  • that is vista

  • Im a Windows fans....but i have to say this.....they need to make sure that the multitouch supported software will be very responsive to the touch....bcos in tis video, it seems like the zoom in & out is a bit laggy, not responsive enuf. with the powerful hardware of today, i think it shudnt hav tis kind of problem.

  • MY TITS ARE HAIRY

  • Another window`s bad imitation. There is in microsoft someone who with some kind of original ideas? Is microsoft only try to follow Apple`s inovations with bad and ugly trash like this fetus?

  • Who says this vista is dumb ass because i have same windows 7 touch application like that

  • UMM ITS WINDOWS VISTA U DUMFUCK

  • @stupidandpointlesvid apparently we have an idiot here...

  • OMG who would shit in a babies mouth sick bastard

  • what a crap.im better fast with my mouse

  • real cool

  • Touch screen on a pc serves no purpose its like a backward step in tech, why be that close to the screen & being uncomfotable when u can sit back relax & do faster & less awkward movements with your mouse, probably the worse invention for a pc ever, it only serves as a good purpose for smartphones & that is it !!!

  • thats vista u dumb ass

  • @DavidRockin1

vista and windows 7 look a lot alike. so unless you have windows 7, you probably couldn't tell the difference from this short video

  • @xxgoshko thats windows vista in the video, windows 7 has a different task bar, its not as round/smooth edged as vista and it has square icons, not the rectangles used for a application thats running in the taskbar that you see on windows xp and vista. 7 uses square icons.

  • @SASenglish Just because has the same UI doesnt mean its vista, according to the description it looks like it was hosted pre release. eg, before they changed the UI.

  • @DavidRockin1 NO IT ISNT DUMBASS

  • this is vista ! Win 7 touch is coming out 3. jun 2010 !

  • don't like touch, better is no touch =D

  • this is vista dick

  • @Aboydebeat12 Actually is Windows 7 in a preliminary build. The user interface was like Vista by then... who's the dick?

  • lol this touch support is beyond shitty

    what is this 2008

  • @frother it was in the video, dumbshit.

  • someone notice that laptop is Vista? not 7 start icon is vista along with the task bar

  • does the microsoft table use windows 7 multi touch OS?

  • I like how they have to call multitouch "N-trig DuoSense TM", as if that clears up the meaning of it...

  • Multi-touch on these nuts.

  • My macbook pro NEVER HAVE CRASHED !!! and i have it for 3 years now. :)

  • All store bought PC's are complete pieces of shit. Build your own PC and then you will know how great a PC can be...... People saying Alienware or MAC, etc are dumb as fuck LMFAO NOOBLETS.....

  • Thats kus viruses are silent and slip through unnoticed

  • @MicMeez916 You haven't been out much have you?

Either that or you're just a wasteful person, I'm sure you throw away food like you throw away your money, buying a Macbook, P'sha. My HP has better specs overall than that overpriced piece of aluminum.

  • @MicMeez916 yeah you have limited things to do in MAC, I have a windows 7 cost me $ 2500, on all the upgrades on the hardware. I have great experience using it. Mac has limited game, and other software to do in Mac. You say people only use PC cause they cant afford Mac, I guess your a newbie in computer. I can even dual boot in my pc to use Linux and still no virus best of all its free.. Noob xD

  • fuck all linux its mutch better thans windows and mac oh and fuckers ? its freeeeeeeee

  • @Nik8157 Yeah bit laggy depends on your specs, but you'll never have much fun in just using mac than a windows.

  • True story. I got this kid in my remedial English class who sits in the back with his Macbook talks super smart but lacks common-sense. The way this guy speaks is unbelievable and profound but in the end hes still in a remedial "English" class.

  • Mac VS Windows on multi touch sounds to me like saying:

"Who invented clothes?" or "Who invented houses?"

I guess they both needed it and figured out a way to register more than one touch.

I still like Windows a lot better, though.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt Neither mac or windows invented it, it was a professor at a university...

  • This Mac/PC brawl is uninteresting. Both companies purchase the IP of other companies in order to bring a new product to market. Neither iPhone nor Microsoft Surface are entirely the brainchilds of either company.

Let's try to keep in mind that what's most interesting here is how a new technology can be used for everyone's convenience and quit complaining about Apple or some other favored company of choice.

  • @Satansbreten01

You were just owned by the very video you thought that proved you right. Congratulations.

    Stupid Micro$haft fanboy.

  • FFS why can't I find a multi touch screen that I can put on my table for use as a drawing tablet and secondary screen :(

  • i love apple

  • you mean the i pad the 400 to 800 dollar screen that came late after microsoft surface came out?

  • @vwlover94

yes ..:P and it looks awsome ..im gonna buy it !!

  • I second you.Sorry M$.

  • that's windows vista not 7

  • vista?

  • where is the innovation? it's just ridiculous to see how microsoft keeps using mac technologies 3 years after they introduce it... these are just widgets like in dashboard with pinching like on the iphone...

  • This is multi-touch, where as the apple technologies can only comprehend two fingers, which is to zoom in and out. And so what if companies rip off at each other? Don't you want those companies to fight for who can make the best software? I mean, why should you care? You will end up with a much better product in the end.

  • Wrong. Apple has its own Multi-Touch technology (THEY invented THEIR specific type of Multi-touch, they never claimed to be the first ones at the concept of multitouch), and it supports any number of fingers. Apple only used two fingers for its iPhone apps due to screen size (you try using four-finger gestures on a 3.5" screen!), but third party apps show the use of three-fingered and four-fingered actions

  • Apple is not the inventor! Its not Apple Technology. Apple has copied it either. Multitouch was invented in the 90s by Bell Labs and University of Toronto. The best development was from New York University in 2004, wich was presented on TED Conference 2006:

    watch?v=UcKqyn-gUbY

    Stupid Apple-followers!

  • Well, Microsoft developed since 2003 their "Microsoft Surface" multitouch-computer and software. MS showed it in 2005 (Before Apple had something) and officially sold it since 2006. So who copied? To me its unfair from Apple, that they registered the name "Multi-Touch", because the NY University used this name already in the TED - so to me that is copying and stealing!

  • Wrong. Check your dates. Microsoft CLAIMS it started development on the Surface on 2005, the same year Apple bought FingerWorks to start developing the iPhone. They actually showed it to public late 2007 (post-iPhone), and only sold a few of them since 2008. Multi-touch is an obvious name, so Apple didn't "copy" it either. They just registered a trademark for it (with a capital T).

  • Wrong! See even on Wikipedia and look for Microsoft surface: "The product idea for Surface was initially conceptualized in 2001 by Steven Bathiche of Microsoft Hardware and Andy Wilson of Microsoft Research. In October 2001, a virtual team was formed with Bathiche and Wilson as key members, to bring the idea to the next stage of development. In 2003, the team presented the idea to the Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, in a group review."

  • Conceptualized in 2001. Wow. I could have conceptualized and iPod-phone on 2001.

Only in 2003 they presented the boss their idea... what were they doing for two years?

All of these claims are Microsoft's: there is no one outside the company that can prove that, because NO ONDE DID UNTIL 2007!

  • "Later, the virtual team was expanded and a prototype nicknamed T1 was produced within a month. Over the next year, Microsoft built more than 85 early prototypes for Surface. The final hardware design was completed in 2005."

So MS finished Surface in 2005!

Apple followers always lie and manipulate the truth!

  • 85 early prototypes.... for a device that only sold around 850 units...

"The final hardware design was completed in 2005"

Assuming M$ wasn't lying they said this, they were refering to HARDWARE DESIGN, you retard, the actual product wasn't finished until it shipped in 2008. 2-0-0-8. And it was a failure because it was just a 30" touch screen with sloppy interface attached to a standard PC.

    Who's manipulating the truth now?

  • The first multitouch screens were invented in the 90s, yes. But Apple's specific implementation of Multi-touch was Apple's own, thus their claims of creation and the trademark. For example, Surface's multi-touch works with proximity sensors aligned with the screen projector (thus the reason of its size and clunkiness), whereas Apple uses a type of capacitive LCD screen. It also seems that the multitouch technology from that video is projector-based: So Microsoft probably copied them.

  • @mikael123defloor windows sidebar was one of the first things added to vista (longhorn) when development started in 2001. Mac OS X Tiger (version 10.4) was the one to introduce "widgets" in 2005. Google side bar came out before tiger in 2004 witch featured these widgets. Konfabulater debuted in 2003 witch gave users a full widget experience. Pinching was demonstrated at a developer conference in 2006 called TED. You need to stop being a uninformed apple fan-boy.

  • @signofdevil666

Why the *** are u talking aobut widgets, srsly??? I never said a damn thing 'bout them.

and, uhmm. Why are u reading all the comments people made 8 months ago? That' really shows what a damn windows-fanboy you are. Probs copying everything right off wikipedia.

I just can't believe it, digging op 8-month old comments, pffff, get a life, srsly

  • I hope it comes with a lifetime supply of windex.

  • ur other finger on the mouse idiot haha

  • This is so not the future :)

  • so how the future would be?

  • so, you're fingers replace the mouse.

    woop... di... doo

proof the techies are running out of ideas.

  • its cool one thing i don't like is the big Price and another the screen is tiny

  • Looks like it would just become a nuisance... Has potential though

  • Hmm it seems not very responsive. That is paramount to good userfriendlyness.

  • i wanna play cs source on a touch, fucking HEAD SHOT!!!!! lol but this is a great vid, i ordered my windows 7 pro yesterday its on its way, can't wait.

  • Dammit if I have one more iNazi try to sell me Apple crap I'm going to lose it

  • i feel silly using my mouse now

  • can put more technology and many new things but I always used to do stupid things ...

  • Why would I want to rub my hands all over the PC screen like I'm making pizza dough to enlarge and accidentally spin a photo when I can do all the above with a mouse with 2 buttons and a scroll wheel? I have enough finger prints on my screens anyway!

  • lol at the crazy mac dude :)

  • I found this monitor on NewEgg, looks like a great future buy.

  • talk as mutch as you want kiddos

MAC(Apple) is way better then any other tipe of computer :)

Mac > PC in every fucking way

there are just some haters that spam everywhere that mac sux cus they cant face the facts

  • @Petiofii

The only thing what makes PC better, are the games.

For all the rest, Mac owns PC

  • I´m a systemdeveloper and as all other systemdevelopers I have no idea why people claim mac is better. They are ages behind when it comes to programming. There is a reason why most applications is done to windows more than the fact that mac has a small piece of the market.

Mac OS is all eyecandy and marketing nothing else and with windows 7 they have lost the eyecandy to a OS that look better and is more useful and actually is alot faster and secure too.OS-X is by far the most unsecure OS

  • I personaly would go for linux. i find this a nice and smoot running OS.but it to have its own downsides like u need "vine" i belive to run .exe files. and all the windows OS out there is going slower over time and i dont talk of weeks i speak of days before it starts slowing down. and this is just on of manny problems i have personaly had wit windows. an Linux for that matter. but i havent gone to testin mac and may neve do so. But they can take windows programs to so i dont see the point

  • Only reason for why i windows OS used to slow down is for all the programs you installed. I have runned win7 since the Beta came out on my 5year old computer and it has always been as fast as it was when I first installed it and i have alot of heavy programs on it including windows sql server 2008.

The old OS where also very easy to fix by editing the startupconfiguration with the msconfig tool and could get an old computer be as new again without having to reinstall.

  • This is not true. Windows 7 still have the registry which get filled up with crud with each program you install. With the new microsoft installer prorgams also stores their installataion files, in C:\Windows\Installer, and in AppData. Microsoft is the very model for bloat and bad programming. Just see what awful Direct3D was in the beginning.

  • @darkultra Most computer users don't even know about the registry

  • I just switched to Ubuntu 9.10, after using Windows all my life, and am very happy with the change. It's a entirely different philosophy behind it, and that really shows up in terms of performance, speed and stability (and PRICE!!!)

  • I can debunk that easily.

Number one: Registry. Time consuming to backup and restore user data and settings. If the registry file gets corruptet, user looses all that is stored there and needs to create a brand new user profile and type in all passwords and accounts in for instance Outlook (yes this happened at work, ntuser.dat i/o hardware error bad cluster).

Number two: Try to resize a IE browser window in windows 7 and see the tearing and slowness and jerkyness that MacOS X lacks

  • @darkultra who uses IE browser anyway?

if i had to choose between UNIX type systems ill go with linux, but they dont work for me.

btw, im running windows 7 and it is really fast. oh and, a friend of mine bought a macbook pro and asked me to install windows 7 in it...

he doesnt boot into os x anymore :D

  • omfg :D ... IE is still MOST USED BROWSER.

  • hmm, ok

EDIT: ...which INTELIGENT human being uses IE? xd

  • Most people really dont give a fuck about their browser, of course IE 7&8 is not usable anyway.

  • @Brozium May i ask a question seeing as windows 7 is BIOS and Mac OSX is Kernal, you must of used Boot Camp ;) as you cant install Bios on Kernal :P

  • @mrvbgeek yup, used bootcamp :P

  • @mrvbgeek Ya okay your sentence doesn't make any sense whatsoever. BIOS is a type of basic firmware that boots operating systems. A Kernel is the operating system. are calling windows a program that loads OSeS

  • @signofdevil666 read your first sentence, then read your last.... hehe

  • He is dumb.

And OS X is based on Unix...

  • OSX is based on Unix, which is still ahead of Microsoft windows. Even 7 is messy business. Apple chose to do it properly, and gradually moved more and more of the UI over to the GPU. Microsofts counterpart, Direct2D, is still beta. They had the GDI, then the GDI+ which if you remember would make any video flicker if you had "fade in" menus over the video overlay. Now GDI+ isnt hardware accelerated any more, and makes vista and 7 even more sluggish.

  • i would defenitively use linux, but i can't just because of software compatibility. cant use fl studio, photoshop and other programs on linux and im not sticking with wine.

so maybe ill get dual boot linux and windows 7 as soon as i get an external drive to backup all my data :D

  • Windows vista and 7 now have GDI+, WPF, Direct2D, Direct3D through WDM (desktop composition).

    Check out

    watch?v=ToFgYylqP_U

and you can see how windows 7 is slower and uses several times more CPU power then Windows XP. I dual boot to XP and 7, and NVIDIA control panel takes several seconds to launch in 7, while it is almost instant in XP. File analyze and defrag with PerfectDisk is also much slower. I can go on and on, but check sites that benchmark XP vs VISTA vs 7 for yourself.

  • Yeah right you're a "systemdeveloper". The fact OS X is based on Unix alone makes it more secure than windows.

Aged behind? Oh, that's why they created and OS that runs BOTH 32 and 64 bit apps w/o penalties and technologies that the fucking entire world are starting to use for multi-core CPUs? OpenCL, GCD, yeah, so many ages behind...

A lot faster and secure? That's easy since M$ was comparing it with VISTA. And OS X doesn't need to lose eye-candy to be faster than its predecessor =)

  • wooooww thats awsome

  • wat r some of these apps?

  • windows is soo much better than mac in sooo many ways that why its so much more popular

  • Or your just a cheap as who hasn't tried out OSX?

I to am a pc user but now mainly a mac user. No surprise most people hit on the price as a bad thing, its worth the price so stop the crappy argument each have the advantages.

  • i have tried osx a bit wasn't impressed and its not really worth the price i mean yes it is decent but not worth the price. and yes each do have there advantages but windows seems to have a bit more

  • ...for less.

  • Actually OS X costs $129

  • yeah, like anyone would believe that...

    I can picture your "trial"

"Ok, here it is, OS X... Safari? Seems to be the browser. Nothing much different to other browsers, so nothing special. Where do you quit? WHaat? closing the window does not close the program? lol, apple sux, bye"

  • kind of wonder how dirty the computer is after finish

  • Does it come with piece of cloth?

or is it anti finger prints surface?

  • Dream on , it's not about apple's software only

There have been alot of tests, which all proved that apple's audio quality is much better then windows'.

And another reason why almost EVERY musician uses apple is that they can be sure to have a very stable OS, they don't use PC's, because they can crash at any moment, that would fuck their shows.

And if you don't agree, just look closer

Windows->gamers, hackers, people who don't need a good computer

    Apple->audio/video/photo apps

  • Please do some reasearch before POSTING you damn dumbass...

Windows and Mac used to be ONE company back in the days, then they splitted, Mac kept on creating high-quality computers while Windows went commercial, by creating cheap computers for people with low standards, it is also mac who created the GUI (and more then 50% of windows OS).

If you would know something about computers, you should know that without apple's GUI windows wouldn't be more then a siple CLI, without any images.

  • A world with windows won't excist when there's no mac, but I'm not arguming anymore with one of those windows-die-hards who just ignore facts and keeps on giving his own opinions...

  • PM that "link" to me as well, let's see what the clown has to say!

  • These retarded remarks without any support show just how childish you are, and therefore, your words are as good as of a Twilight-addicted mindless fangirl

  • Apple was the first to come out with a graphical user interface, but that doesn't mean Windows copied the idea. Apple overcharged (and continued to overcharge) for their products by hundreds to thousands more than the product is actually worth. Quit your bitching. Apple stole the 2 mouse click idea.

  • same for Gamers/windows fanatics like you, if you don't know the history of both OS's, don't open your damn mouth.

    I'm not arguming with a dumbass windows-fan...

  • Who really gives a shit about the history? Windows is the better OS. That's the reality.

  • correction, that's your reality...

  • Please explain how mac is better than windows. "Macs are immune to PC viruses"

OF COURSE THEY ARE! Just as PC's are immune to Mac viruses. Cat's don't catch the flu. Specific viruses target specific hosts.

  • You forgot that Macs don't have any viruses.

  • yes it really is a better OS.

  • WOW, the LORD OF TRUTH HAS SPOKEN! ALL BOW TO HIS MAGNIFICENT MIGHT!

    =/

Really? Got anything to say (that isn't BS, that is) to support your feeble argument?

  • Sorry dude... you need to get a history lesson. Graphical UIs pre-date both Apple and MS. Look up Xerox PARC and tell me what you learn...

  • Xerox Parc barely had any of the GUI elements Mac OS created. The one thing Parc has in common with Mac OS is a graphical user interface controlled by a tracking device. Even the mouse was hugely different. The point is, PARC didn't know WTF do to with it, so they WILLINGLY SOLD both concepts to Apple, which modified them extensively to create a user-friendly UI. M$, on the other hand, copied AND stole their ideas from Apple: they didn't buy or invent something new at all.

  • Apple wasnt first. they copied it from atari...

For every thing that apple have done there is always someone they have copied it from. Somehow they get away with it by claiming its their idea...

Check out early C64 and Atari and then look at mac and you can see that they copied it right off.

The have also lost their patent on multitouch cause guess what.. they stole the idea

  • 1) Atari? Why don't you go back to smoking your pot

    2) Apple didn't lose their patent at all and didn't steal their multi-touch application from anyone: the specific method used to detect multiple touches at once was developed in-house with engineers from FingerWorks (now part of Apple). That's why the surface needs a huge projector inside a big fat table and iPhone doesn't.

  • Then you recognize that Microsoft stole the whole mouse-based GUI idea. Which one is worse?

Besides, Apple never "stoled" the two-button mouse. I can still use my Mac only with a one-button mouse: Apple only started to sell two-button mice a few years ago in order to make windows switchers more comfortable.

  • Apple and Microsoft never were one company. Microsoft started out developing programs for the Macintosh and used their experience with them to copy it and create windows

  • @MusicStylez OH MY FUCKING GOD I CANT BELIEVE HOW FUCKING STUPID YOU ACTING. Windows and mac aren't companies there products. Mac copied Xeroxes product. Microsoft did the same. Apple prototyped Lisa. while micro soft prototyped windows. When Lisa was deemed to be too expensive it was canceled. And then a new low cost smaller screened version of the Lisa began development. It was called the Macintosh. Macintosh was simply released first.

  • Didn't it? Then why was Microsoft sued for it?

  • @MusicStylez windows made his computer? windows is not a person or a male. five years? windows 10.0 was released in 1985. ONE YEAR after machintosh. APPLE COPIED THE FUCKING XEROX ALTO. the alto came out in 1973 11 FUCKING YEARS BEFORE MACINTOSH

  • No, that's from the Original Macintosh from 1984

  • @MusicStylez really army. so because he's in the army he's qualified to make those fucking idiotic comments about mac. I've already refuted this several times so look up my other comments on this video.

  • windows in the same sentence of "easy", not succeeded by "not"

Do you have any idea of what you're typing?

  • @MusicStylez So you're supporting mac by saying it's harder to write programs for?

  • Windows is only "awesome at games" because it has all of them. From a processor efficiency standpoint, OS X is superior, specially with Snow Leopard. Any claims of lack of proper GPU's is a lazy ass' argument since even the worst GPU Apple ships with their computers can play MW2 at medium settings.

  • @MusicStylez So if i hooked an apple computer to a pair of ordinary speakers and a pc to a surroud sound system the mac would sound better? I mean seriously of all the possible arguments you could have come up you came up with fucking AUDIO QUALITY!!!??!!?

  • @signofdevil666

Pfff, just one thing: Why are u starting to talk about speakers? I'm just saying: Macs DO have better quality output and better reliability. Why would almost every producer/performer/DJ use Mac u think?

I'm not going to be talking with retards like you. The only thing u're proving here, is that u're a pro at using the word 'fucking'.

  • @MusicStylez Ok I'll do it your way. PCs are expandable that means you could get another program to handle audio or hook a better soundcard.

  • @signofdevil666

And that's exactly what I'm saying: you need a whole bunch of stuff to expand it, and that will automatically increase your latency.

  • @MusicStylez aren't it depends on what hardware you have?? cuz mac and pc can use the same hardware really.... mac allready built computer products are always good in audio and battery :P pc or Window's os are better in graphics.. ohh reliability? i think theyre both equal... it just that Linux limits the user.. while windows allow user to abuse the computer.. it depends on how the person use it.. though macs is over price^_^ its like allienware from dell....

  • what is that application/ feature that allows one to write behind photos like the photo at 0.30s in the video?

  • Apple is a complete load of bull shit. All they have is advertising power to reel in noobs that don't know what a computer actually is.

INVEST IN PC! Own an actual computer!!

  • I agree. Apple is for users who don't know how to handle technology. it's great having to built your own custom computer and using windows is just as great. PC is limitless you can do whatever you want with it....

  • I can do whatever I want with my Mac too.

  • You forgot the fact that there is a greater n00b/geek ratio on the PC than on the Mac...

Just because people like things to be straightforward and issue-less, it doesn't mean they are stupid. Quite the contrary actually.

  • wookieeassassin go blow some ass dude you hate microsoft because you went stupid and probably bought a mac and ill say it for every one who uses one... its def a stupid direction plus you still can get viruses must note that any machine that has a hard drive can get viruses if connected to the internet...

  • No, because there aren't any know viruses that affect Mac OS X.

According to your brilliant logic, Xboxes, Wiis, PS3, iPods and iPhone could all get viruses.

    They don't.

And once again, Apple users are the "stupid ones"...

  • @lukeskymac hey stupid its because there game systems or phones that don't have computer OS capabilities. and maybe if you did some research you would see mac computers do get viruses. not that it makes a difference they crash on their own without malicious material. :)

  • What viruses? Over a 2-year period since I first got my MacBook, it has maybe crashed once. Also, I am an 'advanced' user of the operating system because I do programming in multiple languages on the Linux platform and Mac OS X. I do own a PC as well, and despite not doing much more than opening Internet Explorer, it crashes at least once a week. Keep in mind my mac is ALWAYS on.

  • @ConnorAlves thats because your using Explorer
