I like Randy and was very impressed with his win against Tim . But it seams that every answer to his equations for him is same. And that is impassible. You cant wrestle the bigger guy like Lesner and win if he is good wrestler and getting better of you in exchanges. You have to rethink your game and every times he fails to do that. He just goes out with the same thing and if it does not work he loses. That is not salving equations...

Doliveij I like your vids and all, but I disagree with the comment you made about Hardy vs Swick title shot, cus if they do what you said "pair up the winner of Hardy vs Swick, and Johnson vs Koscheck". Then GSP will be out of fighting for some time, and as a champ he has to defend his title. Besides neither Swick, Hardy, Johnson, or Koscheck would be able to beat GSP, but like I said GSP is the champ and he needs to defend his title.

I don't think this is impressing at all...

In fact I think this is a disgrace.Looks like the only thing you need to do nowadays to win fights is to clinch your opponent against the cage and hold him there during the whole fight,throwing an ocassional elbow or something and that's it.

Vera wasn't smart enough,that's true,but he definately inflicted more damage and won the fight for me.

I think this decision is simply pathetic,but hey,that's just my opinion...

Yeah, I can see it both ways. The judges were apparently looking at octagon control rather than damage. In terms of who actually won the fight overall, you have to go with Vera because he inflicted the damage and he had been in a dominant position at the end. But round by round, one can justify the decision. He has only himself to blame. There was no need for him to let it be so close; he had the tools to win this easily, but he lacks mental toughness and (sorry to say it) intelligence.

RACE TO 100 PREDICTION UPDATE:

Ugh, we both did terribly this time, with 5/11 each. I must admit, my picks were flat out horrible -- just 1/5 on the main card. Damn, what a shame to follow up with this after my 9/9 predictions from the Strikeforce card!

We had disagreed on four picks and split 2-2. I got Siver and Pearson, you got Brown and Couture. The standings remain unchanged, with me in the slight lead as we approach the halfway mark:

Vera (and Rogan) can complain about that decision, but the fact is he fought a stupid fight. He could have won. Standing right in front of Randy instead of sticking and moving? Following him into his guard without mounting any offense (instead of forcing him to stand back up) after he had him badly hurt in round 2? And his lack of respect post-fight was awful too.

Good for Randy, winning fights at 46 against tough guys like Vera is impressive. Vera, unlike Randyd, is not a thinking fighter.

Don't worry, man. Had Randy won impressively he may have gotten a title shot, but I would be shocked if they give him one from this win. If he wins his next one, though, it's a very real possibility. My bet is that they're going to give Randy the winner of Ortiz-Griffin for his next fight.

You know, I hate to admit it but Bisping is clearly better than most experts have been giving him credit for. I picked Kang too (though I was not as sure about the pick), but Bisping really impressed me with his jiu-jitsu defense -- and his ground and pound is lethal every time we see it. He's also one of the best at *finishing* once he has an opponent hurt. He's probably around #10 in the world at middleweight, with this win.

Kang, unfortunately, lacks mental toughness.
