  • Love the videos!! what kind of fishing line do you use for your mitchell avocet

  • @djwest2424 Hello djwest! At the time this video was shot, I was using a high quality monofilament line. Presently, I really like to use flourocarbon line...a little more expensive, but virtually invisible to the fish!!! Take care!

  • hey sir went there i caught five 10 bass in an hour i used your advice i used a watermelon colored power worm four inches and boy did i tear them up thank you tight lines!

  • @tutu93977 Really glad you had a nice fishing day, and that my tips helped! Please remember to practice catch and release so that we can all go out there and catch them again...hopefully when they are bigger!!! Please keep in touch!

  • thank you sir greatly appriciated going there to day thanks!

  • @tutu93977 My pleasure! Due to the change in weather, the bass and their habits have changed. Went out today, late afternoon, and caught a couple of bass on BPS stick worms (4.25") in watermelon. They didn't touch the shad imitations. Good luck!

  • man went there this summer not a single bass but you could see them by the 100,s! but do you have any tips on the pond like what color lure you use and how you work them? thanks!

  • @tutu93977 Hello Tutu! I know what you mean...sometimes they can be REAL finicky! When it is HOT, like it was this summer, their primary concern is trying to stay cool. So, fish early, or fish late! Best colors for me have been watermelon or pumpkin. During the heat, work the lure SLOWLY! Fish are trying to conserve energy...remember, hot water has less oxygen! Working for me now! Shad imitations! Good luck!

  • what pond it this???? the only pond i know of out there is mary joe....

  • @jamesjamesa Hello! Actually, this lake is in the LaCenterra area of Cinco Ranch! Have had many good days of fishing there!

  • @TheFishinFanatic awesome!!! yea i been there but got kicked out by there security for not living there

  • Nice video. I think we ran into each other once early this year (or late last year) at La Centerra. Its a really nice productive pond to take the kids to spend an afternoon.

Yes, since the water is clear, the bass there really go for watermelon-colored soft plastics.

Its too bad the ponds are right now covered in algae though.

  • @adanvjr Yes, that algae really does not help matters! I've been having fun catching panfish with my fly outfit, and am occasionally scaring up a bass or two. We need some rain!!! Thanks again!

  • if you go on the other lake by the library, and go on the rocks and use Gary Yamato theyre like green, and use a red hook and set up a texas rig you can catch em all day my personal best is 21 with 2 people in 3-4 hours

  • @LaxBreaux12 Hello! Yes, that area can really produce! Thanks for sharing!

  • try on the other side of where you were the that one tree is with lots of stumps

  • @goin650 Yes, that area that you mention can be very productive..as are a few other areas that I have not yet shown. Soon! ;-)

  • love this place. i caught my first bass here. i used to be fenderlover1997 but now im goin650. i used to live there and would fish every day. i still visit this lake but i moved to richmond . try out 4 inch watermelon/green fry, works great

  • WHAT POND IS THIS, AND HOWS THE FISHING AT MARY JO PECKHAM PARK

  • @67bradenlee Hello! This is at LaCenterra! The fishing at MJP is okay...I've fished it a few times, and it seems to get some heavy traffic. May just go out and try it again soon...

  • @TheFishinFanatic hey man i live in houston, but where is laCenterra??

  • @thefishinginHS Hello! LaCenterra is actually a little shopping location, located on the Grand Parkway (highway 99) and Cinco Ranch Blvd. There are some small lakes behind this shopping center...actually behind the library located next to LaCenterra. Those 3 little lakes can be nicely productive.

  • WHAT POND IS THIS, AND HOWS THE FISHING AT MARY JO PECKHAM PARK

  • I love that pond . My grandma lives in those apartments to the left. I usually catch the fish on rattle traps and 4inch frys

  • @fenderlover1997 Yes, its a nice little pond! What color traps do you use? Here lately, I've had great success throwing crawfish (small) imitations! Thanks again!

  • Is that the equestrian center in the background there?

Is this considered a private lake/pond for Cinco Ranch residents only?

  • @spacemanspiff2012 - Very close! Actually, this was shot at one of the lakes near La Centerra. Yes, it is supposed to be for the residents / guests of Cinco Ranch...but I have met several folks fishing there who aren't.

  • @spacemanspiff2012 anyone can go fishing, i recomened at this time of the year to go rainbow trout fishing, get a small hook around size 12 and a trout 3 inch worm, orange and yellow and use a weight about 12 inches from the bottom of the line then just cast your line and sit and wait.

  • where is this lake??? i might fish there.

  • @firehero56 - It is one of the three lakes of La Centerra! Basically, near the intersection of the Grand Parkway and Cinco Ranch Blvd. Good luck!

  • is katy texas by houston?

  • @firehero56 Hello! Yes, Katy is near Houston...located just to the West!

  • i have a mitchell avocet2 gold G-2000f. Is this same thing?? Using my reel.. I want to catch more fish. thanks

  • @kindman718 Hello! Yes, I believe it is the same family, however, your 2000 model is slightly larger than the one that I am using (1000). Yours should be excellent for catching fish like I am! Good luck to you!

  • Is that Mitchell Avocet reel and good reel for 2-5 pound bass fishing? Good for spinner, buzz, chatter baits? thanks

  • @Str8Style Hello! Yes, I truly love this little reel...it has been very dependable, and has not had any problems handling the fish that I have caught (up to 3 lb bass). Though I haven't tried it with all the types of lures you have mentioned, it has handled worms, spinners and topwaters well! Hope this helps!
