I can't believe no one paid attention to the title of this episode. "Hate Is Safer Then Love." Lucas continued to push Peytona way this season because he was scared of what would happen if he let her in again. It's why when he kissed her; he proposed to Lindsey; because he was scared of getting hurt. He felt that hating Peyton was safer then loving her because he wouldn't get hurt.
Go back to season 4 when Luke had his heartattack and Keith came to him in a dream. Keith told Luke that if Luke wouldn't have gone to N.Y. to get Haley back then too much time would have passed and Nathan's pride would have been too much to overcome. That is what is going on in season 5...Luke is in a battle w/his pride and the more he sees Peyton the harder the battle becomes. He can't stop his feelings for Peyton and he "hates" (not really) how that makes him feel...powerless.
Peyton are One Tree Hill, this scene is still sad even though we now know he didn't mean it & they got their happy ending. They must return for the final episode.

It's really mean of him to say so, but he's just sad and confused. I mean Peyton did "ruin" his life in one way, but she have made it a thousand times better too. When she first said no (well, actually she didn't..) to his prepose he was crushed. But still, they will always be there and love each other. Brooke is the best, she's so beautiful and so adorable. How can u even compare Peyton to Brooke? Brooke is so much better in every way. She looks way better and her personality is way better, she's so fun and sweet. I mean seriously Peyton is boring and annyoing. I hate her! She doesn't even look good.

It's really mean of him to say so, but he's just sad and confused. I mean Peyton did "ruin" his life in one way, but she have made it a thousand times better too. When she first said no (well, actually she didn't..) to his prepose he was crushed. But still, they will always be there and love each other. Lucas did love Lindsey, but I think that it was mostly to hide his feelings for Peyton. He shouldn't have said this anyways, but it all ended (so far) happy. No damage! :)

And one more thing, Lucas should be running back to Peyton. She is a real woman, she stood by him and saved him when he hit rock bottom. If I were Lucas I'd never let go of Peyton.

Lucas shouldn't have said that to Peyton. What Lucas should have said to Peyton is this:
"I wish you a clear conscience with peaceful dreams. Share your love with someone new."
This would have been mature of Lucas, but Lucas is anything but mature.

i hate peyton, anytime brooke hated her for cheating with lucas she acted like a bitch like she did nothing wrong.

I don't know who's fault it is, but I can't help the fact that this scene cracks me up everytime I watch it. I love Leyton, I do.. And I would never want Lucas to hate Peyton, but the way Chad acts drunk, and looks as though he will puke on the pillow after is says she ruined his life.. I think it's hilarious. Does ANYONE agree, even the slightest bit?
