I'm sad to say this is the worst mouse I've ever bought. The laser is horrible, sometimes starts getting jerky, making it impossible to play correctly, and the battery life is too short.

Seriously, who's bright idea was it to make a mouse with features like this that doesn't even function?! Get one of the Razor gaming mice instead.

@MrOriginalzombie Good idea. Steer clear of this garbage, I got sucked in by its looks and brushed off the bad reviews as possibly one or two bad mice people had recieved. I get mine and have the same problems, and more. CNET giving it Mouse of the Year 2010 or whatever discredits CNET. Take it from an avid gamer (of around 30 years gaming). Don't waste your money, for the same price, you can get a far superior Razer or Logitech unit with top build quality. Its that bad.

Terrible mouse, in fact, a $10 logitech cord mouse will outperform this thing. Tracking is terrible, mouse doesn't sit flat on the desk/mouse pad, so useless for FPS games. Played a bit of WoW, and after 4 days of clicking the side buttons, they both failed. They used to click, then stopped clicking after a couple of days, then totally don't work properly at all.

Have contacted Mad Katz regarding it, they don't wanna know. The microswitches in the side buttons are cheap, the whole mouse is.

This really should have a way to move the laser around. What I mean would be to make the laser able to slide into the spot you want it to be in, and than lock the spot. The laser on my mouse is next to the thumb rest (right hand), so I'm used to that postition.

Great mouse, love that I could configure it to my liking but after only a year of admittedly heavy usage I've totally worn out the back and forward buttons, to the point whereby the back button just snapped off (seems irreparable) never had that with a Logitech mouse of half the price even though I've worn holes in them.

shame really, the rest of the mouse is extremely well built. Seeking an RMA but expect to be quoted standard "wear and tear" terms and conditions.

The red button only slows scroll speed so it is great for sniping or Running around with a Normal Gun. once u get used to it it pretty much makes it so u dont miss but its not like an aimbot It requires skill to use it

@BabyLuisify I don't think it is an Aimbot. From what I read in the description on the Frys website, it is a bind for less mouse sensitivity so, if you are sniping (for example), your crosshair doesn't move so fast and it is easier to get exact aim.

@IndustryOfMagic I bought a rat 7, im not mad, i like it a lot, but i think it could be way way better. I was expecting more customization out of it, but for any serious gamer your best bet is razer. If i were taking gaming more seriously i would stick to razers new imperator since it has the highest dpi of every other mouse sept 1, and it has a cool cut off feature for those of use that like to palm and pick up the mouse a lot. Personally im just lazy and have a very complicated setup lol

@sparktite How much dpi you want to have? Already 5600 is too much. If you play on max dpi this means you move ur mouse just an inch and the cursor has traveled from Japan to France. It's like sooo fast that i really doubt there is anyone that can benefit out from a 5600 dpi mouse to its full extent.

@IndustryOfMagic I like 6200 dpi, i just purchased the new albino rat 7 and cant wait to use it. The higher dpi means its more accurate. Combine that with a very low sensitivity in game or through the mouse settings in windows, and you wind up with more of a buffer. That way when you make your mouse movements, its very precise and feels amazing. Its just how i like my setup, I mean if it wasnt any good why would companies be making them that high?

I just got this mouse delvered. man that mouse looks so cool! Oh that RAT looks so cool! I never had anything like that. however the collectors tin is too small. it cannot hold everyhing. the rad and the USB deivice dose not fit in that case. I hope they fix that. there is no wall charger for the battery. Then instilling the drivers is a huge pain in the ass. research .net runtime 3.0 amnd 3.5 and download 4.0 and uninstall it then install 3.5 back in its place. THAT WAS NOT NEEDED

@lantyboy I have to agree with you. My brother got this mouse 5 days ago. It's the worst and most expensive mouse we've ever seen. It's uncomfortable in any shape. The Laser doesn't even work on all mousepads. The ultra-sensivite hairtriggers make you click unintentional all the time. The battery is really hard to get in/out once the mouse warmed up. Not to mention the sharp edges on the aluminium case. Razer Mamba and Microsoft X8 are the better wireless choices.
