  • DERP

  • lmao..

  • MMM this is why I stick to my Ford 7.3

  • Comment removed

  • Well, theres your problem right there...Ran outta blinker fluid :)

  • General motors made this engine for light and medium-duty trucks. You think it's weird that it blows while pulling 20.000 lbs? Pffhhuh

  • Ford may have not taken the bailout shit but they still havent been and never will be the number 1 automotive producer in the world. so ford can powerstroke its shit ass quality motors right into the furnace cause chevy needs more metal to make their duramax.

  • tie rods on chevys always break in pulls...its a fact of life...good ol IFS on a diesel! once they put sleeved tie rods on tho they are normally pretty good

  • FUCK CHEVY

  • I bet that majority of this truck is stock and when put under that kind of pressure anything will break I have owned all the big 3 diesels and My Cummins and Duramax are the only ones I still own because they can handle the work I put them through I will continue to buy old Cummins and new Duramax's until something better and stronger cummins out

  • I'm pretty sure the tie rods on these are only made of cast iron

  • any truck is bound to break sooner or later when you put that much weight behind it

  • wrong tittle. its not why not to buy a duramax, its why not to tractor pull a duramax, dipshit

  • @ZackIs18 ya i agree when you put this much weight behind a truck its boound to break

  • If breaking a tie rod is the only reason you wouldnt own a duramax.. you may be retarded. Dodge transmissions are much more expensive than replacing tie rods. Ford's 6.0 and 6.4 bullsh*t is much more expensive than replacing tie rods. Oh and upgrade tie rods can be bought.

  • i see duramax as a one that is showing off cummins and powerstroke are for work

  • Its a truck who gives a shit, buy a car.

  • The 7.3 Powerstroke is the only ford diesel that was worth a darn, they would run quite a while before they break! The 6.0 and 6.4 are both trash, too complex. Time will tell if the 6.7 is any better, not holding my breath. Nothing wrong with an IZUZU/Duramax, it kicks the 6.0 and 6.4 Power Strokes butt!! NAVISTAR tried to copy the Duramax, Epic FAILURE! The Allison Transmission is the best in the business! Take one apart side by side with the FORD, you will be amazed!

  • my power stroke has over a mill miles

  • Furd PowerStrokes CANNOT even last long enough to break the truck!

Furd's eat turbo's, valves, heads, cylinders, injectors, and the HORRID electrical system and the transmission is 1 word = JUNK.

Duramax engines RUN without having to be replaced at 50,000 with a re-man engine.

I have seen countless Furd Diesels they ALL suffer chronic problems, and most are NOT fixable without spending MORE money than the truck is worth.

  • @wolfram00777 They only way FORDs do that is because people run the shit out of them, that will happen to any truck. PowerStroke is a great engine, and cummins is better. Duramax was just to late. But not all trucks are perfect. The best truck you can have is Cummins on ford, with allison tranny.

  • The Duramax looks like it broke the Chevy. All trucks suck. You need a Cummins on a Ford frame and axles, a allison tranny, a Atlas T-case, GM suspension, and pick your own body, that wood be a real truck.

  • @linemanbiermann that would be perfect

  • @linemanbiermann just about the ultimate truck there, though id go with a roadranger trans

  • @linemanbiermann thatd be a bad mother fucker lol

  • @linemanbiermann O hell yeah, everyone wants to bash brands but no one has the balls to built it yourself - you said it lineman

  • the video should be re titled why not to make huge reliable HP without upgrading your tie rods.. i have a cummins but the duramax is by far and away the next best thing

  • Duramax designed by CAT? That must a really lil known fact because they were designed by Isuzu

  • i buy honda trucks 8) LOOOL

  • I'm sorry but this is my biggest complaint about GM trucks, garbage ass car suspension on a "truck", straight axle or go home people

  • thats why u change the arms dumb ass

  • duramax .......actully desighned by CAT. lil known fact,

  • @b4passat duramax actually designed by izuzu

your comment = little knowledge. Fact

  • The sled kicked the Chevy's ass lol

  • fuck you all and your brand loyalty bullshit

  • That's not a issue if ur not a baby and buy a straight axel.

  • tie rod failure Ford=solid straight axles no tie rod failure Dodge equals=solid straight axle no tie rod failure chevy=good engine why in the crap would you put IFS on a 3 quarter ton?????????? tie rod fail

  • welp, see ya later tie rods!

  • Im a ford guy but its just because for some reason chevy chose to put IFS in all there trucks and not a straight axle

  • got the death wobble in the front tires

  • B L O W OUT special!

  • well dick nobs its not made to tow shit like that lol

  • dodge isnt much better the upper and lower ball joints are loose at 10,000 miles and drive all over the road when trac bars are loose. people have there own opinions

  • It didn't break. It was walking it out

  • This wasn't the engine you tool, IMO its making too much power. That was just chevys front independent at its worst.

  • Looked like a drivetrain issue to me (front passenger axle shaft most likely), nothing to do with the duramax. You're just a little Ford or Dodge fanboy that's ignorant. I might be a Chevy guy, but I do like Dodge and Ford to. Maybe people need to realize it's not even Chevy vs Dodge vs Ford anymore except little here and there, it's really domestic vs japanese import now.

  • @SouthernGuy8503 so true i love fords but i would rather drive domestic anything over japanese anything

  • Too much power for it to handle. Good IMO

  • only thing i hate bout the duramak set up, needs a solid front axle for all that torque there pushing out!

  • Cummings is Better

  • @Sabrewulf007 You are an IDIOT!

  • @Sabrewulf007 At least spell it right if your going to talk shit ,you dumbfuck!

  • @TheDCS2012 You're*

  • @Sabrewulf007

Cummins, unless cummings is a new motor that isnt even out yet!

  • fords sooo great thats why they use a cummins motor and a allision trans for thier f650/750 it doesnt even come with a powerjoke option.

  • all that was, was WAY to much power to the front with no drive-train upgrades... this video shows the RAW POWER of the Duramax

  • looked more like bad luck then anything and Im a FORD guy, and I haul 1100+lbs in the BED of a 2001 ranger lol

  • just buy a land rover (the best in the world)

  • @AlexTripleMB I like the way you think! lol

  • AT LEAST DURAMAX CAN BREAK A TRUCK INSTEAD OF BREAKING ITSELF

  • shoulda bought a dodge

  • @TheOlpaddywalsh notice how no one liked your comment lol!

  • that is common with duramaxes

  • all these big time chevy guys defending a japanese motor go figure duramax engines are built by izusu

  • the Duramax didnt break. THE CHEVY DID!!!

  • duraflop

  • The truck isnt designed to do pro pulling, its a pickup, not a tractor

  • So, because a basically stock truck with IFS torques the crap out of the front wheels, this is why not to buy a Duramax? That's like saying not to buy a plasma TV because it's going in a room the will have the lights turned on once in a while.

  • if anyone uses this as a basis for buying a truck they're fucking retarded

  • Let's be honest now.... how many people are going to buy a heavy duty diesel truck and go pro pulling with it? Probably less than a tenth of 1%, if that. Besides you can always buy beefier aftermarket stuff anyway....

  • I could show all of you why not to be a Cummins.. come one. They all have their weak points! Actually the new Chevy IFS front end is rated for more than the Dodge solid axle. I like all the 3 new trucks, but I would have my specific reasons for each of the trucks I'd buy. The Ford and Dodge to work, the Dodge and Chevy to play.. Maybe I am a little Dodge biased still.

  • This is your reasoning for "not buying a Duramax". You see, when you hook a truck like this to a sled you're OVERLOADING or Exceeding the capacity of the truck. It's driver error, not the truck.

  • lol...Duramax has nothing to do with it. I have heard of almost no problems with the engine....until someone pulls a giant sled with it...lol JK There is no telling how much previous abuse this engine had taken before this pull anyway. I would judge an engine after actual statistics, not the random "I know a guy with a ford that ran off the road and smashed into a tree so ford sux!!" type comments.

  • then dont beat the shit out of a truck by pulling a sled holy shit thats just torture

  • @KWSIMREEN the trucks are supposed to be built for it by the time they are in the sled pull

  • Cut the truck up

  • hahahaha what a typical pos dirty max for you!!!!

  • That can happen to any truck.. Don't say it's a Duramax problem.. Matter fact Duramax engine had nothing to do with this problem..

  • Comment removed

  • yeah, Im gonna go drive my monte carlo like its a stunt jumper then bitch about the fact it broke in half.

  • Thats why you dont lift your truck that high when your doing truck pulls.....

  • looked expensive

  • none of these truck manufacturers ( Ford Chrysler, nor Chevy make their own diesel engines. Powerstroke is made by International harvester, Chrysler is Cummins. and Chevy is Isuzu. So they are all Bastardized.LOL

  • no a ford would handle that torque. and if u put a pos duramax in a ford it would run like shit and blow the first day. u knw gm is own by the goverment and u knw they dont no money into the car or pos truck anymore. haha pay for it worth the money and time.

  • Lol dumb asses put that engine and torque through a ford 4wd tranny it wouldnt last a second it had so much torque it broke

  • pos chevy made of cheap shit

  • @bigmoney9111 fuck you chevy bogs all else clogs

  • thats why i buy ford

  • @hamersmith6 haha! You sir will be Found On Road Dead!

  • @hamersmith6 hahaha thats way worse

  • @hamersmith6 You do realize if it had a straight axle, it would out pull everything

  • @Chevguy20 yeah

  • @hamersmith6 no you buy ford because you dont haul any thing

  • @hamersmith6 FUCK FORD

  • @voic3z fuck you

ford is the best truck b!tch

  • @voic3z FUCK YOU

  • @voic3z yah ford is so awesome id fuck a ford too, don't worrie your not the only ford lover here ;)

  • @voic3z fuck you ford are the best

  • @voic3z No fuck you dip shit, FORD is the only company that didnt have to take the bailout, yet dumb asses like you still post stupid shit! Go drive your piece of shit chevy or dodge and go fuck yourself

  • @Powerstrokeit177 Ok, they ended up not having to take a bailout, but they still asked for it in the first place. Anyways, what does the whole bailout thing have to do with quality of production or anything like that? Nothing, so gtfo you fucking retard.

  • @voic3z Get your facts right bud, they did take the bailout, they did however pay it back, but they are now government owned. It has a lot to do with quality, obviously people want Ford, or GM wouldn't have been in that situation.... GM could have lost it all. I'm not a retard you are so go fuck yourself you GM loving homo.

  • @Powerstrokeit177 "@voic3z No fuck you dip shit, FORD is the only company that didnt have to take the bailout," You are the one who said they didn't have to take it in the first place, get YOUR facts right. Also, have I stated anything about any other car company? How do you just assume that I like GM or any other company?

  • @voic3z Lol talking to urself huh? Ya no shit? Are you that fucking stupid bahahaha! I have my facts right. You need to just shut up, your making yourself look like the jackass you are, i mean hell ur comment says @voic3z, good job bro........ And i assume because your trying to defend them soooo badly, and it just aint workin :)

  • @hamersmith6 FUCK FORD

  • @hamersmith6 my 90 ford ranger could wreck his shit

  • @jewsychicken you wish cock bag

  • @hamersmith6 powerstroke more like powerjoke

  • @CLENCHEDCURVE74 powerstroke and cummins are way superior to that jap isuzu engine

  • @hamersmith6 thats why you buy a cummins

  • @hamersmith6 ford are pieces of shit

  • They're designed to tow a load over the road, not drag it WOT thru the dirt. (Rolls eyes) A few hundred on a set of Kryptonite tie-rods and they're good. Seems to me everyone I know with a Dodge has had to replace the whole friggin front end cause it falls apart (Literally apart on one friend's truck. LOL). Love my D-max!! My first Ford was my last, and I PERSONALLY won't buy a Dodge...I DO like the cummins (12v), but the box it's packaged in.............not so much.

  • Well the tie rods broke... Much more than can be said for the engine...Those Duramax Diesel engines are pretty good engines... Even if the truck is less than :)

  • That truck is such a show off.

  • ford would have done the same thing pulling 3x as much weight as it should be

  • All smoke no stroke!

  • Duramax breaks? Yea pretty sure that had nothing to do with the motor dumbass...

  • @ButtMicSays haha that's what i was thinking

  • @toasty303 I mean I know everybody has their preference on diesel motors. I like Duramax's. But Cummins and the 7.3 Powerstroke are great motors don't get me wrong. I am just a GM guy. But this here has nothing to do with the motor. All the front axles. I wish GM would either build the front IFS stronger on these trucks or just go back to the old straight front axle. Just sayin...

  • @ButtMicSays well said all these people are like fords are the clear cut best but really there all about the same and they all have there advantages and disadvantages but its more of a personal preference like im a cummins guy but duramax and the powerstroke both deliver great performance

  • @juicebox6666 Exactly! They're all good trucks! All can do the same amount of towing and all the power is pretty much the same. Like the Cummins is a great motor don't get me wrong, but if I get a Cummins it's gonna have an Allison transmisson. That there would be, in my opinion, the best way to go. But to each is own! I don't bag on other trucks. I know they are all good. Just like GM trucks!

  • @ButtMicSays ahahaha yeah I think he meant Chevy

  • Nice tie-rods ;)

  • Chevy wouldnt even be in the Market today if the havnt had borrowed money from the government...so whats that tell you?

  • @Njknittle ford doesnt warranty there exploding transmission or blown diesels after 60 thousand miles

  • @bone1050 Most blown diesels and transmissions 75% are due to driver error.

  • @Njknittle i agree, people are so hung up on more power, they forget to upgrade everything else.

  • @Njknittle tells me they give more than they charge why would they borrow money if they wernt worth it an noone bought them just think

  • @Njknittle they paid it all back

  • After you get it outta the shop?

  • @badass657 you sir are a dumbass

  • cheapest and worest truck out there

  • hummm,,,thats professional grade?...i see

  • uh id rather be seen drivin a Ford then be seen pushin a chevy

  • ok look chevy is the best at anythang and thats all i have owned so i know wat it can do so yea

  • The steering was fucked up before he started to pull...check out the video when he is stopped before the race...the wheels are towed in.

  • Why not to buy a duramax? Every truck has their breaking point. Every truck is treated and maintained differently. Many factors come into play when stuff breaks on vehicles. As you can see here he is doing a truck pull. Truck pulls are just bout the worst thing for a vehicle. The guy probably beats the shit out of it. Every truck breaks. All depends on what parts are put into the vehicle and how it was driven. This has nothing to do with the brand. Just what the vehicle is being used for here.

  • i think that was above the max towing weight set by chevy. i think.

  • nah needs to be titled dont pull 15000lbs as fast as you can with your duramax

  • It's an easy fix. It should've been one of the first thing the guy did before even pulling. BUY TIE ROD SLEEVES. It surprises me that no one does this. It's not the truck's fault, it's the driver's.

  • Dumb shit its doing a pull u fucktard shit breaks just like my cummins and my brothers powerstroke u cant just say dont buy a duramax cause shit breaks

  • Alot of the parts breaking can partially be blamed on the engineers. After working at a dealership for 3 years you soon see how badly they put these vehicles together. Like a Ford for example, can't remember if its only the diesels or not, but to do a complete engine swap (I think thats what it was), you have to lift the entire cab off the the truck before you can do anything with the engine. It's retarded. They need to work on these vehicles after they're built, and see how stupid their work is

  • I <3 my straight axel :)

  • This is why you dont put independent front suspension in a diesel

  • Cummins is better than all

  • haha yea cuz that was the engine that broke

  • You know whats funny, people talk shit about Chevy and GMC being for pussies, but they are the only full size trucks that don't depend on being stupidly oversized and role prone in order to appeal to men who feel the need to compensate for something in order to sell. My best friend has had a 2500 from Ford, Dodge and GMC and he says the GMC is the best by such a margin that they are practically incomparable.

  • Good old IFS :-) All the truck wanted to do is perform a little jig for everyone :-)

  • @billiambarnett idler arm? or is that how they act with a locker?

  • @Digger818 IFS independent front suspension...

  • it appears to be a tie rod or pitman arm that broke

  • its not the duramax that failed as much as the drivetrain. chevy uses cv's in all there trucks. the cv's are tougher than u think. but i prefer my straight axles none the less

  • @redneck970 the duramax diesel engine is manufactured and designed at Isuzu, Chevy only installs them the fact that the IFS failed is solely on GM them selves. Honestly any real truck driver will admit this though, although not the best work horse like a ford or a dodge its still gonna be a relaxing ride home while you chill over the pot holes. LOL being a ford man myself it does suck when you hit a pot hole with a straight front 95 f250 7.3 powerstroke lol. Thats IMHO though

  • @ikaikaboy88 More so designed in conjunction with general motors. The engine is made at the Moraine, Ohio general motors facility.

  • @ikaikaboy88 Ya i got the 89 with the 7.3 idi ats turbo'ed. but ya a chevy's ride is way better

  • @redneck970 Gotta love them 7.3s lol... fuckin ford screwed shit up with the 6.0 diesel 7.3 IMO is probably the best engine to work with when diesel draggin cummins are great but those two extra cylinders add up in the long run although torque is unmatchable with that straight six

  • tap danceing at its best

  • to be Cummin', you gotta be Strokin', to be Strokin' you gotta be hard as a rock. Chevy power!

You can take your Dodge Ram and Ram it up your ass!

  • they are just mad because dodge can't make enough power to break something

  • I hope the next person to buy this checks the CarFax

  • FUKK ALL U FORD AND DODGE GUYS. CHEVY AND GMC FOR LIFE

  • @jeffsalome There is no truth in Opinion, there is no lie either......

Arguing over which diesel is better, is pretty useless, like a cock flavored lolly pop......

Btw, your Caps Lock is on, see the button on you far left on your keyboard? it's about midway up.....press it.

  • @jeffsalome what does gmc have? nothing ford ? nothing chevy has best trann dodge has best engine annd there coming with i think what 3 new ones? speak after those come out

  • fuck all you mother fuckers beaking chevs... that is all

  • xXBXSAINTXx must have gotten schooled by a chevy! lol

  • Read popular mechanic's article about the 2011 diesel trucks and see whos got what. Dodge is weak at 350hp and 650 lb/ft of torque Ford second place at 390hp and Chevy is #1 at 397hp stock. Look at the trial runs on Chevrolet Tube with ACI testing

  • i would rather fuck my girlfriend's mom with her watching than drive this piece of crap.

    all about that Dodge/Cummins team!

  • id rather push a chevy than drive a ford

  • @wkeil1981 Most that say that usually do. :)

  • @PowerstrokeForever Good one, but Ive had nothing but gms since i could drive and never had one leave me stranded. But my companies shit box ford 550 2006 has left many of my co workers stranded. oh yah it has a powerchoke in it.

  • @wkeil1981 Worst year for a diesel besides 05, the 6.0 wasn't refined yet, wouldn't say the same about a 7.3, 6.4, or 6.7 Powerstroke. Not to mention, the 6.0 following 2006 had less warranty repair than the 7.3. The 6.0 just got pushed into production too quick; a mistake on both Ford and International. Who is to blame got tied up in court and they are no longer partners. Damn shame.

  • @wkeil1981 while your pushing your chevy i'll black smoke you in my ford.. thats retarded.. why would you rather push a truck than drive one?! chevy is american made too lmfao

  • even a new ford with the 6.7 volvo, rather than a chevy with a 6.6 izusu

  • @wkeil1981 wow you totally stole that and flipped it around?

  • @wkeil1981 fo sho dood CHEVIE RAPES!

  • @wkeil1981

Well then go push that POS to the finish line! Your inbred comment made me LMFAO!

  • @wkeil1981 I guess you push allot!

  • @wkeil1981

You must do a looot of pushing, then.

  • duramax breaks, and ice cream melts
