I think that Nate will recognize Blair is in trouble, and be there for her. The relationship will start of as platonic, and then they fall back into a romantic relationship seeking familiarity and comfort. Later, N sees that CB have an intense bond, and out of panic, asks B to move in. I think that will be the wake up call for both of them, that this is taking in the prospect of getting serious, and NB recognize that they love each other, but they are in love with others. Wow. That was rude. Just to let the NB fans know, many CB shippers are not against NB. For example, I loved them in 1x09, the flashbacks of their softmore thanksgiving. I just think that NB was an innocent first love and they simply drifted apart . I think they would have parted ways even if Blair and Chuck had not happened; they clearly had problems long before then. I love NB as friends though, I think that their long relationship before the pilot sets the stage for a great friendship.
