iPhone is definitely better. My first android phone was the Sanyo zio then the htc Evo, then nexus s 4g, then the htc Evo 3D.. Overall, the iPhone is just a much more superior phone. I'll never consider going back to android..

Android is a much broader term than iphone as there are a lot more choices when it comes to android. That being said, with android you have to wade through a lot more crap to find the right android phone. Overall, I like android more because it provides a similar experience with more freedom. Apple does like to control a lot of things.

You can't really blame the entire android market for a bad phone, i have a Droid X2, and it works great! besides, if i recall correctly, the iPhone only has one or two carriers. if you have used apple products all your life, then that's great, id advise getting an iPhone, but i used the Zune, and i didn't want to transfer to an iPhone after all that. android will not kill iPhone, but it is a good competitor.

i know several high end software geeks who absolutely hate iphone for the sole reason that the iphone operating system is too limited for their uses. There is no customization available for the iphone. The argument that the iphone is more user friendly is perfectly valid, as is true with most apple products. I myself am an apple user, but have an android phone. It really comes down to personal preference.
