it's so fucking slow. i compared the 2WIRE (AT&T) to a other router (AT&T ALSO) the 2WIRE has about 80KBPS internet speed and the other router has 10MBPS internet speed. then it takes 12 hours to install a system update on the ps3.

worst piece of shit you can buy, dont get this router, after some time it starts randomly disconnecting your internet when it is being used too much. i try to keep everyone off the internet when im on it but since i am a gamer (i play world of warcraft) it uses too much bandwith to hold it so it diconnects me from the game, this is very frustrating and you cannot have more than one person using this at a time. waste of money, get a much better modem.

@aaron9989 OMFG! I share your frustration with this piece of shit. It drove me to the point of Youtubing it to see if anyone else suffers with this horrific device. You're not kidding when say only one person can use it at a time either, its hopelessly slow when someone else is doing even menial tasks such as checking their e-mail. Gaming with this is completely out of the question, and i'm so sick and tired of restarting this thing on a daily basis.

Wow nice video just one question for you. No matter what when connecting the 2wire router to the phone line dont use a filter unless a phone is already connected to it thats the only reason? What happens if i do connect it to the wall with a filter what goes wrong?

I sorry to be a bother, but did not have anymore characters to write. Anyway, but mine is security enabled, in my network and sharing center, I have win vista BTW, below it says 2WIRE798 (Private network. I have Network discovery set to off. all is off except for the password protected sharing is set to on. maybe I can explain better. I will make a video and try to get it as a response to this video. I just do not know what to do, he says put a filter or something so I cant see his or something.

As you have an AT&T 2WIRE you will have to contact them to see if they can offer help. Our 2WIRE is a bit different. Thank you for posting though, maybe someone else on these comments can help. Anyone have an idea?

Anyway the man next door got on me saying I am on his connection, but how is that possible when mine says connected to my 2wire798 and his says Linksys Unsecured network, Right by where his says Linksys little monitors, it has a yellow shield with a quotation mark in it, but he says that was using his and when I am not using his. He said he will have me shut down. But I am not on his.

all we have in this area is Embarq and nothing else. So we are stuck with DSL from this provider.. today i finally went from 3mb to 10mb.. and i hope this will solve some of the slow internet connections.. loading.. etc.. dls fluctuates in speed, hopefully 10mb will help..

You should get a wireless router and hook it up to the modem thats on the phone jack and get a wireless card/adapter for your PC. That way you don't have to move your computer.

I'm pretty sure that the 2wire works with AT&T DSL because they offer the same product. Not sure about Time Warner. Best thing to do is contact them directly or check their website.  I know AT&T has a list of compatible equipment on their website.

Its a router, with a SPI firewall in it. So the Xbox, put it in the DMZ zone, in the firewall settings and it will work fine.
