i was a teen considered numetal whiney bullshit. If anything death metal and punk is much more of an appealing genre to angry teenagers rather than numetal. Don't discredit an entire genre of music just because your incapable of being honest with yourself.

  • @gorkysire If I wasn't being honest, I would never mention "growing up". I didn't discredit the whole genre, I discredit it as "art".

  • @AntraxMiope You don't have an a ounce of artistic sensibility then . and knock it off with the cliche ant-numetal regurgitation that everyone on the internet insists on spewing these days and maybe try to form some of your own opinions. A lot of Doom and sludge bands have themes very similar to numetal is that not considered art either? Or does this only apply to the genres of music you were shallowly trying to identify yourself with when you were a teenager?

  • @gorkysire Was it something that I said that made you think I need your validation on this subject? You might as well try and stop throwing different genres at me to see what fits best. The last sentence had its meaning, though : Of course I was trying to identify with the genre when I was a teen, it was a boom in my salad days. I just think You can't define "art" as something you simply like or identify with, especially since most teens are not mature enough. Neither do some adults, I might add

  • @AntraxMiope I agree on your point about the lyrics tacked on to nu metal genre. I'll be honest I feel quite embarrassed to listen to the songs once I know the lyrics. That being said, its not as easy as just picking up a guitar and creating an awesome hook like is found in this track and many other nu metal tracks. If you strip away the teenage lyrics your left with a very catchy song with a good groove thats good to listen to.

  • shit dude they have to make moree

  • I got into this band when I saw them on Ozzfest 2003. They're as good live as on a record, trust me.

  • outstretchedwings is dead right. Saw them on the same tour, in Bristow VA and they we're amazing.

  • In fact, that tour on Ozzfest introduced me to their music.

  • I had actually heard one song of theirs before Ozzfest '03. Endo's song Malice was on the Dracula 2000 soundtrack. Not the best movie but an awesome album.

  • It's Bristol. I live there :)

  • We're talking about two completely different places dude.

Bristow (the location of Nissan Pavillion where i attended Ozzfest '03) is in Northern VA between Manassas and Gainesville.

Bristol is an entirely seperate place near the Tennessee start line.

  • state line*

  • Bristol is also a place in south-west England xD

  • great song i like the way the singer moves and the way the bass players spins

  • heard this for the first time today and fucking love it

  • all the Tyra Banks wannabes, judging a band for how the lead singer looks like... all of you can suck a pickle!! Gil Bitton is a hell of a performer and amazing artist and human being... if you wanna see the "beautiful people" you can go see the jonas bros...

    lame ass motherf**kers!!

  • one of the best damn bands ever!!!

  • What ever happened to these guys? I used to live in Miami from 1997-2000 and saw them play quite a few local gigs. I even saw them open for Static-X at the Chili Pepper in Ft Lauderdale and Foo Fighters in MIami and then it seems like they just dropped off the map a few years later. I heard (but didnt attend) that they played the South By Southwest Music Fest in Austin Tx and stole the show. I still have their TShirt. These were some bad mother fuckers live.

  • They broke up in January 2007. Supposedly due to inner turmoil.

  • Shame they edited the growling at 3:43...

on the album its much longer...

  • their lyrics are talented! love this shit!

  • mierda el audifono no funciona

  • Gil is not gay. I remember these guys from ft. lauderdale at the Fubar in 1998... back in the original south miami hardcore scene.. with nonpoint, and darwins waiting room.. you guys dont know shit about that... lol do your homework kids. If any of you know any of these guys, ask them about Debase from Miami.. then come talk to me...

  • hell yeah this was the shit all them were the shit seen so many times hung out with all

  • love this band, they need to get back together and come home in ft.laud, fl..and he is a nice guy would always wait and just talk to people after shows...met them at a "a perfect circle" concert few years back was good times!

  • I was told that this band plays nu-metal but this sounds like just plain hard rock to me.

But the genre doesn't matter, this is some good shit.

  • Is the singer gay? Cuz he totally looks like it. I'm not trying to talk shit, his mannerisms just make it seem like he is.

  • haha a band named after me haha

  • tiss

  • I've always liked this band but no one has even heard of them, lol

  • the vocals takes it in the ass

  • Love this song can relate to lyrics

  • great band... love this record, Songs for the Restless is way better than Evolve, it's a shame that they disbanded :S

  • love this song... shame the sound quality is bollocks on this vid

  • i like the chorus most

  • I wish you fuckheads would quit talking about Gil Bitton...he's one of the best vocalists of our time. I'd like to see him whip every one of your fuckin gay bashing asses.

  • this song rules, but the fucking singer is just too gay !!!

  • love it ;)

  • The album is Songs for the Restless not evolve

  • true!!

  • These guys are very musically talented. This is the only song i've pretty much heard. They haven't got enough recognition as they deserve. I love this song. I think they'd do a great tour with marilyn manson if all the songs sound like this one.

  • You're right... The lead singer is a dick. I saw them with static x and eve6 when I was just a kid. I ducked out of static-x's show to get their autograph and he just wrote a straight line and gave it back to me. All the other guys were really cool though. They seemed really happy to hear I enjoyed their music.

  • the lead singer is fucking asshole

he's so gay fucking cock sucker

  • dude are you self describing here

  • no i'm describing you mother fucker

  • no you're not, you said: "the lead singer is fucking asshole

he's so gay fucking cock sucker". I am a mother fu**er(i.e. I f**k your mother) so you're for sure describing yourself... cock sucker!!!!

  • hahahahahahaha

    very funny

  • he is so not an asshole, i got to see them live and invited people to go hang out with after the show was over, and when we walked out of the place, there he was waiting for people, he was so awesome....

  • i love this song and i think the lead singer is hott too! he has such a great voice!

  • great band great song, and who cares what the singer looks like, I guess all you people care about is image in a band, ha, trend-whores!
