Ummm...if I'm not mistaken, all Filipinos learn English in school. They may not speak it perfectly, but they speak it VERY well. I don't think she "barely spoke English" when she first met David Foster.

SIR and Ma'am is a sign of respect if you are addressing someone you don't know by name, if you think that they age is a bit older than yours. I work in the customer service here in Canada and Caucasian customers do address me as SIR. Caucasians are more understanding when an immigrant mispronunciates some words. They know what the person is trying to say.

Fans of Regine and Sarah are like begging people to recognize their idol. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Their idol's video are all over the internet too but nobody's biting. They can sing but nothing spectacular unlike Charice's, hers is unique, goosebumps and chill inducing kind of voice. It's a gift and Oprah aptly named her...THE VOICE.

Ummm...if I'm not mistaken, all Filipinos learn English in school. They may not speak it perfectly, but they speak it VERY well. I don't think she "barely spoke English" when she first met David Foster.

Mga puti sila pero iba iba ang kanilang mga English accent kagaya ng English, Irish, Scotish, Welsh at lalo na ang mga Australians. Consider ang mga Italians, Ukranians, Germans, Polish, etc. na hindi English ang first language. Canada is bilingual.. English & French ang salita. Give Charice some time. SIR and Ma'am is a sign of respect if you are addressing someone you don't know by name, if you think that they age is a bit older than yours. I work in the customer service here in Canada and Caucasian customers do address me as SIR. Caucasians are more understanding when an immigrant mispronunciates some words. They know what the person is trying to say.

I just wish that we learned to be like Americans who doesnt care either your black or white, what is important is your talent. and they really appreaciate you. They really do standing ovation once they satisfied with your performance but here in the Philippines even Charice didnt experienced na tumayo yung audience sa kanya.

Fans of Regine and Sarah are like begging people to recognize their idol. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Their idol's video are all over the internet too but nobody's biting. They can sing but nothing spectacular unlike Charice's, hers is unique, goosebumps and chill inducing kind of voice. It's a gift and Oprah aptly named her...THE VOICE.

That is why when it comes to english songs - filipinos r a group to reckon with, most would even mimic or try to copy d actual popular singer's voice & style.but that is not limited 2 english only coz filipinos r all over d globe & historically has various foreign influences like spanish, japanese, malay, arabic, & chinese

FaYI (4olUrInfo) Filipinos are a very versatile race - english is generally a 2nd language to us, in comparison with other non-english speaking people or countries... there are more than 100 dialects (i think) scattered all over the country... i know 4 - if any one of them met with one another there is a possibility that they wont understand each other - the alternative medium would be to talk in tagalog or english
unconventional sign language also works :)
if either of the 2 doesn't work...

After being re-discovered in the Philippines ( Oh! I forgot to mention, she was already seen on Phil TV before when she was I think 8 or 9 yrs. old but she wasn't given much notice ) after that LittleBigStar stint she was invited to Sweden for a record album ( it can only get better ) then she was invited to Korea - those things happened first before she was invited to Paul O'Grady - followed by Ellen DG, succeeded by Oprah and then David Foster and the rest I can say is history... )

shintaru if regine is d best why is it when she had the duet with brian mcknight or something the hollywood producers seemed not to be moved.. sorry ha kasi kaming andito sa labas ng bansa tlagang hindi tlaga feel ang regine mo..when i was also in the country regine tlaga ako but it changed kasi na over na ang style nia with everything...but compared to cha when she was also young i chose cha.

Regine Velasquez - undeniably has a real great voice & is a talented actress too. I just hav2 comment that my admiration 4 her lessened from d time she started wearing sexy & daring clothes as if she was desperate & trying 2 compete w/ mariah C. ( that also goes with her )& also bcoz of her choice of men...
I admired her at first 4 her voice, her talent & beauty but not for her change in image - I do agree that when it comes to vocal talent in the Phils. & even in asia Regine is 1 of d best

there are more than dozens of great talents in the Phils. I also admire Sarah Geronimo, she also has a unique charm - she's a great singer too... She is now also successfull in her own right but it was'nt that easy-going for her too at first... Would that network take good notice of her if she didn't win that CONTEST?... I admire the korean & other asian entertainment industry - they dont focus too much on how cute or great looking the lead players are in the movies or in their music industry...

I am a Regine fan, but please donot underestimate her, I loved Charice too, but it hurts me when somebody bash Regine. If you don't want Charice to get underestimated don't do it to any artists who had proven their talent already.

Actually The Philippines discovered her first!!! Its just that the competition here is very stiff - there are numerous artists who have great talent... but because basically the Phil. entertainment industry and society as a whole are so much focused on aesthetics ( on how good-looking or how sexy and beautiful the artist is ) and not on how greatly talented a person is when it comes to singing or acting. Artists like Charice aren't given much notice unless they have done a noticeable feat...

Just read about the comments of Pinoys and PInays in Ellen's website regarding Charice's appearance - Her appearance in Ellen is still in Fact one of the top videos on line...
