  • Actually, so far, it seems to be a carbon copy of 2007. Yamaha once again have failed to come up with a competative engine. They are 5-6 seconds off the pace! The one tyre rule will be the best thing to happen to MotoGP. The last two seasons have been a farce with Michelin taking the piss at every turn. Now we have an even field, the bikes and the riders can decide. Looks like the Ducati has it won already though ..

  • I don't think that can be said.

    Rossi is probably one of the most natural riders of the past 10 years. He reminds me of riders like Doohan, Rainey, Lawson, Spencer, Hailwood and of course, Agostini.

    Stoner is the new kid on the block, and for someone who manages to ride at his age, with his maturity I think we will see a passing of the baton from Rossi to Stoner.

    Another couple of years yet before he earns his stripes though.

  • Technically the Ducati is the fastest on the straights. The Yamaha has an advantage on the corners. The 2009 Ducati is an improvement, but riders themselves admit to the Ducati being a hard bike to ride, and an even harder one to ride harder. It's one reason the Ducati's don't perform terribly well.

    Ask Melandri what he thinks of the Ducati and he'd probably take the Yamaha any day.

    That said, somehow Stoner manages to tame the beast and make it work where others don't.

    That sums up Stoner :)
