Pisses me off people who download software for free, these guys have worked really hard for this and it's their livelyhood. Do software pirates not realise that?
Why crack/download something that's only $129, has taken over a year of hard work and sounds so damn good??!! My only critisism is that in the UK it is £129 which works out nearly twice the price!:-(
Hi there...great video...great product. Can you tell me if I can run using my Roland XP80 keyboard ? I know I will need midi-usb connector to computer...but what is ASIO compatable? Can anyone please tell me on how to get best Eminent 310 sound on XP80...I just love the Jarre sounds but the phaser on the XP80 doesn't sound strong enough.
Great story at the end....yeah I bumped into this on there page one time, I had a little cry when I heard because I knew I could never afford to buy a copy....it honestly sounds great but as far as I know there is not a working demo so I can't tell how well the sliders and modulation works. If only H2O were still around.
But these string machines are multi-sampled...almost every single note on the keyboard is sampled for each machine. So phase-cancelling should not occur.
Divide-down means each lower octave is continuously derrived from a synthesized top-octave waveform, the derrived waveforms cannot drift in relation to each other and are effectively phase locked to each other. Samples are triggered by the keyboard action.
That is not to say that the instrument can't be good in it's own right, but the samples *will* drift.
Tried the VSM in my home studio...it's truly amazing, not just because of the sheer number of vintage string machines available, but the quality of the sound and of the Phaser & Ensemble effects...very true to the original Any remaining thoughts of reviving my Arp Omni II and Crumar Performer have vanished. They even give a detailed history of string machines (and you can play all of the ones mentioned in it)

What happened to H2O??
grooveclubhouse 3 years ago
they got pissed off because people kept asking them to crack stuff and having a moan when cracks weren't 100% reliable.
But someone did sort a crack......
LF0 3 years ago
ah thx! uhm what did you mean by "but someone did sort a crack.." do you mean that some did sort a crack? sux H2O gave up...

"Divide-Down" as used on the actual machines means no note will ever drift/phase-cancel against itself in a different octave. Samples will.
